Premiums
Brett Deledio ($609,200, 123, 114) – Your backline or midfield must have him. Its that simple. Still yet to score under 100 for the year.
Heath Shaw ($562,100, 110, 68) – Heater in Rounds 1-3 opens his account with some reasonable scores – all sub-100 – then takes a couple of weeks off then comes back and smashes out a 120, a 142, & a 133. Does anyone else reckon he might have put some money on himself for most possessions in that time off?
Brendon Goddard ($522,800, 108, 91) – If you don’t have BJ yet, get on this week. $522k for a guy averaging 108?!? Upcoming games before his R13 bye: Sydney, Richmond, GC and Adelaide. Nath’s Super Stats Predictor has him scoring between 102 and 138 in all of those games. Get. On.
Midpricers
Beau Waters ($493,400, 99, 75) – Here’s how Beau has rolled since R4: 100, 100, 120, 94, 132. Those who have had him since the start of the season when he was $390k would be standing in front of a mirror and telling themselves how clever they are right about now.
Brian Lake ($421,500, 87, 37) – 35% of teams include Mr Harris so I’m not revealing a helluva lot here. The fact is though that since his one game holiday in R4 he’s just got better and better: 85, 91, 108, and 112. As a purchase of Harro at the beginning of the year for $287k I’m ecstatic with his output.
Matt Maguire ($404,700, 83.50, 56) – I’ve reluctantly included Goose in this week’s Movers because I can’t honestly push him on you but his scores have been somewhat decent for his price. Last 4 weeks: 93, 75, 109, 82. God knows he sees a lot of it playing in the Lions backline.
Matthew Warnock ($318,000, 64, 15) – Over the last 2 weeks he’s thrashed out an 89 and a 90. I’m not recommending him. I’m just letting you know that he’s caught my eye.
Value Picks
Sam Darley ($113,200) – Went Kapow! in his first game for an 82. If you’re desperate to ship Ellis off then grab him this week. Otherwise wait for more evidence (a) that he’ll get played and (b) that he’s any good.
I can’t just have one name in the VP’s so I’ll also put you onto Jacob Brennan ($158,200, 57, -27) for the 87 he scored in R7 and his BE but with it sandwiched between a 47 and a 37 (both unvested) I’m not mad keen on him.

Great write up yet again Mottsy…. I agree that Lakey has to be one one the value picks of the year. Barring injury, he’s not leaving my team.

PA got rid of Newy just b4 his price dipped at the end of R2 for Lids. I fell for that old “will get more midfield time this year” garbage and haven’t looked back since.

Brilliant write up as usual, good to see I have all three premos plus lake. Quick question is it worth me bringing in Scotland and birchell this week for mohr and Morris or just do one and bring in Ablett for Coniglio. I just think Coniglio will go up more

There’s an unwritten rule at SCT and that’s you should post your comment/s in the right thread, maybe it should be written?? #justsayin

He’s gone walkabout this season RB, considering SCT introduced the Omen button this year (delete button). He’s rants late on a Friday or Saturday night were GOLD & some of the best post’s I’ve ever read.

I would have said Omen was more the Fev of SCT…. went out, got pissed, said a heap of stuff that he prob meant but wouldn’t write if sober…. woke up and said sorry. Actually, isn’t Omen under a new name this year? or maybe I’m thinking of Ollie.

I fell for the Chris Newman ‘more time in the midfield’ jibe. Didn’t think Lake was going to go well, he’s freakin killing it.

I picked up Beau Waters last weekend …. he was sitting at ~80 at 1/4 time …. thought i was in for a win on the back of him, only to lose it by 10 points.

just to clarify… not comparing Bowden to Lids, but the relatioship between SC points and the Downlow.

I think Sam Darley proved during the preseason that he is good, but (just like Miles who also played well in the preseason) this makes it more concerning that he hasn’t been played and may not have good job security due to not really being considered in their best 22.

I reckon he might be OK with Bugg playing more of a MID rotational role in his three games prior to the bye and Kennedy being more of a lockdown option (listed as “shoulder” as opposed to “rested” may mean an extended period out.)
I am worried about the Miles scenario however my mail as to why he is playing magoos is to improve his DE. Will hopefully be a great DG option during the byes though.

Its the risk with any rookie. If they havnt played yet, why not? Injury? Not in best 22? Not ready for AFL yet? With Darley im actually confident he will stay in the team and play the majority of games maybe having every 3rd or 4th week off like everyone else. The reason for this is because he is a good player, plus Sheeds said most the young players will only play 14 games this year (don’t have reference on me but can find if necessary) to try not to burn them all out. Therefore he might have come in for that transfer period and play the latter part of the year. While someone else makes way (not sure for who though).
I may be wrong and will wait till he’s on the bubble but if he can get solid scores and Sheeds and Co show interest in him im jumping on.
