TRADED OUT:
No surprise to see Deven Robertson at the top of this list for obvious reasons. In yet another blow to Supercoaches, he has worked an ACL tear into his season, depriving us of one of the best rookies for the year so far. Connor Budarick has not been whelming for those who gambled on his new role at the Doggies after his first round heroics against the Lions. Even when he does return from injury, he has never averaged over 60 against the teams he may return against. Time for him to go.
Noah Anderson is not a must trade. I don’t own him, but unless I had no alternative, I would hold. Suggestions are it’s a week or two off and if that’s the case, bench him. If it is miraculously one week unleash him against the Hawks next round where his last two outings have been over 150.
I think for astute SC followers, Jack Lukosius was always going to be a risky pick up despite that recent scoring spike that made his BE attractive to a lot of coaches. History shows his best and worse case scores against most sides is around 100 points, not the consistency we would like. For those hoping the spike scores would continue, we’re sorry but it is now time for him to be put out to pasture for good now that the Power has decided to rest him for a couple of months.
Dane the magician Zorko has tricked his calf and despite the club saying a two to three week break, history suggests that 37 year olds take a bit longer with calf injuries. My gut says that if he’s a way to a bigger dog in defence, then use the cash now if you have the bank to do it.
Jack Watkins may not even get a chance to defend his 80 BE even though he would be low odds to do so. Going to lose money if he does play and that is not what we brought him in for. If he’s not named he can stay while you fix other areas but be sure to sell him before he plays again.
Caleb Windsor. What can I say! He looked so good in his new role pre season that I locked him in defence expecting big things, but now he’s just another failed mid pricer not even being serviceable but also losing money. I’ve had so many injuries to now I have had to hold him and take the hits but he cannot stay any longer. BE of 85 and a season high score of just 70 and the Lions on the horizon is not the time to hope he hits his BE in any hail Mary moves. Only has a career ave against Brisbane of 35 so read the room folks.
Not sure what to make of the trade in numbers a couple of weeks ago, and the trade out numbers now, for the Pies distributor Dan Houston. Has two tons in his last four and averages 89 on the season which is OK for the price. Averages 95 career against the Blues, and 83 last year in two games. If he reaches his average, he will only lose a few grand, so if you have other areas of priority you could hold. Jordan De Goey‘s consistency has always been a problem but it seems not so this year, he’s been consistently mediocre. Losing money and out for at least one week I’d be booting him if I had him. Use the $300k to grab a rookie and save for an upgrade elsewhere. It’s not like there are a lack of options in the midfield, especially with the influx of new DPPs.
Can’t see any reason to remove the former number one pick from the line up at this stage. Jagga Smith is averaging 78, well above his BE of 52 and is capable of tonning up again so I don’t think his cash flow is dried up yet. Scored a season low of 53 last week and we hardly saw him so I’m backing him in. Probably the last of your starting rookies to trade out.
TRADED IN:
Milan Murdock sits at the top of this list in a reprise of past lists for the Eagle recruit, and rightly so. If, as expected, he is named for a game in the derby you just have to jump on and join the millions who already own him, especially considering he is a bubble boy ready to earn us an expected $85k in a week.
Flynn Perez is an interesting one. with scores of 57 and 64 and on the bubble, he is primed to make upwards of $40k. His role looks good and he is passing the eye test mostly, but he did it last week minus Carl Amon and I wonder if this affects his output. I also wonder how long Jack Scrimshaw stays out of the side and how much affect this has if he returns soon. I guess I’m a little worried we jump on a good cash cow for a week only to see him benched too soon.
Noah Anderson to Christian Petracca is a popular trade this week. Not what I would do (see above) but not a bad move for those with stacked midfields and not enough power in the forwards. If Tracca stays injury free he will be the big dog in the forward line.
I think we’ve missed the boat with Josh Rachelle as a money making stepping stone as he has already increased by more than $80k, but I don’t think that matters much. He’s got the role now and he’s proving to be an effective scorer in his own right. He is projected to rake in another $20 odd K against the Saints, coincidently the team he scored 107 against last year. He also has a three round average of 116 and whilst you may cop the odd stinker, you will also be in a position to ride the highs and pocket ceiling points when on offer. It’s a move I’m toying with along with a Rankine comparison.
Don’t mind the Isaac Heeney move either. Absolute star of the competition with free roam to do what he pleases. Scoring avenues are a plenty and playing in a pretty dominant team at the minute. Expensive so no need to sell the farm to get him in but does have a very attractive BE and more money to make this week. The list of the top 10% of coaches all have him in their trades this week suggesting he is a good buy.
Since going back, Archie Roberts has not gone under a ton and is averaging 107 across the short season so far. BE of 29 and expected to make around $36k this week, you could do worse. He looks assured with ball in hand and kicks it more than handballs and is generally composed hitting targets coming out which is great for SC. Despite the Essendon thing he is still scoring, so up to you if you trust him to continue. A bit of a caveat however, he has never scored a ton against any of his next five opponents so that’s where that trust too continue this hot streak is up to you alone.
NAS is starting to get comfortable with his role and more used to the attention and has a pretty open fixture on the horizon with no known taggers in his next four or five games. Jake Soligo missing this week will ensure Adelaide has to fix holes before allocating a tagger to Nasiah with a likely match up in the form of Max Michalanney, especially to pair up when he goes forward. However, unlikely to be a hard tag. Good time to grab the $2m man at $45k off his starting price.
As for all the rookie buys this week, my favourite would be Jacob Farrow, despite a price rise already. Still has money to make with a BE of -57 and seriously passes the eye test with his composure and assuredness by foot. Even better, with a three round ave of 80 he is an onfield option each week he’s in this mood. I got him last week and left 102 points on the pine, ouch. Angus Anderson looked pretty good last week and will be a good option but is not necessary this week. You still have another look at him tonight against the Blues if you don’t want to go early, knowing some of the history of that move. I feel Thomas Edwards will be a bit slower burn after he makes an estimated $35k this week. Not sure what will be happening in that space at the Dons and feel the security thing is a little less than assured.
Perez came in when Amon was injured.
Last week it was Scrimshaw who was ‘managed’, gave Perez another week. Scrimshaw should be back.
the hawks have to replace Chol, but that will probably be Schubert or McCabe.
Finn Maginness had 31 disposals and 14 tackles last VFL game. he might get a re-call.
Think the Hawks will be keen to get some games into Perez.
Scrimshaw will return, they may play Sicily forward to stretch the Port defence.
Alternatively Cashler Dear may replace Chol.
Think Hawks will also be looking to rest Gunston in coming weeks.
TU: Petracca
TD: Nas
Depends on your team structure 1 is mid back other mid forward $ difference little what do you need ?
Very informative reading Cheers
