Game Chat – North Melbourne vs Collingwood

Written by Thommo on May 8 2021

Where and when: Marvel Stadium, Saturday 8th May, 4:35pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Rd 13, 2020: Collingwood 10.5 (65) def North 5.5 (35) at the GABBA.

Lead by Anderson, Simpkin and McDonald, the Roos were excellent until half-time, level pegging with the Pies. Unfortunately, Pendles decided he’d had enough after the main break with 11 possessions and 1 goal in the third quarter paving the way for the Pies to overrun the Kangas.

Match Preview:  You know what? I only just realised that the Pies are second last! Is it wrong that I may have chuckled a bit when I sighted the ladder? The Kangaroos have improved in recent weeks and this seems their best chance to chalk-up their elusive first victory for the season. And if they do, Bucks might finally receive his marching orders.

Thommo Watch:

North Melbourne
I think I speak for everyone when I say, “We love you Tom Powell!”Collingwood
We are running out of forwards so I settled for Steele Sidebottom and I still feel unhappy with that decision!
Thommo’s Tip: Pies by 12 points (tipping record 10/21).

  1. VC on Grundy or Gawn tonight (Captain choice tomorrow of either Macrae or Walsh). Would normally throw the Captain on Gawn but a bit concerned after last week.
