Thompson didn’t play in the second half of the Roos’ 10-goal victory over Carlton, but that was at least partly precautionary, with the match well in hand. McDonald will look to join ‘Scooter’ in defence this week after being a late withdrawal last week, while McKay‘s horror run continued when he hurt a quad at training. He’s been out with pneumonia and a toe problem before that. In VFL ranks, Tyson suffered a calf recurrence and Scott sustained concussion from a first-half tackle. Murphy is closing in on a return after three weeks on the sidelines. – Marc McGowan |

Early prognosis
|
Wines and Ebert are in doubt for Saturday night’s Showdown against Adelaide, while Jonas could return after missing the past two games with a calf injury. Wines aggravated an ankle injury in last Friday night’s 39-point loss to Collingwood and Ebert suffered a head knock in the third quarter. He will have to pass concussion tests this week. Star forward Gray is listed to be back from a broken hand for the Power’s round 11 clash with St Kilda in Shanghai. Dixon is increasing his training loads and has returned to running on grass after having a couple of setbacks in his return from a serious leg injury. There’s still no timeline on his return other than the second half of the season. Watts has his leg in a moonboot and is unlikely to play this year, while Hayes is close to his return from a torn ACL. – Lee Gaskin

Early prognosis
|
Richmond’s ever-growing injury list has seen classy forward Rioli and integral intercept defender Vlastuin join its ranks, with the club still to confirm the time frame for the pair. Rioli has been battered from pillar to post over the past few weeks, suffering a number of corkies to his thigh and then copping a knock to the ribs against the Dogs. Vlastuin’s rolled ankle doesn’t appear to be to severe, while fellow back Astbury is a test to return for the trip across to play Fremantle. – Sarah Black

Important defender Webster escaped serious damage on a hand injury suffered in the loss to Greater Western Sydney but he needs to prove his fitness. Last year’s No.4 draftee King could play in the VFL if he is declared fit after his right knee reconstruction. – Dinny Navaratnam

Early prognosis
|
Franklin will train on Wednesday to try and prove his fitness ahead of Friday night’s clash with Essendon at the SCG, but he’s a chance to miss one more game. Papley copped a heavy knock against Brisbane last week in a courageous marking contest but should be right to play the Bombers. Menzel is on track to play his first game in Swans colours in Saturday’s NEAFL clash with Sydney University and should play 40-60 minutes of game time. Cunningham could miss two months of footy with his torn adductor. Smith had another surgery on Tuesday to try and overcome his struggles with his hamstring. – Adam Curley |

Early prognosis

Hickey and Waterman are both pushing to return against the Saints this Saturday night and ran strongly together during Monday’s brief session at Subiaco Oval. Naitanui and Rioli will join main training this week and were sprinting at top speed on Monday. Barrass completed some stationary handball work but his timeframe has been pushed back a couple of weeks after foot surgery. –Travis King

Please let Dangers knee be OK. The cats need him
Mate you’re playing North. You could rest your entire best 22 and still beat us
Wow, richmond has 10 of their best 25 injured. I think they’re luck in 2017/18 with injuries has been balanced out this year
It’s 9 of our best 22. I see what you did there with Markov though, think you might have been generous with him… 😉
