Although I appreciate reading your footy knowledge based posts & your 1 liners weekly Deano, this was not ya best comment to date!
As a father of a 8 year old that was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Luecemia at 3 1/2 years old & struggled in life right up to 12 months ago… I find your comment not only shallow but very very dissapointing.
Cancer is no laughing matter & should never be used in disrespect!

My comment was very serious hence not using any smiley faces or exclaimation marks although in hindsight I can see how it can be misinterpreted as jocular.
I was initially offended by The Fanatic’s post as it demeans Sam’s cancer fight by implying his return would benefit his fantasy football team.
Rather than entering into a tirade, the intent of my comment was to put into perspective the fact that fighting cancer far outweighs playing elite football, let alone fantasy footy.
My best mate was diagnosed with testicular cancer through a positive ASDA drug test whilst he was a National hockey player and I was side by side with him through the chemo and subsequent secondary cancer in his lymph nodes which he nearly died from during surgery. I know from this experience that going to his second Olympics in Atlanta was the furtherest thing from his mind during that time. My wife and both parents are also cancer survivors and like you, i find jokes about it highly distasteful.
I acknowledge that given the oft jocular nature of several of my posts and without this context, I should have used a more serious tone.
I apologise for the offense the post caused.

I had absolutely no idea that Sam Rowe was suffering from cancer until I read your last post above. It was an innocent query given the Blues injuries to Kreuzer and their promotion of young Levi Casbolt. I do, however, take umbrage to the fact that you’d think I’d make fun of such a thing. Let me assure you in the strongest possible terms I would never stoop to such a level. I couldn’t imagine anyone on this site would.
Hopefully we’ll be reading about Sam’s successful recovery in the very near future.

Ive got Hale and Giles (with Redden and McCauley) as my rucks with Roughy playing up forward. I’m considering moving Roughy to the ruck and dumping Giles. I’m a little apprehensive to pull a trigger on anything with Bailey looming?!?!?!?!
