if he is ready though he may not have the necessary preseason to deliver the scores we’re expecting.

In a year where the byes will be a major issue for coaches there is very little chance that I could be tempted to pick up a guy who has averaged less than 12 games a season and has only once played over 14. I know that he is an absolute gun, but it is way to risky for me. This year more than ever you need players of the durable variety!

You can’t afford them? You MUST have Sandi

With the substitution rule likely to increase the % game time of the first string ruckmen and also the wealth of cheap rookies, i’d invest the extra coin in two quality ruckmen, ensure they never have a bye at the same time, and a decent third string ruck for the four bye rounds that you’ll cop (two from each of your ruckmen of course). As usual R4 should be the cheapest of cheapies.

That said:

$943,100 … you can have Sandi and Jolly which is currently my thinking

OR

$838, 900 … Mumford & Jolly which fits your cash criteria

Like the use of lower case in the title in line with their branding Motts – always looking at a potential endorsement opportunity!

“Undergraduate degree” then – most contemporaries of mine just call it their degree or bachelor so what subject was the thesis on?

I did a postgrad MBA mate. No theses, just a ton of reading, syndicate group meetings in peoples’ empty workplaces on weekends and no social life for almost 4 years. Thank God that’s over.

Not liking the fact that lake is out for 10 weeks
Lake was my second pick backman behind goddard had him from the start last year when no else had him in which he domiated (compared to other backman) and i dought many would of picked him had he been fit right now

does anyone else think that colyn silvia is due for a breakout year? If he plays in the midfield as he did in the intra-club match at 422K and sitting in your forward line he could be as valuable as a Rioli or a Didak? anyone agree? Motts could be another Poll opportunity. “who is ready to brake the shackles” ?

total agree ..colin sylvia would be a good choice (DPP) this year , havent picked him in the past , but this year is different …I thought i should mention that melbourne should of made colin sylvia (age 25) the captain and keep brad green (age 30) his vice captain due to the age and long term stayability of the melbourne club ..didak would be a good pick up after their 2 bye (round 14) ….rioli great player but a little injury prone of late ..might be a smokey ..if he stays fit..

petrie is a fwd / ruck , i would bring him forward and get a cheap ruck / forward ..Eg j.tippet (cold coast) lobbe (port adlaide) stanley (st kilda) and stick him on the ruck bench and swap hale or petrie.up forward or ruck duties.. other ruck/ forwards are tippet (adelaide)

How’s Drummond looking for season 2011, surely missing 6 weeks will decline his ability this year. What do you guys think of Sam fisher being a replacement for him?? Or should I stick with drummy??

Other than 2009 when he played 19 games, his best season tally for the past 6 years is 14 games in 2005 so for durability alone I would steer clear from Joshy.
There are plenty of like priced Def to pick who will give you a better outcome.

Last year we were spoilt with the returns of Malceski and Waters in particular who became keepers and Kennelly/Macguire were good cash cows, however this year other than Otten who is still unproven over multiple years (unlike the former four) and Petrie who is a must have after missing only two games in the previous seven seasons, there is far less choice at the lower price range that stand out for value.
I have my eye on the following players coming back from injury this season albeit some of them not receiving the Champion Data discounts we have seen in recent years:
Ben McGlynn
Ryce Palmer
Liam Anthony
Robbie Gray
I acknowledge they are all mid-pricers however given the bye anomoly and increased trades I believe the past strategy of either premiums or rookies could be problematic this year given that everyone is looking for the next Barlow/Pods/Rocky/Silvagni/Broughton etc. and I believe last year was an anomoly in this field as the recruiters were so focussed on young talent so as to lock them in before GC/GWS had the chance to contract them.
Intreested to hear your thoughts.

only one player really catches the eye on that list ,and thats liam anthony ..but im not saying they are not another b .waters ,they could be . we are blessed this year with so many rooks to pick from …. 3 other older discard players could be at bargain price,s this year are brad miller ( richmond ) , jack anthony (fremantle )and daniel harris from the gold coast …

Harris is a lock no doubt but he comes under the rookie category on price.
Miller’s best SC season ave in the past 6 years is 65 so can’t see the move to the Tiges improving this markedly.
Jack’s problem is whether he will fit into the Docker’s lineup and there is much doubt on that IMO.

On that, i’ve compiled for my own use a list of all the DPP players and their prices in Excel Spreadsheet (was avoiding doing real world work) but have no way of sharing the information with the masses.

Motts, Big Sexy or Duck, maybe you could send an email my way and maybe you could figure out a way of getting the info on the site.
