  1. Thanks, CT. Always surprises me this doesn’t get more traction, pretty much the most important set of numbers.

A few key takeaways from the CBAs:

    – Heeney back to getting a healthy CBA load while Mills time on a wing last week dropped him to 13; hopefully that evens out
    – Dogs a really balanced set of rotations, DPP for Bont and Smith should hold
    – Xerri and Goldy playing closer to a 50/50 than the 80/20 they started the season for those still considering Goldy up FWD
    – Short no longer on the team high CBA load he had when he did the Eagles in for 150 and was looking like D1
    – Cogs and Jelly OB pretty massive in a) settling the Cogs hold debate and b) for those considering Jelly as an M8, had a strong fortnight
    – Most of Crisp’s of touches were in the defensive half last week, that looks to now be borne out by the CBA numbers; not massively significant as he just does 105 anywhere

Kick ins pretty intuitive but a couple of things to note:

    – Not entirely the reason for his drop off but seeing Blakey with 9/10 kick ins and Lloyd only 1 has surely puts a line through him as a pick; that’s 20 points minimum gone out of Lloyd’s scoring stream each week
    – Stewart dealing with a bunch of seagulls down back and still popping off, what a god
    – Dale, Sicily, Sinclair and Rich doing their thing
    – and most interesting Ryan’s second ton this year came with a total monopoly on kick ins; promising that he got them but wonder how sustainable it can be

      1. Being a Ryan owner (regrettably) and Freo supporter I watch him very closely.

He has had a monopoly on kick ins all year. The only time he doesn’t take them is when he’s off the ground or out of position.

The biggest issue with Ryan’s scoring this year has been a massive drop off in contested and intercept possessions. To me this is due to the fact he’s playing a more accountable role usually on the small forwards.

He also annoyingly does not play on and goes short from 2-3 kick-ins every week.

Due to the conditions in the weekend’s game he had his highest CP rate for weeks and consistently used the ball long boosting his disposal % instead of dinky sideways chips.

        That’s my rant done.

  2. Would be nice to see Simmo give Greg Clarke a few more CBA’s 🙂

Big bodied midfielder that gets a stack of contested footy – and tackles hard.

Would really pump his SC scoring if he got more MID time.

And big Maxxy almost 50% / 50% with Jackson this week – so be nice to see the big fella start to get that CBA % up a bit.

  3. Thanks CT!

I’m finding this weekly update super helpful each week for assessing potential trade targets. Awesome stuff

  4. Bought in Goldy three weeks ago for a quick cash grab, with the plan of flicking him at his bye, but Xerri back early is definitely a spanner in the works. With a BE of 114 he might need to go this week.
