Game Chat – West Coast V Fremantle

Venue: Domain Stadium, 5.40pm AWST (7.40pm AEST)

Last time: R20, 2015, West Coast 15.14 (104) d Fremantle 11.14 (80) at Domain Stadium

Best SC Scorers from last game:

  • West Coast: Shuey 125, J.Hill 123, Kennedy 112
  • Essendon: Sandilands 150, S.Hill 144, Mundy 128

In/Out:

West Coast

  • In: Chris Mastern
  • Out: Jamie Bennell

Fremantle

  • In: Tendai Mzungu, Matt De Boer
  • Out: Clancee Pearce (hamstring), David Mundy (calf)

Game Notes: The Eagles scored 26 goals in round 1, with Josh Kennedy bagging 8 sausage rolls all to himself. Last week against the Hawks they only managed 7 as a team! They come into this one as pretty short priced favourites. Too short for a derby, where anything can happen as we saw with Adelaide’s demolition of the Power last weekend. Matt Priddis plays his 200th game – what a wonderful player he has become. He’s most likely played a part in your SuperCoach team over the years, as he has mine many a time.

No one could have predicted such a poor start to the season we have witnessed from Ross Lyon’s squad. The Dockers have had the wood over their cross-town rivals over recent times, winning their last six derbies before finally losing in their last hit out. It’s unusual for Fremantle to concede 100 points in a game, let alone have it done to them in rounds 1 and 2. The late withdrawal of David Mundy really hurts their chances, but I’m going to back them in here for their first lot of four points in 2016. Michael Barlow to be best on ground playing through the midfield (fingers crossed).

          1. Didn’t trade Barlow as Gresham was out so traded Gresham to Barlow hopefully a blessing in disguise, didn’t jump off newnes last season when everyone was and that paid off

  7. Was at the game, very sloppy game. Priddis a clear BOG, Neale would probably be my second. Sandi was killing Nic early on. Hope he is ok, never good to see a player hurt and taken from the ground. I haven’t seen a replay, has anyone seen it? Just wondering if Nic has been reported or looks like he should be worried.
