As I said during the week. I thought Rockliff & Peterson would struggle to get in this week. Just have to hope that J Brown, Pods & Fumbleton play
Any word on how sore D Martin is?

unless you’ve got a top line ruckman, they’re generally pretty useless anyway, just one of the risks you took taking Warnock as an on-field player.

what was wrong with Warnock? he was playing alright, his second efforts were great. Bad decision Ratten, now i got no ruckmen to rely on.

why pick Duncan if he’s already gone up heaps as a cash cow, and is no certainty to play this week anyway… Wouldn’t someone like Phil Davis be a better go?? at rock bottom price

Both are sideways trades which over the season will probably earn you nothing. If you feel you have to trade try this. Look at downgrading a non performer to a rookie (Davis/Fyfe etc-
preferably in Fwds as this is weaker with less bench coverage) and upgrading to a premium.
I would not trade this week with this team as Silvagni probably only has this game before he is back on the rookie list and will be ripe for upgrade at just under 300K. Nason is also approaching his BE and JPOD is about 3/4 weeks away.
The best advice is don’t sideways trade mid pricers that don’t reach your preseason expectations.

Yeah .. i’ve lost Martin, Dangerfield, Warnock, Rockliff and the potential to lose Vince and J Brown plus also PODs and Waite. AHHHHH!!!!!

If teams are as selected i’ll have 22 on the field but with no coverage in fwds, ruck or mids.

Made one trade to get Phil Davis in and will do another to get Judd in for Ball or Vince. I’d like to trade out Ball more of the two SC duds but can’t afford a 0 in my midfield if Vince doesn’t play.

a lot of people have PODS 139,000 or so and the guy i’m VS and most of my league have him and a few could start him this week and if my opponent does then that’s bascially cancelling out his score but if i find someone who could outscore him (Jaensch) then i could get an advantage
Plus Jaensch is in a struggling team while PODS has to compete with Byrnes, Chappie, Moons, Hawkins and Johnson

Hey Motts (and everyone else),

Looks like I may stuggle this week. My forward line looks as though it has taken a turn for the worst. Currently it stands with the following players:

O’Keefe / Pavlich / Harvey / Higgins / Medhurst / Rioli / J.Pod
(Emergencies: Rockliff / Dangerfield)

Given the events of this week I am thinking of trading as follows:
- Dangerfield for P.Davies
- Upgrading either Rioli to Chapman or Medhurst to Didak or Goodes.
- Naming P.Davies as my emergency, given Rockliff has been droped.

What do you think? I also have no emergencies this week in my mid-field, as Martin has been dropped and Howlett has been named as an emergency only ~ looks like a grim week.

See ya,
Leesa.

I am presuming that you using the 1st trade to facilitate the 2nd. Take the Chapman option, he is a SC scorer and if you can afford it take Grundy as well, not Davis.

Good to see you back, Leesa. Tell me, did you beat Sir T last week?

Brought Davis in myself this week and Dangers has to go so that one’s a no-brainer.

The other one is a little harder but my advice is to go Rioli for Didak or Goodes. Chappie is fully priced right now and I still have concerns about his hammies.

Good luck!

Davis of the Internet April 29, 2010 at 9:21 pm

Didn’t WANT to trade, but had to many passengers. Went for Pavlich, trading out Bob Murphy, and then downgraded Dangerfield to Davis.

Means my Forwards are a lil light on this week, but with 250K+ in the bank, 13 trades still to go and a price rise for Davis/Pods on the way, Im happy. And I’ve got enough to knock off my league guys I reckon.

Big question now: McVeigh or Bastinac on the Bench?

Any feedback appreciated.
My midfield has Mitchell, Boyd and Martin all unavailable.
I have 90k in bank
Do i take a zero or do i trade Mitchell out for another premium
Choices are Higgins, Pavlich, Gibbs or Goodes (looking for DPP’s)

Thoughts please.

Those with Mitchell are looking at trading him out – I don’t have him and have earmarked bringing him in next week after he bottoms out. That is the vaguery of SC. Having said that, I would upgrade him to Gibbs if I were you as Boyd is consistent and Martin will not be ripe for upgrade for another two weeks after his ton.

Two trades this week:
Gray for Davis. This left me with an unexpectedly high amount of cash, so instead of getting rid of Ball, which I had planned, I dumped Mitch Banner and brought in Pendlebury. I know, maybe a bit silly, because I wanted Judd, but left just a little short. Decided it was better to have Ball, as although, he’s losing money, he’s playing as opposed to Banner who isn’t. And with Martin out this week, wanted the extra security. Also thought that Pendles has dropped $60k, so a good time to pick him up just before his price rise.
What does all this mean? I’m probably stuck with Ball for the whole season (just like last year it was Malceski – love to have him in the team this year!), and this will no doubt lead to me whingeing every bloody week on here about that bloody Luke Ball guy!

Only reply if you agree it was all sound thinking.

good trade. i have ball as well, and he will come good. just think how good he would be if he could hit a few targets by foot!! to go along with his tackles and contested possies, he has potential, hence why i have him (btw im a pies man so i might be a bit biased) lol

Guys appreciate some help, have Sam Butler, Mitchell and Martin in the mids this week. Have to trade to avoid the dreaded donut. Thoughts are Mitchell for Ablett or Martin for a premium of some description such as Swan or Pav.

Martin will be back soonish. I think just giving the guy a rest. Martin still has plenty of upside, apparently only needs a 23 to break-even in his next match.
However, Mitchell has great scoring potential which is what I guess you picked him for in the first place. Remember, just like shares, you only lose if you cash in.
Tough call. I know nada about Sam Butler, so can’t comment.

if u can do mitchell to ablett with just one trade, then do it. Don’t waste two trades though….

Butler was a smoky I picked up who averaged 94 for the first 2 rounds before a broken cheek. should be back next week. Could be traded for a premium like swan or Pav etc

Help with midfield anyone?? Do I trade Callan Ward out (hasn’t played)?Do I go for an in form Chapman, Goddard, OKeefe etc. or a D. Swan who has dropped 70K but potential to fire up? Or do I trade out a rookie like Ziebel who has gained then wait for Ward to come good?
