  1. Is Houli a good inclusion if youre gonna have under 5 trades left when full premo?
can he possibly keep this form up? (already have, Zilliams, Sicily, LLoyd)

    TU: Bring Houli in

    TD: No chance

  2. Want to flick Constable this week, but means going early on one of;

    Bewley = TU
    Gardiner = TD

    cheers

  3. Whitfield/Lockhart/Balta out this week. Ins are:

    TU – Laird/Pendles/Gardner
    TD – Houli/Coniglio/Gardner
    Comment – Laird/Stewart/Clarke(ESS)

  4. hurn out for 2 , maybe 4 , price @ 600k ,
no way he can hold that value coming off injury
thinking of trading him to kelly for an extra 60k

  5. Initially decided to hold Whitfield as I’d be able to cover his absence but have now decide to trade him to H Andrews thus allowing S Walsh to P Cripps. To free up money to allow next week’s trades of In: L Ryan, R Gray and B Bewley/D Clarke, Out: T Atkins, M Hore, W Setterfield/L Stocker/N Answerth, I have to trade 1 of Stocker or Setterfield to Gardner.

Current line up inclusive of trades is:
    Def: R Laird, J Lloyd, H Andrews, B Smith, Z Williams, M Hore, (X Duursma, N Answerth)

    Mid: J Kelly, J Macrae, P Cripps, N Fyfe, L Neale, R Sloane, Z Merrett, C Oliver, (T Atkins, O Baker, L Stocker)

    Ruck: B Grundy, T Goldstein, (P Bines)

    Fwd: T Kelly, P Dangerfield, I Heeney, J Westhoff, L Baker, W Setterfield, (C Burgess, R Young)

Not bothered if Stocker misses and I have less than 18 for RD13 if Young/Burgess is omitted as this week will compensate.

    Therefore
    TU: W Setterfield
    TD: L Stocker

    1. Sicily is probably the safer bet atm, Andy.

FT (who is bang-on in SC matters, especially those relating to Freo) said that Ryan’s role is now up in the air with Pearce’s absence and if he’s played as a lock-down defender that him hamper his scoring.

      5

      1
      1. I must admit, I don’t watch a lot of Freo games and FT certainly knows his stuff, but my prediction would be that Ross would want to keep Ryan in his current role, as he is performing so well. Purely a gut feel though. How’s Griffen Logue travelling? Would he be a realistic replacement for Pearce role wise?

        1. Thanks Guys..

Just to confirm…What I said was. Last year I got a bit burnt by Ryan as I got him in as my last upgrade in defence. He was then forced into a more accountable role and this did affect his output.

          This year…
I’m really hoping Logue ( I’m actually unsure of his WAFL form) comes in and Ryan’s role doesn’t change. If this happens I feel Ryan should still be a solid selection.

All said and done, I still feel Sicily is probably the best ( points per $) of the R12 Bye defenders.

If your looking for a risky cheaper POD Blakely could be your man.

Thanks again and good luck to all* this week.

*Unless I have you in one of my league match ups 😉

        1. Fantastic. Another premo missing from my side this week… I was tight before and have had to make 2 trades to cover outs, I will probably have 16 scoring players this week.

  6. To go early on Neale or not?

    Pro’s:
    – gives me 18 if Rotham isn’t named and obviously seriously improves my side this week
    – doesn’t affect my bye structure as I’d be looking to trade out Whitfield & Stocker who are injured and therefore not playing anyway

    Con’s:
    – I’m REALLY low on trades
    – that extra $20k-$50k I could save by waiting till round 14 could help for future trades

Overall I’m sitting ok around 5k, and league wise I’m in the 8 and the match up is semi in my favour before trades.

    TU: Go early on Neale
    TD: wait for round 14

    5

    11
    1. Do it with no hesitation.

      – You will want Neale in either way so it doesn’t matter if you use the trade now or in round 14

      – You said it doesn’t affect your bye structure (which the only reason you wouldn’t bring him in is if you had too many RD 13 bye players already)

      – Neale plays Carlton. Get him in and put the C on him!

      6

      1
    1. I’m going to chuck the VC on Telly and put the C on Neale mate. First time I’ve had to think outside the box of the usual Grundy/Gawn combo for a few weeks, but really like Neale against Carlton. I think Mitch Robbo may spend some time on Cripps this week, but he is a champion and will want to bounce back after a poor week.

  7. Whitfield going straight to Lloyd, but want to free up the $ to upgrade Moore.

TU: ROB to Bines losing the ruck cover next week, but avoiding potential cash loss this week.
TD: Constable to Bewley but going early on a cow.

    1

    8
      1. Can do both, but that means holding Moore. In which case I may as well wait and see if Bewley is named next week. Or hold Whitfield to Lloyd for now.

    T/up – Rotham

    T/down – Bewley

    Comment – Gardner

  10. Rotham finally named for his third game. What do we think, coaches?

TU With that low BE he’s probably as good a downgrade target as you can expect at this stage in the season. Bring him in.

TD His JS has more flake than a fish and chip shop on Good Friday. Avoid

    3

    16
    1. Said this a few times over the last 24 hours, will say it again: Rotham’s JS is very poor.

Eagles have the bye next week, giving Hurn and Allen an extra week to rest- both push out Rotham when fit.

Also, Hurn was running laps this week. Will definitely be back in R14.

      7

    2. My advice would be to avoid Rotham mate. Very poor JS and would be surprised to see him play after the bye. Even though Gardner has only played the 1 game, I’d select him over Rotham in a heartbeat.

  14. AllSaints, I think I’m going to go with Milera! Have been toying with the decision all day and I really like those extra dollars in the bank! I’m just trying to do some rough maths and predictions to determine the likely difference score wise between him and Laird.

    7

    1. I know I’m not AS but that sounds good, DR. Solid D6.

Milera’s in good form, even when they swung him forward he looked sharp; game aware, quick, efficient. Looks like they’ve settled on him at half back, where his avg is 95; subtracted the injury affected score and the game he played up forward.

      Good luck!

      1. Thanks very much GD! I’m officially sold now. Can really, really use the money I save from passing on Laird. This is why I have loved this great community for over 10 years now. People have different ways of thinking, throw up some ideas that are outside the box and genuinely want to help each other. (As FT said though, not in your league matches though haha)
Good luck to you too mate.

    1. Marcus.

I plan on making three downgrades over the Bye weeks, and those three are at the top of my list.

Gardener was hand picked from the Dogs VFL side mid season,he is there to fill a role. You would think he would get a decent run at it.

Bewley was touted as a talent preseason with his elite kicking, and mature body. Ross has always been difficult to read on selection. I still feel with the side currently going quite well 🙂 his place should be safe for now.

Clark was great on debut. The Dons really need a midfielder ( Smith gone for the year) that can help stop an oppo mid and most importantly tackle!

I think they are all very solid downgrades at this stage.

  16. Sort of coming up with some quite left field options for my forward line. I’m seeing an interesting choice of Macpherson 447k coming into mind. Currently on a 105 3 round average and a 99.6 5 round average. He has scored 109,119 in his last 2 games against Geelong and GWS. He is in great form and he is usually named in the forward pocket. However since Bowes is now out with a Quad injury he is named on ball.

He does have some bad scores this year with a 54, 40 and 66. Although looking through his form from previous years in the NEAFL I am seeing many 30+ possession games as a midfielder, so that is where he should be playing so I am feeling he as be offered an opportunity to cement himself in that midfield.

Is it worth to take a massive punt on Macpherson expecting him to keep up that 5rd average form, or is it all just a flash in the pan and he’ll move back to that pocket and score a few more 60’s?

    TU: Go for it!
    TD: Get some common sense

    1. I think to be a valid selection, he needs to maintain close to his current form for the rest of the year, not just the next month. If you are confident he keeps the role he is playing at the moment, then go for it mate. If you think he is only playing mid minutes due to injuries, there is more risk involved there. I would support your decision either way, as I love the fact that you are throwing up a very different option. Good scouting Nato.

      1. I was also considering Ziebell due to a new coach. Ziebell plays many different roles but was wondering if he would just be stuck with 1 main role under Shaw. After seeing this said today;
‘Ziebell: My role is a bit week to week, and I will play where the coaches need me. We have built a bit of a luxury with having a few guys that can go through the midfield, especially with Jy Simpkin and Luke Davies-Uniacke really coming along nicely.’
I went off him after 1 game was not enough data to go on and that doesn’t go down well with 1 main role.

I’m really hoping MacPherson takes full advantage of this chance as I have heard his name called a lot recently. It will be interesting to see come round 16 on what happens, but I feel i can always offload him with many trades saved at the start of the year.

    1. Freddy.

Its very difficult to even read your question. Its just one rambling sentence. Try using a few full stops.

It sounds like either your friend has a Herald Sun subscription ( gives him access to SC Gold ) or he is still on a free trial of some sort.

If your willing to spend $19.99 you can sign up to SC Gold.

This gives you all the stats, and most impressively live SC scores.

      Hope that helps ..

  19. Need some help SCT Community
    this my current backline.

    Hurn, Lloyd, Whitfield, Hore,
    Moore, Duursma, Answerth, Clark

I need a rd 14 player for Whitfield.

Tu: Laird and 32 k in the bank.
Td: Milera and 125k in the bank
    Which would give me one
downgrade and a double up grade
    next week. Probably Moore and
Hore out for Sicily, Ryan or
    Williams .
