Game Chat – Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide

Written by Thommo on July 3 2021

Where and When: Marvel Stadium, Saturday 3rd July at 7:40pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Rd 13, 2020: Port Adelaide 9.14 (68) def Hawthorn 9.4 (58) at Adelaide Oval

Last five H2H: Hawthorn 3 – Port Adelaide 2

Thommo Watch:

Hawthorn – Tommy Mitchell is starting to look more like his old self and plenty of teams have Newcombe and Bramble holding down a bench spot.

Port – Boak, Wines and Houston

Match Preview – This is not the match-up Port wanted right now. The Power are looking rather shakey, despite winning 4 from their last 5 and sitting in fourth spot, while the Hawks are starting to look like an AFL side. Port are obviously favourites to win this match but nobody will be shocked if the Hawks push the Power all the way at the MCG.

For Hawks’ fans, we want revenge for the Wingard trade that screwed us royally.

Thommo’s Tip: Port by 1 points (season record 23.5/42)

  1. No late changes.

    Medical Subs:
    Hawthorn – Ollie Hanrahan
    Port Adelaide – Martin Frederick

  2. Projections of my 2243 vs 2263 in a must win.

Current score is 1473 vs 1331, with it coming down to my Titch and MacRae (C), versus Steele, Pendles and MacRae.

TU: stick with MacRae as skipper
    TD: Make Titch skipper

  3. Let’s go hawkers! Will fill nice to watch us for the first time this season and not have Phillips stink up my team. Him to danger this week has probably been my best trade or the year!
