Game Chat: Fremantle v Collingwood

Fremantle v Collingwood
Optus Stadium @ 8:10 pm AEST

The betting Apps have Freo as favourites, but the Tipping Apps have The Pies as favourites – who can it be now?

The Pies are debuting another two, bringing back a rookie and regaining Mihocek and McCreery, while losing Hosking-Elliott, DeGoey, McInness and Markov. And, you have to wonder where Macrae is at in the scheme of things.

The Dockers regain Sean Darcy to upset Jackson owners, but to add strength to the ruck clash against Cameron and Cox in what could be a defining contest.

Tough one to pick but if home ground advantage is ever going to play a role then the Dockers might get it done.

        1. Sorry I’m drunk and annoyed that my pies are playing like shit. I don’t mind losing but when we should be ok and bad kicking is costing us it drives me insane

    1. If you kept him this week he’s a hold until he comes back up.
Hopefully you have the option to loop.

  1. Why did I trade Dean in. Cue owners regret. Should of went Aleer but I suspect both will be spuds (the votes were so overwhelming to Dean).

    1. Similar situation with Darcy on field. Needed a VC loop option so Livingstone was on field with E on Darcy.
Would have been easier if Sweet wasn’t named

  2. My God Freo are a tough watch. They have been absolutely awful. No desire to chase. No desire to run to space to support. Fumbly. Poor decision making. Poor skill execution.
Apologies to any Freo supporters out there (FTragic if you’re still around) but it has been a bloody tough watch this game.
Darcy should not be playing and should have been the sub – getting absolutely smashed by Cameron and Cox before he went off – looks cooked.

Sorry everyone – by the way I have no skin in this game whatsoever, just my observations.

  3. You guys think I should field Nyuon on for Wilson so I can loophole Richards’ score?

      1. Thought Freo got the rough end of the umpiring stick for most of the game FBS. Know you and other Pies supporters won’t like it, but that was my view.

Also the free kick for not throwing the ball back to the ump is absolutely real: it’s rule 18.13(b) in the rule book (yes I looked it up and there it is). Understand that it doesn’t feel maybe in the spirit of the game but it’s in there. One to watch for the rest of the round and as ch7 comm team mentioned post game Daicos 100% knew the rule and told all his teammates to get away.

        1. I understand 18.13b relates to a player disposing of the ball in play. (ie. cannot hand it to another player as that is a throw.)
However could have been awarded as intentional timewasting.

        2. ……..it can be deemed a form of deliberately wasting time (which can be a reportable offence)

…….we never used to have kick ins for out on the full either, (refer above)

Umpires have rules, they are not judges who make decisions………

…….and the final thing, …….Have you noticed how more supported the decisions have to be since legal gambling has been involved………

  4. If Freo want to seriously challenge they need to drop Fyfe and back in Johnson to play that role. He was so far off it, and when he did get it he was a liability.

    1. TC

Johnson fumbles the ball way too much but the kid getting screwed is Erasmus
Every week he get 30+ disposals

      1. From the bits I saw Johnson was clean (except 1 HB) and Fyfe was clanger central.
I think they view Erasmus as more of a wing, although I could be wrong there.

  5. Was great fun reading social media about the free kick of not handing the ball back to the ump. Just shows how much one decision shifts a fan base.

Collingwood fans: Rankine ran more than 15 metres without bouncing the ball. It is a free kick, it is in the rules!

Also Collingwood fans: How is that a free kick? Sullivan wasn’t time wasting and it shouldn’t have been paid even if it is against the rules!

    Love it!

    1. That decision did sway the momentum of the game, but it was there. Freo’s confidence surged from that goal and put Collingwood under the pump after thinking they were quite safe. They seemed to be in a shocked state from the decision.
