Where and when: Adelaide Oval at 7:50pm (AEST)
Last time they met: Round 13, 2021: Port 14.7 (91) DEF BY Geelong 17.10 (112) at Adelaide Oval.
An entertaining and see-sawing match saw the Cats run out 21 point winners against the Power. Wines for the Power led all players with 29 disposals while Rozee for the Power and Cameron for the Cats each finished with five goals for the match.
Last five: Port 5-0, Geelong 3-2
Match Preview: Last week these two teams were at opposite ends of the close game spectrum. Port hadn’t led for the entire match until Robbie Gray dobbed the match winner at the 22 minute mark of the 4th quarter and then did what they needed to to hold on. The Cats meanwhile, took control of their match midway through the second quarter, got out to a 44 point lead, and then lost after the siren. What effect will both matches have on the psyches of the teams?
Port are on a 6 game tear looking like they’re hitting peak form at exactly the right time of the year. At home in front of 30,000 adoring fans, they’re going to be hard to hold out. Geelong won the last time they travelled to Adelaide to play Port (in extremely challenging circumstances – anyone remember the story about players sleeping under tables?) but their form has been patchy of late with losses to the Dees and Giants and whilst Mitch Duncan is making a return they’re still missing key players Stewart & Tuohy. But it is Tomahawk’s 300th and they do mark milestone games well.

Go Port!
How good are the boos?!? God I’ve missed boos.
Looks like the umpires do too! #FreeKickGeelong
Umps with a multi on Geelong. Insane umpiring in their favour so far.
Balanced out against the crowd and Aliir lol.
Could Chris Scott look any greasier? Glorious hair!
Fantasia, get a hard ball. Won’t help Port in a serious contest.
Cats only make top 4 cause of ridiculous home ground advantage. They are gone. danger will never win a flag. Lucky to make eight next year.
