Game Chat – Brisbane v Adelaide

Written by Father Dougal on June 28 2020

Where and when: Sunday 28th June at 1:05pm (AEST) at the Gabba

Last time they met: Rd 9, 2019: Adelaide 13.14 (92) lost to Brisbane 13.15 (93)

What it means for the Lions: The Lions need to be able to beat teams like the Crows if they are going to finish in the top 4, and they need to demolish them for the % boost if they want to finish in the top 2. The Lions biggest opponent this week will be overconfidence.

What it means for the Crows: This is yet another chance for the Crows to get playing time into their young players. They are going to have one of those every week this season. Yes, they need their first win, blah blah, you never know, blah of course there is a chance they will win the match blah blah blah….

Supercoach Watch:

Brisbane: Neale! Owners are eager, non-owners are gonna be hiding behind the couch. Starcevich is a great cow, and Zorko’s brave owners will surely be hoping he gets back his magic.

Adelaide: Laird is still good enough not to have been traded out by most of his owners and might still impress. . Doedee sure shook the rust off last week and his owners will be hoping he keeps it up. There are some Crow  rookies that might pan out too.

Father Dougal’s Watch: B Smith. Could do anything.

Father Dougal’s Tip: Last week I wrote: “Last time they played the Crows scored 23 goals. This time I can imagine them scoring 23 points.”  They scored 29.  Seems about right for this week too. The Lions have averaged 72 a match, so that means  a tip of the  Lions by 40.

    1. I voted for Simpkin because he seems entrenched in the guts at North but they are both good options.

It will be interesting to see if Cunnington back affects his mid minutes.

I’m just saying because Wines came in, and Rozee has stunk ever since.
I hope for Simpkin owners he can stay in the guts. The kids an undeniable talent.

I voted Petracca because he seems to have “Finally ” got himself in shape and has now taken Brayshaw’s mid- minutes.
I also think he will kick a few more goals when he is Resting / playing forward.

        Time will tell I guess.

  1. Neale with 4 behinds, if only he kicked just a couple of goals to then see what another beautiful massive score he could have produced
