Players Under The Microscope – Freemantle v Melbourne

Written by Motts on February 21 2010

If it was on Free to Air I’d be able to watch it however it’s not so I’m just going to have to review the stats and read up on the game from the papers.

BACKS

J Atkinson – $343,100 and averaging 81

MIDS

A Morabito – $164,200 Rookie

RUCKS

D Hille – $311,300 and averaging 73 (Hoping to get an increase in price and trade up …. tip from Motts)

FORWARDS

M Williams – $303,600 and averaging 57 … i’m expecting bigger things from him this year.

No Pav for me for the first time in years …… hope i don’t regret that.

  1. Mate, it’s Freo vs MELB, not Ess.

Players of interest for me will be McPhee (what role and therefore, scoring potential?), McPharlin (may be ready to step it up after injury), Silvagni (possible cheapy with mature body), Mayne (a lot of murmur around the place) and of course, Trengove and Scully.

You’ve got to consider the Pav esp if preseason reports about more of a fwd role are correct – he is a gun in front of the sticks!

  2. Aaaaaah, I’d happily placed Trengove as a starter (too expensive to be a bench player) on the strength of what I saw in the SANFL finals last year – certainly not a lock after last night. Scully: same boat (minus the SANFL reference). Barlow: now on the radar as a mature cheapy. McPharlin and Silvagni: stay on the radar. Mayne: ? McPhee: bluurgh.

Sandi’s and Ballantyne’s scores were worth noting but considering the opposition……………… Maybe Mundy!? Aaah, as usual, more questions than answers.

One shining light was Pav – you may want to rethink that one, Duck!
