2013 Byes

Punting R15, 2012

by Motts on July 5, 2012

Only had 3 of my 9 legs get up last week but do you think I’m going to let that little setback dampen my enthusiasm? Pffffffft.

Collingwood v Carlton (MCG) – Collingwood 40+ – 2.45

Can smell the blood in the water and with the sting of the ten goal drubbing fresh in their minds will go in for the kill.

North v WC (Bellerive) – North 1-24 – 3.80

Do you remember West Coast’s last away win? I didn’t either. It was in R5 against Richmond at Etihad. Since then they have lost away games at Etihad, the MCG and the Gabba to Essendon, Collingwood and Brisbane. This is my pick of the round.

Melbourne v Richmond (MCG) – Richmond 40+ – 2.20

Richmond have a point to prove and are a much better team than Brisbane who beat Melbourne by 10 goals last week. My question regarding who would kick Melbourne’s goals was valid – Sam Blease the only multiple goalkicker with 2.

Sydney v Brisbane (SCG) – Sydney -36.5 – 2.00

Brisbane’s been travelling well lately with good wins over Melbourne and the Dogs but that just improves Sydney’s line for this game. Take advantage of it.

St Kilda v Essendon (Docklands) – Essendon 1-39 – 2.15

The Saints will be keen to show they’re a better team than the one that was well beaten by North last week. Essendon’s class will show out but it’ll be close.

Port v Adelaide (Footy Park) – Adelaide 1-39 2.20

Its always close between these two. Adelaide will get up though.

Hawthorn v GWS (MCG) – Hawthorn 100+ – 2.20

A sunny day has been forecast for Melbourne on Sunday meaning not even the rain will protect GWS from the wrath of the Hawks at home.

GC v Geelong (Carrara) – Geelong -62.5 – 2.00

A shower or 2 is forecast for Carrara on Sunday but I doubt that will stop a ravenous Cats outfit from devouring the hapless Suns.

Fremantle v WBD (Subiaco) – Fremantle 1-39 – 2.20

The Dogs haven’t been much chop lately, well all year really, but they’re playing Freo who aren’t anything special themselves but should scrape home only because they’re playing at home.

If you were silly enough to multi all legs up, it’d pay you $1,875/1. Maybe throw $1 at it.

Had 8 of 9 come in on the line multi last week (thanks for nothing Pies) but did pocket $90 on a straight H2H so away we go again.

Line bet $10
Collingwood -28.5 1.90
North +15.5 1.90
Richmond -33.5 1.90
Sydney -34.5 1.90
Essendon -17.5 1.85
Adelaide -26.5 1.90
Geelong -59.5 1.90
Freo -32.5 2.00

Combined odds of $174.06

I like it Juddy! Very much in the game. I think ours are fairly similar. I really rate the Roos this week. Even put a tenner on them to win 1-39 @ 3.25. I didn’t have the guts to tip them though…

P.S. I’ve been betting for over 10 years so I think I’m qualified to comment.

Yes but have you played the games you are betting on? ;-)

I am also going to run a pineapple on
Essendon over 39.5 $3.10
Collingwood over 39.5 $2.40
Sydney over 39.5 $2.30
total $17.12 for a 855.60 payout.

Juddy, how ’bout you meet me at the back of the TAB to sort this out…?

Not a bad way to spend your last $17.12 ;) . Saints undermanned, Blues are rubbish and Lions are generally useless away from home. Good luck!

Being the season punter that you are saying you are Yio, maybe you could answer something for me.
I tried to go down and put my “mega end of year multi” (see above) and it wouldn’t let me do it. There was no one to ask but is it because I was effectively betting the same thing in the case of collingwood and GC? If GC don’t win a game then of course they will finish last and if Collingwod finish as Minor Premier then they will also be top ranked Vic team and Top 4 finishers?

Gr8 reading Yio & Juddy!

how ’bout you meet me at the back of the TAB!!!!

One of my apprentices has just told me that from the start of 2007 season, Melbourne has played the Tigers 14 times & the current telli is 7/7?? If this is at all true, is that worth a redback?

Juddy but not THE Juddy July 6, 2012 at 2:22 pm

That is true but this year Richmond is an OK side whereas Melbourne is absolute shite and they have no Jamar and no Clarke and no way to kick goals. Richmond by 40 for mine

As far as I understand it, MJ below is spot on Juddy. You can’t multi legs that are directly related e.g. Roos win and Roos win 1-39, or Hawks win GF and play in GF.

In your case, you have bet twice on GC and 3 times on the Pies which are respectively directly related. i.e. the same team.

Should at least be able to multi the following though:

Jobe Watson Brownlow 3.50
Lance Franklin Coleman 1.50
Minor Premiers – Collingwood 4.00
Gold Coast to not win a game – 3.50

I tried to multi the top 2 of each group for the Euros and it wouldn’t let me do it.

Cheers Juddy,

As the Tigers have made 7 changes & all the turmoil throughout the week………might just chuck $20 on the Demons for an upset!

I had the same problem Juddy i went to put a bet on that was paying $14,000/1 and a message came up saying you have exceeded the $10,000 limit.I didnt know theres a limit on the odds you put a bet on.

200 up on Roughy first goal. 200 down on the nags.

Fingers crossed that i didnt lose the ticket worth 2 Bradmans I have on Jobe to win the Brownlow at $17 when I moved house on the weekend, can’t find the thing anywhere.

Are you sure the Odds are right in that multi Motts?

Also going to put on a big end of the year results bet

Minor Premiers – Collingwood 4.00
Top Vic Team – Collingwood 2.50
To Make Top 4 – Collingwood 1.40
To Make Top 8 – Geelong 1.45
To Miss Top 8 – Carlton 1.22
Gold Coast to not win a game – 3.50
Wooden Spoon – Gold Coast 1.85
Jobe Watson Brownlow 3.50
Lance Franklin Coleman 1.50

Combined odds $841.80

Then will run the same bet while adding Collingwood to make the GF for 2.50 to bring the odds up to $2104.72

Tell me what you think..A chance or No hope

Well-loved. Like or Dislike: Thumb up 11 Thumb down 1

Gold Coast will win one game at least. If only to spite you when Guy, Gaz and co read up on your get-rich scheme.

Gold Coast will beat GWS in round 20 when the first-year players start to get very tired. Also, the Suns will see this game as their only hope to win one this season, and will go hard at it (not that they don’t every week – just even harder)!

Pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to multi those up Juddy. Collingwood minor premiers, top Vic team and making top 4 are dependent on each other (essentially the same results).

For example, last year I tried to be sneaky using my $50 free bet I won to put on
Pendlebury for the Brownlow $7.00
Collingwood player to win Brownlow $4.50
Multi: $31.50

Obviously wouldn’t let me, but in the end I put it on a Collingwood player to win and brought home the chocolates.

You must be psychic MJ. I was just writing a post about this down below as yours came through. So it must be the case then. Bugger. I’ll have to think of another then.
Cheers

BAM!!! And just like that most multis are GONESKI. Stupid Collingwood. They Screwed me last week and they did it this week too just a little earlier. Even Motts will have gone the Pies to do it.

I still have 1 on the go as I got on Carlton +28.5 before the bounce but I am not holding high hopes that it will come in
Carlton +28.5
North +15.5
Richmond -33.5
Sydney -34.5
Adelaide -26.5
Essendon -17.5
GWS +90.5
Geelong -59.5
Bulldogs +32.5
Paying $330.95 and I’ve got $10 on it.
