Game Chat – Western Bulldogs vs St Kilda

Written by Thommo on May 22 2021

Where and when: Marvel Stadium, Saturday 22 May at 7:25pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Elimination Final: St Kilda 10.7 (67) def Western Bulldogs 9.10 (64) at the GABBA.

Last five: St Kilda 3 – Western Bulldogs 2

Match Preview: The Western Bulldogs have been somewhat overshadowed by the Demons, but they have only suffered a single loss and are coming off an outstanding win against Port in Adelaide. While they have not matched up well with the Saints in recent matches, it is hard to see the Dogs’ ridiculously deep midfield not grinding St Kilda’s recycled mids under their boots. Although the Saints promised so much in the preseason they have muddled around in the middle of the ladder and need to win tonight to keep in touch with eighth position. Good luck Sainters, you’ll need it!

Thommo Watch:

St Kilda
I own no Saints (except Highmore *sigh*) but I am interested in the cheapish Jack Steele.

Very interested!

Western Bulldogs
I have made very few intelligent trades in 2021 but my Neale to Macrae trade was a thing of beauty!
Thommo’s Tip: Western Bulldogs by 12 points (tipping record 14/27).

    1. Well then, with Oliver going bananas in Adelaide, I’m now stuck hoping that Nathan Murphy is not the med sub for the Pies tomorrow….

Any word? I know they had the bye in the VFL so that’s no help.

      1. In a similar boat chillo.
I can use brayshaw though but that means I have too bench Poulter and take RCDs 50 as I’d already wacked the E on him. I think Poulter could beat that though. I’d love too know if Murphy is wearing the vest or not asap.

      2. Well, I can only use Bianco so I’m hoping its not him. Last weeks unused sub was Madgen so you’d think it would be him again since they had the VFL bye.

  2. Im in the same position too. My only hope to take Oliver’s score is with Bergman. Fingers crossed he is not named sub tomorrow.

        1. Is it crazy to consider down grading Bergman tonight to a non playing rookie so that i can bank olivers vc score and rowes emergency score? And also have another loophole option in the future.

TU – good idea. go for it.
TD – no, your crazy. Hold your trade.

          1. Yep, definitely.

            Bergman done with Jones back.

You want to grab someone who will eventually play though. I’d grab Hutchings (WCE). Off the injury list, returning via WAFL, will get his spot back as soon as he’s match fit.

  4. If Highmore doesn’t get activated as the medical sub, would I get my emergency defender’s score?

  5. Hunter Clark down in the rooms.

Looks set to return to ground.

77 Highmore owners (in the top 5000) , have a sigh of relief…… because they have the C on him…believe it or not!

    19 in the top 1000!

      1. Injuries to Geary, Hill, Clark and Geary. All defenders.

Highmore could have so easily come on lol. Nice one, SG!

    1. Awesome.

I took the risk of looping him to get Oliver VC score.

Won’t do that ever again cause I don’t have any fingernails left.
