How Did You Go Rd9

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 19 2019

Well done if you loaded up on Giants this week. Plenty of premos going large, plenty of rookies misfiring…..how did you end up in Rd9?

  1. 2300/Gawn

Fielded setterfield over Balta and Answerth over Lockhart. What could’ve been. Around par this week so I hope to hold around 2k.

  2. 2152/Grundy/5111 still in lock-out

Not bad considering I copped a Moore donut and had to bench M. Crouch and field Answerth. Hurn, Gawn, Grundy, Lloyd and J. Kelly helped make up for those shortcomings.

  3. 2188. Was working, so copped a doughnut with Drew not playing and no E or chance to sub on Balta. Lost by 7 points. Damn it…

  4. 2385 / Grundy / 1,200ish last week

Really strong overall week and stoked with Macrae coming in and doing the job for me. Some concern with Crouch out and Williams injured, but otherwise in a strong position going forward with 22 trades left.

  5. 2386/ Gawn, let downs constable and fucken answerth and baker, zac williams injured cant do much. Currently ranked 64 overall.
    T/U move into top 50
T/D move down the peeking order

      1. Anthony you should join the SCT group via leagues on the sc site. Code is 900763 so we can keep track of you. Well done Stewy on top 15 still. I’ve moved to 72nd also.

Gonna be some big scores this week…

It was amateur hour yesterday arvo. Put Z Clarke on field to loop hole Grundy, but do you think I put the C on Clarke???? Yeah, na 🙁

Left 88 points out there. Single malt time again!

Was smashing it until today. Stack, baker, duursma, cripps, williams. Plenty in the same boat im sure so not sure where that will sit by comparison

  9. 2149/Grundy/ was 7978

Crouch, cogs, Moore and drew meant I had to field duursma, gibbons, Constable, stack and setterfield. Traded rozee out for telly on his biggest game of the season too. Will lose a large amount of places I assume and burned through too many trades already, will be looking to offload gibbons.
One of those weeks I guess.

Suspect I will drop a lot!! Had to field too many very poor rookies this week due to injuries. Gonna be some monster scores this week I feel

I will happily take this score when i had Crouch out and then fielded Parker and Setterfield. I had to take Lockhart’s score for Crouch and that was a shambles. Williams going down injured hurts, hoping it isn’t too serious.

Studs: Ruckman, Neale, Macrae, Lloyd, Zerrett, Heeney and Whitfield.
All producing some massive scores for me trying to compensate for all these rookies having absolute shockers and going to cause real big issues for cash growth.

Spuds: Basically every rookie and Cripps
what can i say rip cash gen

Hope this is a somewhat average score so i am no hurt too much in the rankings

    1. Slight rank change, up to 6700 and a win in the SCT Cup so that lives on. Reeled back in the Tech League so that is tightening up again

  12. 2091/Grundy/heading south
Started so well until I realised I left ROB at R2 after reversing trades.
Lost 2 leagues by 2 points
Fielded Answerth, Clark, Constable, Cripps, Setterfield & Williams
Mumford, cogs & Moore filled the bench

  13. 2194/Grundy… rank 1100s

Really can’t complain with 2 donuts on the field.
Well done to all with the monster scores this week.

  14. 2381/Grundy was about 2.5 K
That score had a doughnut and Gibbons 21. Williams was on track for a big one as well before doing a hammy.

  15. 2141/vc on Grundy/ranked 17K

Great scores by Hurn, Whitfield, Yeo and Neale….and I have none of them !!

Far too many rookies with dud scores fielded

My PODS pretty much scored their projected scores

Bye bye SCT cup I reckon.

Questions for next round… Will Danger play… how many weeks out for Williams…will Rockliff get suspended for a week…Will Constable actually be named….Can Drew force his way back in…Will Moore play next week….and this is just for my team.

    Hope maintain position.
STUDS: Whitfield, Lloyd, Grawndy, Heeney, Neale and newcomer Marshall (90 v Grundy is awesome)
DUDS: all rookies and future cash gen is now a worry.

Well done lots of SCTers with 2300+ scores 🙂

  18. 2214 / Grundy

Score came with Crouch, Coniglio and Moore riding the pine, meaning I had to field superstars such as Answerth, Gibbons and Hayes. 5 scores of 140+ helped, as did the ton from Noah “Goat” Balta!

Hopefully don’t drop too many more ranking spots, and get a few players back next week.

    1. “superstars such as Answerth, Gibbons and Hayes”. Lmao, Chillo.

Solid score and good job hanging onto Balta, similar to Naughton last year.

    All things considered happy enough
    considering no Crouch and Darcy
    Moore. Collins, Gibbons and Clark
    On the field scored poorly.

  20. 2108/Fyfe 17K

Injuries taking their toll. Menegola out meant I had to field Setterfield. Now will likely have to deal with Z Williams & Danger next weekend. Scrimshaw, Corbett & Duursma all underwhelming as well as six of 16 premiums failing to crack 90. Ugh.

Was ranked 4198. Hopefully rise a lil.
Brought in Kelly for Walsh which was nice and brought in Stocker for Libba. Happy with that. Neale to cone in this week i think.
Some huge scores guys. Well done. Making me feel bad. Ha

  22. 2331/ Grundy /slow start so 18000 ish. Hope to come home hard. Petrecelle, Hayes, Lockhart struggled but kudos to Whitfield, Hurn and the 2G ruck strongholds. Seems to be a high average this week 2250?

  23. 2114 / Grundy / IDK

Got the job done? Oliver, Heeney, Grundy, Macrae, Danger, Lloyd, Whitfield, Gawn

Didn’t get the job done? Me, Dunkley, Sicily, Williams, Kelly, Cripps

I traded in Hately out of sheer greed because I saw him listed as an in for the GIANTS. Unfortunately that was just into the emergencies so I missed out Butters’ 76 which would’ve won me my main league. Looking at Neale and Boak depending on what happens with Danger.

Very poor week and just can’t catch a break with injuries. Can’t afford cogs out long with Williams out. Stuck with a 28 from gibbons 31 from Hayes and 29 from setterfield on field this week. Thankfully had Balta on field!

      1. 2005/Rocky/to infinity and beyond!!

With so many injuries and outs was forced to field 7 rooks and four of them did not get past 33. Other low scores came from Williams (injured), Cripps (DeBoared), Libba Daniel and TKelly. Libba was supposed to become JKelly but couldn’t cover the outs.

Had a couple of stars in Sloane, Macrae, Gawn, Lloyd, Danger and Heeney (finally). What I said about always next year might not even be next decade with current level of (lack of) coaching skills.

However, will desperately hang in there to support the leagues and hope my bye strategy is allowed to flourish.

      2. What was that double upgrade Stewy? Must’ve been good cause you just managed to sneak past my massive 2005 to advance in the cup.

Fantastic score bud, that’ll get you back into the top 5.

        1. Libba and Walsh out
          JMac and J Kelly in
Worked well for me and now up to 15.

  25. 2,406/Grundy

Went from around 4,100 into 1,335.

Had a few big tons: Hurn, Whitfield, Neale, Grundy and Gawn.
Several good scores, a few mediocre, and disappointment came for Cripps and Setters.

  27. 2369/Grundy/15 (up from 38)

Back on top of the SCT group and won my SCT Cup match as well – nothing else matters surely!

    11 players @ 100+ and 7 under 80.

Studs: G & G Rucking Factory, Neale, Taranto, Lloyd, J Kelly, JMac, B Crouch, Heeney
Smith, Steele and Crisp back around where I need them to be.

    Duds: Cripps, TK, Setterfield, Constable

  28. 2,315 / Grundy / 940th overall (up from 1,429th)

Studs: Whitfield, Hurn, Neale, Grundy, J. Kelly, Heeney

Duds: Cripps, Daniel, Z. Williams, Setterfield, Baker, Constable, Stack

  29. Didn’t see Drew and Moore were outs and fielded them. Still scored over 2100 but this season has been an absolute disaster.

  30. 2047, Gawn, rank too low to be relevant.

Answerth, Setterfield and JPK on the field, was lucky to take the win.

  31. 2289/ J Kelly/ 12,181(from 16,764)

Previous high was 2233 in RD2.
J Kelly as captain on debut and Whitfield returned from injury with Setterfield replacing Moore.
7 players below 80 (Hore, Constable, Williams, Westhoff, Setterfield, Baker and Duursma)
    11 players over 100 (C Oliver, B Grundy, R Sloane, L Neale, Danger, I Heeney, Goldy, Z Merrett, N Fyfe, J Kelly and L Whitfield)

Cash generation situation is getting very scary but thankfully ROB money should ease a bit of the pain/burden. Will happily welcome one of J Macrae/J Lloyd for the upcoming round who both didn’t feature in my side last season.

  32. 2,196 / Grundy / 7018 (down 1087)

Many players all had slightly off weeks, leading to the whole team having one. First time this season going backwards in rank. Of course started rather far back.

One good thing was going M Crouch to Yeo. Would have had to play Hayes on the field, and Yeo was 105 over him. Made the trade good already. Don’t even want to think about how far I would have fallen with 105 fewer points!

Oh, and go Balta! Started with, held, happy. Showing now what he did in the JLT.

  33. 2385 / Rockliff (RIP) / 572

Very very good score, happy with everyone except Cripps but he had the tag

Studs: Hurn, Whitfield, Gawn, Grundy, B Crouch, Lloyd, Rozee, Dangerfield, Boak

Duds: Rockliff (As captain smh), Cripps

I’m aiming for at least top 100 this season; if i can get there at least once that is a win in my books. Current ceiling for me is 188 🙂

  35. 2244/Gawn/3635

Decent score this week as i had to cop some carnage with Matt crouch out and the wonderful Hayes as cover..

    Studs:
    Hurn
    LLoyd
    Macrae
    Gawn
    Grundy
    Balta

    Duds:
    Willams hamstring 🙁
    Cripps
    Hayes
    Daniel
    Petru

Not sure on trades yet want to see what Willaims prognosis is first but have alot of rookies to be culled.

  36. 2307 / Cripps as C.

Two garbage forward rookies and not being able to use my VC loophole (Grundy) were the biggest issues. Moved up closer to where I won’t be embarrassed to post my ranking.

  37. 2135/gawn/41k
Just not happening this year , a few starting premos a bit underwhelming , moved on dusty and darling??,injuries to whitfield and cogs hurt a bit and c on danger when injured as well.similar story to thousands of others I’m sure.
Anyway my revised aim is to get inside 10k at least , also in sct3 league which is ranked inside top 200 so want to help keep that rating up.
