    Poor round.

Forced to cop Berry, Cameron, Hayden and Taylor all onfield with injured Sturt and Whitfield’s scores being removed. Hopefully I can hold my rank and look to back up my top 125 finish from last year. Geez this year is hard to navigate though.

  2. 2,158 / Neale – 22 Players

Plenty of luck after trading Martin to Pittonet and Houston to Neale.

    Had Gawn, Viney, Smith, Rivers and Whitfield’s 8 as well as Cameron’s 28 , Taylor’s 44 and Pickett’s 50 scores not count.

  3. Disaster.
    Kelly & Martin out.
    Whitfields and Sturts single digits.
7 Ess and Melb players out.

Cues been put back in the rack.
    I only play for overall.
Only counting 18 this week really hurt.

Just one of those rounds you can do nothing about, 2102 in the tech league though so at least something to smile about!

  5. Traded Petracca for Dusty, so that’s how well I went!!
Got one back over Macca in Contributors thought so that was a positive.

  6. 1815, season over in main league, 0/3 with a %above 98. Somehow won 2/5 leagues this week.

6 dees/bombers, non-emergencies Starcevich and King didn’t count, even Kings score would have gotten me over the line instead of taking Cameron’s score if I had of known in time to shift the players on and off the bench appropriately. Taylor and Pickett also counted for me.

In my years of supercoach this is the most flat I have felt after a round outside of the pointy end of years disappointments. The fact there was nothing I could do about it doesn’t make it feel any better unfortunately. I’ll still be back next week.

  7. 1910/Rowell/4493 (-1238)

    Ooof. What a week, eh?

Think 1910’s okay considering I got no service from J. Kelly, Gawn, Smith and Petracca this round. Premos all stepped and bringing in Pittonet worked out VERY nicely – covered Gawn, put up a juicy 137 and set to make hella cash.

A small victory was C Rowell working out. Didn’t have a loophole available to VC Neale and with Gawn out I had to take either Dunkley’s 128 or roll the dice on Rowell. Took an informed roll of the dice despite the 20 T.Ds against it, quite happy!

Hats off to bAps and Chillo for putting me away in our respective leagues.

      1. I’d thought about it the night before, Jim. Was genuinely confident Rowell would go 130+, had pumped him up in the captaincy article as well – would have been hypocritical of me not to roll the dice lol.

  8. 1915/Neale/6912th (down 256)

Won 7/10 leagues somehow. Missed out on Brown’s 80 due to not changing the E off McInerney because I wasn’t aware he was a late out. That cost me 52 points but can’t complain too much considering the Martin/Jelly/Whitfield fiasco.

Studs: Neale, Fyfe, Rowell, Dunkley, Doc, Sicily, Ceglar, Doedee. Also good rookie scores from Starcevich and Budarick.
Duds: Pickett, Cameron, Long, Sturt and Whitfield.

    1. Well done Stewy. I think it was you who cleaned me up in LOEC3 in the last game. I thought I might have you covered at half time until Fyfe was huge for you and DBJ and Brayshaw both disappeared in the second half.

  9. 1753/VC’d Neale/73 k (down from 75 k, huge improvement)!!

Only had 17 to field with a Whitfield 8 plus Schultz’ 22 on the bench. Lost Dusty, Jelly and McInerney and had Gawn, Viney, Rivers, Bennell, Trac and Smith.
Stars like Fyfe, Neale, Rowell and MacCrae got me that far.
Not being able to add the “E” or swap players cost a couple of reasonable scores. Buderick, Brown and Brander could’ve boosted by 156 with notice.

I know plenty has been said about the fairness so I won’t go into it, but Sheeeez!!!!

Tech Team pulled out 2039 for a 4,000 ish round rank. 19 teams in the two tech leagues scored over 2000.

  10. If Melb/Ess play and my players score their avg, I win H2H game by about 150.
Instead, best 18 gets me a loss by 17.
    Flat is an understatement….

  11. Got 1759 which… was in the top 42% for this week… so better than most, shockingly enough.

    Fell 15,000 places to 30,800

Why do we fall? So we can pick ourselves back up.
    Onwards and upwards.

My Coaches Votes award goes to Budarick for a very unexpected 80.

Save to say I was not expecting that score with Whitfield’s injury then Rivers, Viney, Gawn and Smith out.

  15. That hurt a lot.

    1841 / VC Neale / 11515 (-5917) / Ouch!

Outs – Saad, Smith, Gawn, Rivers, Oliver, E on Bennel. Whitfield hurt even more, not to mention Sturt and Rozee.

Lost most H2H’s that I was on course to win by 250+. Anyway, that’s the way the cookie crumbles!!

My man crush for Goldy grows by the week. Seriously underrated footballer. Happy with bringing Pittonet at R3 for cash generation purposes over Cameron too.

My POD mid priced defender in Short did brilliantly.

The best 18 decision didn’t impact me as much as it did others. Viney and Dev Smith my only real high scorers from those clubs.

Never been this high in the SCT group before. Experience tells me this is only headed one way …. south and with a bullet!!

  17. As expected, got smashed by the Top 18 due to my abundance of Ess-Melb players and no ability to emergency bench players in response. Lost 12,000 spots overall and lost 8/10 league matches (I was projected to win 8 of them on Saturday afternoon).

I’m not re-prosecuting the decision taken by SC HQ. It’s done. Although I do want to make a point seeing they raised the game cancelled by Phil Walsh’s death as precedence. At least then we knew in advance it would be Top 18 and could make moves according; not in the middle of a round when nearly everyone has already made their trades and a lot of bench players were already locked out.

But the decision is made and it is what it is; there’s no going back I’m sure. I appreciate it must have been a tough situation and I don’t envy their position at the time. I do think they rushed it though, and they could have given themselves some time by immediately locking out all Ess-Melb players.

Nonetheless, my overall prospects for the year have been completely shafted and I can’t see any meaningful advantage coming to me later on as compensation based on the info SC HQ has told us. I’m therefore feeling very flat and disinterested at the moment. I’ve been playing SC and on this site for around 10 years but I’m now rethinking the time and effort I put into analysis/strategy as it now feels like its been wasted.

Despite the flatness, a massive shout out to the SCT community. The expertise and support this site provides is second to none. Make sure it stays that way then, even when there is no much difference of opinion.

  18. 1769 (predicted 2169 at the start) with neale vc and 5 ess/dees so had to count whitfield and could only sub Sturt on for Smith – ouch.

I don’t really play for big bikkies, i’m not that good, just bragging rights over friends and family – but yeah, flat weekend especially with the young bloke doing a knee at soccer yesterday

  19. Do we think SC should have given ESS and Melb players their average score like fantasy has done?In the case of first gamers, last year’s ave has been scored.

  20. 1930/Grundy

Managed to avoid Whitfield’s 8 (thought he was a good option for VC too!) but copped Sturt’s 11. Also a bit frustrating to have Tyler Brown on the pine with his 80 prior to the imposition of the 18 rule, but what can you do.

Dusty/Houston/Whitfield concern me at this stage. Hopefully, none of my Essendon players bite the Covid dust.

  21. Just a quiet 584 pts below rds 1-2 average, lost 10/10 leagues, Gawn c in draft league, fell 29k spots to 34k. My cat has somehow survived the carnage, but, my BOMBERS REMAIN UNDEFEATED !!!

  22. 2129 with Neal as capt. moved up 27k to sit just over 5k. Whitfield would have hurt but got some luck with the best 18. Won all leagues. I will not complain.

  23. I am not going to talk scores. This round was neither good nor bad for me.
I had an unfair advantage with dropping some onfield bad scores (Sturt, Pickett) while lost out on potential big scores (Captain Gawn). Like everyone, I felt flat just bcoz so much planning and strategies go on selecting our teams based on existing rules. And I felt that some benefited unfairly from the situation. Making rules on the go is always going to make some happy and some unhappy. Because it is unfair. It does make sense but it doesn’t make it right. However, The dice were cast, let’s accept it.
But we love SC. And our SCT community. So the interest will drop but we need to keep on going. I am a sulk but not a quitter. Football is still here, the show must go on.

Horrible round traded Dusty to trac didn’t play had to field cameron’s 22 and Simpkin went up 60k. had decent rookies on bench but no e as game’s we’re already locked so had Taylors score count also.

    Not happy jan.

12 players over the ton incl Doodee . Won my league & top 4% for the round so nothing to whinge about, really…… well, apart from being a Die Hard Dons supporter !
Danger is the only concern…. pretty much convinced myself to out him for Fyfe this round. I’m sure the SC Gods will forgive me.

Cheers Coaches & Have a good week.

  26. 1884/Neale/13048

Managed to win 5 out of 8 of my leagues, which I’d like to see it as a good average considering Dusty, Whitfield, Gawn, Smith, Bennel and Rivers.
Dropped a lot on the overall ranking tho.

I did miss out on Pittonet cause I realised he didn’t have the E on him 5 minutes into Carltons game, silly mistake that costed me a very precious 100ish points in such a crazy round! Silly silly me!

  27. 1834/Grundy/27K

Nice scores for Brown, Budarick, Brander and Starcevich as rookie/cheapies.

Daniel was great down back and English pulled his finger out in the ruck.

Rowell, Macrae, Cripps and Fyfe were great in the middle.

Might have to look elsewhere for a captain this week, Grundy hasn’t been his usual self.

May have to give Yeo the flick as a POD option, he’s not pumping out his usual scores.

  28. Whitfield. Late out on McInerney. Sturt. Zac Langdon and Darcy Cameron on field.

Didn’t double Emergency my midfield when Oliver didn’t play.

Let alone the whole Essendon/Melbourne thing, so 5 players down there too.

At least I took the safe option with Macrae I guess, because of lack of loopholes (which really ended up not being an issue and could have swung Neale).

Shift work and the whole postponed game saw me sub 1700 and barely able to field 18.

    ouch.

Still, with the Allsaints news this really doesn’t seem so important this week.
