  2. Looking forward to this one.

I’m good with SDK on my bench. N Martin is in over Baldwin. I like his role more and the cash may come in handy. Anyone else thinking of starting Martin over Rachele at F6 ?

    T/U Rachele.

    T/D N. Martin.

    1. Rachele for me FT.
JS is solid and we’ve seen the scoring capabilities through pre season. looks a real player.

For me i’m considering xerri down to martin for the cash grab.
Xerri named in the pocket has me nervous and CCJ back.

      TU: Xerri
      TD: NMartin

FWD LINE – Dunkley Butters Coniglio Brodie Xerri* Rachele (Durdin Dixon)
Happy to play durdin at F6 that doesn’t bother me if I bank 100k or swing hayes forward and play him F6

      1. I passed on Xerri for Brodie. Martin starts on my Bench . Rachelle on field at F6

        Thanks folks.

I’ve got a feeling the Bombers get up today. I think Shiel may go alright and tempt a few, with Stringer missing.

Who are you all fielding in this one ?

      2. If you go to Martin, is the plan to that 100k for corrective trades (if necessary)? Or use it to make some last-minute changes?

        1. It’ll be banked for a rainy day Daniel. I’m happy with my side and structure outside of xerri/martin.

          1. Given the rest of your forward line, I don’t think rolling Durdin at D6 is going to be a big difference from Xerri – and it’s always nice to have cash for a rainy day (SC or real-life).

  3. I’m a bit torn for my last defender spot.

    Current: Ridley / Short / Whitfield / Sicily / Hinge / McCartin // SDK / _____

I’ve got enough cash to bring in Chapman but not sure I’m getting a big enough upgrade for points on field to make that worthwhile. If I don’t go Chapman, I can bring in a loophole.

    Two-parter:

    TU: Chapman
    TD: loop Sinn or O’Driscoll

    1. If dek goes well say 60+ then O’Driscoll or hamling saves cash if under 50 Chapman or even the mullet from port

      1. Brilliant call Mick – didn’t even realize that the timing worked out for an emergency loop with SDK. But at this point, it’ll have to be Chapman or O’Driscoll as I’m going to bed (it’s 11 pm here and as much as I love SC, I’m not staying up until 3 in the morning for a bench loophole).

  4. Riddles and Parish for me this afternoon.

Baldwin and SDK on the bench.

Passed on Martin because I’m worried about his JS with Snelling and Stringer to come back but watch him do a Hayes (who I passed on from the same reason re Ryder) and pop the f*ck off lol.

  5. Cracking start to the cats! Looks like they’re going faster, hopefully don’t run out of gas halfway through the third 😀

  6. Essendon playing like it’s a final.

At least Martin is looking good. Should have some job security with Langford out

  7. At the game guys, Bombers back 6 struggling majorly but I actually put it down more to the complete lack pressure in our midfield. Shiel looks like the only one working for it out there (not a great sign for us if he is the bombers best player) and the Cats forwards are getting spoonfed by their mids.

SC perspective: Martin looking great and knows how to find the pill (I think JS is good even with some others to come back)
TStewart looking great: ball hardly been in their backline but all Cats switches are going through him and he is running around as the spare in defense.
Ridley: struggling in this game but not overly concerned, as I said Cats mids have no pressure on them so are delivering to their forwards like it’s a training drill.
Stengle looked ok but will come up against better opposition
SDK still looking like a good bench option and will be a slow burn but will generate cash.
Parish working really hard but seems to be outnumbered all the time. Same with Zerrett who worked into the game midway through second quarter but had to get a lot of possies in the backline.

Wish my 6yo old daughter opted to go home at halftime but she wants to stay for the whole game (sad face lol)

    1. “To the death!” says Little Jam lol.

Parish playing out of the goalsquare rn.

Dons gone Shiel, Caldwell and kids on ball, condemning Zerrett to HB and Parish FWD, then somehow they’re shocked the Cats are destroying them at CBs and clearances.

  8. I’m concerned about how many beverages Wighty is gonna consume tonight if this second half is gonna be anything like the first half

    1. Tom – It wouldn’t matter either way with Wighty … but, he may revise his ardent view that they are certainties this year!!!

I did say in the Total Points V Average article that a certain Tomahawk is value – always in the top scoring, never misses games … so he guarantees you points and saving trades … but even I didn’t take my own advice *sad face*

      1. BTW.
        G’day GD.

Which other rookie that you have dropped because worried about his JS?

Just bad luck, mate. It is only round one.

        1. Hey, CT.

Passed on BOTH Hayes and Martin and here they are carving it up. Martin just kicked his fourth lol.

Easy fixes but feel like a moron. Genuinely thought Ryder and Snelling & Stringer were threats to their JS.

          Evidently not lol.

          1. I have both but stranded on bench.

My backline sucks, like last year, trading in Crisp for Lloyd, Ridley and Sam De Koning.
            Only first round!

      2. Don’t think we see him back for a while now unfortunately. Not sure he breaks straight back into the cats 22 again. That’s a huge out for my supercoach structure. My D7&8 was O’Driscoll and de koning. Might reassess the o’driscoll pick now can’t carry two doughnuts on my bench.

  10. Genuinely think this game looks a whole lot different if Stringer was playing. Might only be a 30-40 point game lol

  11. Thank Goodness for rolling lockout rnd 1.
Many changes since start of round
With De Koning injured out goes my loop M cox in backline as now l think l have one next week with De Koning .
Won’t now take Gibcus score who is on bench as E .
Welcome to team Chapman . Expecting big things after shout out from Freo Tragic .
    Farewell Heeney .
Welcome W Brodie . Feel now he has a chance to start well without fyfe and J Hayes / N Martin score in this game this week gives me better options on field in fwd line going forward as JS and sorting potential good. .
Go N Martin who is on field this week.
No pressure T Miller but now need a massive score as C as not taking Macrae .
    Welcome J Ward to bench
    Farewell Mead
May have mid field loop in M Owens next week so banking on Job security of Ward / scoring potential as good cover for mids and possible loop hole with J H Francis if Owens dropped next week

  12. Geez Martin and Hayes on the bench but no option to get their points hurts, need to be more organised with my bench rookies and loopholes.

  13. How good is this kid Martin ???

I’ve now got two $102K rookies ton up on my bench.

At least their both in my side !

Maybe Brodie comes out for a loop ?

    Madness.

    1. I have Martin and Ridley on Field Freo Tragic and would have been happy with combined score of both but this is not what l expected .

  14. FT – did you start Martin in the end?

Some nice junk time recovery work there from Parish – well done young fella…

Yep Hayes and Martin with tons on my bench.I faded Baldwin. Theres some pressure on Rachele and Brodie for forward spots at the Donkeys.

      1. Nice. I got ’em both on the pine too – but Martin was only a late inclusion after team announcements on Thursday – what a scramble that turned out to be with no Lloyd or Darcy named. It also rushed me into a punt on Matt Kennedy over Berry.

Thankfully scored the E on Hayes with the Long loop, but can’t work Martin’s in there but stokes to have the.both.

I missed most of the game, any idea what happened to SDK?

        1. Friendly fire.
Jake Kolodjashnij and SDK collided heavily. Head clash and SDK came off with concussion.

  15. So as well as Hayes on bench without an E on him I also had Durdin and no Martin! Now I remember why this game is so frustrating lol. Congrats to all who started him

  16. 60 point second half by Parish… I’ll take it.

Spent the week deliberating and throwing up Tu/TD polls between him and Jelly and just about threw my tv out the window at halftime!

But 86 is not what I was wanting from a 600k player, especially with Martin rooted on my pine for 1/5 of the cost

    1. Parish score adjusted to 99 Pumba – but he looked terrible in the first qtr when the big boys were throwing their weight around didn’t he. Similar to you, I was deliberation my over Dangers and Track all pre-saeason versus Parish. Lucky escape today, but unsure if he’s a keeper?

  17. I noted at halftime I wasn’t concerned about Ridley but I must admit I got more concerned as the game went on. Have no idea what position he was playing and I don’t think he knew either.
Didn’t take many kick outs either which was a concern.

    1. Funnily enough that was seen as a positive by some in the preseason because he’d get intercepts instead.
