Game Chat : Collingwood v Essendon

Written by JimmyDee on July 5 2024

Pies v Bombers
MCG @ 7:40 pm AEST

A Pies win leapfrogs the Bombers into the top four.

A Bombers win keeps the Pies out by  six points and leaves the door open for the likes of Port, Brissy and the Cats to gain a four point advantage.

More likely, the Pies continue their run up the ladder and the Dons drop a few spots, but a Friday night blockbuster between these two could produce anything.

  2. TU : VC either Daicos or Merrett tonight
    TD : VC Bont tomorrow
Would be looking at L Ryan for Captain if VC no good.

  3. At this one. Place is filling up.

    Daicos, Zerrett, Riddles and DCam.

No VC sweat. Enjoy the game.

  4. Brought Caldwell in in round 10 instead of Fisher at 350k.
Made the right prediction just brought Fisher and Caldwell into my team in the wrong order

  5. HT thoughts from the ground:

    – Zerrett exquisite, no one working harder, deserves to be on 100
    – Caldwell built in nicely, just lacking a composed side around him and Zezz
    – Daicos quiet by his standards but skilful and under no pressure
    – Dons backline a disgrace, none of Riddles or Martin deserve any points, Martin 17 touches laughable, been a net negative

  6. Well done to those bombers fans!! I think teams are figuring out how to play the pies. If we are to lose I’m glad it’s to another Victorian team.

    1. Managed to hold their composure after that start from Crisp which put them a bit out of sorts. Problem is the fans can’t say Essendon haven’t beaten any top 8 sides now

  7. Disappointed listening to the after match commentary on Fox and there is no mention of how Caldwell had such an impact on this game. Most clearances, CPs, and disposals for Essendon and then 2nd for tackles.
Definitely deserves some credit for this game
