Lenny, Lenny, Lenny….. Everybody’s favorite Saint. He’s a champion in every sense of the word…. he has Guts, Determination, Consistency, Skill, Balance, a big Engine, a true competitor with a never say die attitude. BUT, he’s just had a knee reco, he’s just turned 31 and surely the end is closing in, does he have one, two or even 3 good seasons left. He only managed 2 games in 2011 before doing his knee, and is $422k. I don’t have him right now, but know a lot of people that do, and I may yet swing him back in. What’s your take?

At that price, as long as he doesn’t completely blow in the nab cup it will be hard to say no. He is a perennial high scorer and i have not seen much in the news about him having any after effects of the reco.

Is he going to be in the best six midfielders in the comp by the end of the season? No, which means he’ll have to be traded up at some point, so pointless to start with him. Why spend $422K to make $100K at best, when you can spend $110K and make $150K plus?

Sub-Clause 28: It does depend on your strategy….. if you want Lenny and Lake up front instead of Pendles/Swan and No-Name (just for example) then it might work for you. As you may get someone for 110k who gets dropped/injured within first 2 weeks and your stuck as opposed to two guys who will play every week if fit. Anyway, just putting it out there that it’s not that stright forward.
I don’t have him out right now, but also may be swayed b4 Round 1.

@ Cam – 422k for a person who will average around 100 is a steal. Sure that’s not top 6 but he is a lock @ M6 until you upgrade the rest of your team. After injuries, upgrades etc if you have a trade or two then you can upgrade him. Nothing wrong with a 100 average sitting in M6 until mid season.

Did not realise that score updates weren’t part of the deal. I’ll happily pay $3 for the app – two coins, nothing. Even payed the $20 for the SC Gold – kinda shit with money and needed something else to read. I currently don’t have him, Barlow sitting in place atm. my theory was just that he doesnt need an upgrade until almost last. He can just keep moving down mid spots as I milk my rookies and put more super premo’s in.

Interesting GG. Very interesting. First team I think I’ve seen that has gone 5 biggish names in the MIDS but still stayed pretty strong across the board.
Taking some big punts with Hurn, Hayes, Brown and Christensen but potentially they all have massive upside.
