  1. 2,393/Miller/Waiting on rank.

Some huge scores from my midfield: Rowell, Neale, Miller & Brayshaw. I was also able to get Hayes & Martin on field.

My backline let me down with Crisp, Ryan & Whitfield all going below 75.

  3. Waiting on the confirmation but 2323/Miller.

A few mistakes with rookies on field as usual, and backline carnage. So many premos underscoring down back.

Needed a bit more balls to back Hewett and Cripps in particular. That desire to use most of the cash to earn points can sometimes backfire.

30 scoring players and no loop was a risk that may pay off as we see injuries and covid dropped players.

Went with Marshall after Darcy didn’t play so have 100k to play with. Happy to stick with Marshall right now as long as Ryder is still on the sidelines

  5. 2271/Miller/??

Honestly happy with my team’s outcome despite my 2/3 back premos playing like absolute trash.

Rowell and Miller as my captain, as well as Chapman’s last quarter heroics saved my weekend. Formidable performances too by Neale, Macrae, Dunkley and Rachele helped. Unfortunately like a lot of people, Martin was on my bench XD

Duds for the weekend were Crisp and Ridley. Gawn was not his usual self, and Brodie should’ve had more game time. Because 77 for 65% GT isn’t bad at all.

    Onto next round!

Fielded Hayes and Martin on purpose thinking I was a genius until Mullet Italian did 118 (I don’t own him)

Thinking slightly above par, happy with everything. Would love GD’s thoughts.

Risky selections of players returning from injury inc Berry, Rowell, Sicily, Coniglio, Heeney, overall happy knowing that some of them will be better for having first run with upside evident in coming weeks – provided the sticky tape holds together

  8. Can we start over again please?

    2083/Oliver

Suffered from stacking my defence with premiums, who nearly all bombed.
Parish, ROB & Treloar all underwhelming as well.
Ward on field. N. Martin & Hayes not.
Just hoping Rd1 is an aberration.

Got caught out by the Wednesday start by not setting my VC & C correctly (meant to set Macrae as captain). So could have been a little better.

Backline premos in Crisp and Ridley played like arse, but I think as play slows up a bit they will com into their own. At the moment a lot of the teams are pinging up and down the field just like training drills and defensive structures aren’t quite set. Got lucky with my rookie selections – Martin, Daicos and Rachele all going well and not leaving much on the bench.

Regret talking McInerney – after playing back in pre-season appeared on a wing. WTF Horse? Glad I swapped out Ward last minute. Sad it was for Owens.

    1. same as you!…not 100% sure yet, but likely to swap him to Hewett. Mc’s got great speed and skill, high DE%…Horse just didn’t play him like pre-season games. Do we give another week or “corrective trade” him out right now??

Weird round – my D6 (Hewett), R2 (Hayes) and F6 (Rachele) were all my top scorers on their lines.

  11. 2349 / Macrae – stinkers in Crisp, Ryan, & Ward. Wobbly scores from Parish & Dawson. Rachele & Martin scores wasted on the bench.

  12. 2367 for the Burblers this week. It’s actually a big deal from a personal point of view, because it’s the first time in the past 4 years I haven’t stuffed up my RD.1 captain.

  13. 2326/MacRae

Had Rachelle and Hayes stuck on the bench. Will need to find a way to bring in Martin but overall my inspired late trades of crisp and Ridley to short and Hewett, forced trade of Darcy to Witts and non trade of Heeney to Steele paid off!

  14. 2257/neale

Had two non scoring rookies ( Parker-dogs and Rioli -tigers) who will be traded out for Hayes and Martin I think

Kept Darcy and used Dixon as emergency so happy with that score as easily could have been 60-80 more

Good: POD Blakey at 325k scoring 98 points.
Starting all my high scoring rookies, with no wasted bench score.
Mid pricers in Gresham, Witts And Rowell all over the tonne

Bad: Ryan, Whitfield and Mills with 70, 73 and 84. Many defenders failed so not too bad and keeping account that this is round 1 so this score only affects pricing once.
Owens with 2, gladly benched but hoping not to be dropped.

Parish, Ridley and Whitfield all a disgrace.

Didn’t have Hayes or Martin, so couldn’t miss their scores on field lol. Thought neither had JS but both looked to have played themselves into B22 and great cash gen – will come in when they’re on the bubble.

Would have also liked ROB to ton but had a flat final quarter as the game went into rapid pace.

    Onto next week.

Im pretty happy, Rich, Ridley,Whitfield held it back just one trade required to get Martin in.

  19. 2230/Miller/tbd

Good: C Miller and Rowell single-handedly bringing my score to respectability. Having Martin looped onto the bench and generally getting my forwards pretty right.

Bad: Backline Carnage. Went a set and forget backline and 3x500k players got less then P McCartin who was on the bench. Will be hard to resist the urge not to rage trade 2-3 of them.

  20. 2228 / Touk / 42,911

Good – Picking Touk over Steele. Mostly got the rookies and mid-pricers right.

Bad – Picking Berry over Rowell, Crisp, Whitfield, Ward on field.

Not going to trade this week but will look to do something like Crisp/Berry/Ward to Sicily/Rowell/Xerri if the trends from Round 1 continue.

    Ridley, Whitfield not so good.

Hayes and Rachelle on the Bench. Do not own Martin. Probably where I fell behind.

  22. 2180/Miller/59k

Own all the good rookies and only have one correction/injury this week soo pretty solid start.

    It’s a marathon not a sprint 😉 (I’m only saying that cause I didn’t go huge)

Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield and Berry let downs.
Chose Dunkley over Petracca for VC
Chose Kelly over Neale for C
Chose Xerri over Rachele to field at f6
and got all 3 wrong , otherwise I’m totally stoked.

Besides defence – Ridley , Ryan , Whitfield happy with the performance of team .
Rowell , Hewitt , English all started along 9 others exceeding 100 and it was good having Rachelle and Martin on field and Hayes as back up
If only l stuck with Heeney instead of trading for Brodie but built up defence depth with Hinge and banked 216,800 after dropping Ward at last minute .

  25. 2517 / Tracca

Will Stick with Crisp, cannot be that bad again. SDK will miss hoping Wilmont or Skinner named.

Concern with Berry / Davies will replace.

Took Baldwin over Martin maybe RD3 trade. Martin JS should have improved after his debut 5 goal haul.

  26. 2208/macrae/50k

A promising weekend turned into a dud. Not having loophole in exchange for cash gen hurt as Hayes and Martin were stuck on the pine.

    +3s Rowell butters Rachele
-3s Ryan, Ridley , talking myself out of Miller to start steele

On a positive got most of the good rookies so trades shouldn’t be too much of an issue this week but looking to see improvement for these so called defender premos

  27. 2291, Macrae as Captain, 22405, top 15%

Solid round overall, pretty happy with 2300 despite quite a few poor showings from Crisp, Whitfield, Ridley, Steele, Ward, And Sean Darcy being pulled, as well as Rachelle on the bench instead of ward.

Martin, Hayes, Rachele, Daicos, Rowell, Neale, and Heeney all good value picks who got big scores

Overall solid for round 1, wont make any trades unless I have to

  28. 2317 / Neale / 15,5xx (was expecting a higher rank with a 2,300 score)

Like most, the defensive premiums weren’t – Short and Sicily did their jobs, Ridley and Whitfield didn’t.

Pretty happy with the mids, although Steele needs to do more (considering it was a coin flip between him and Touk, Steele’s already down 50 points).

My unique ruck set-up was productive, and the forwards all did their part.

    Supercoach and footy are back!

Replacing Lloyd with Hall worked out well. English and Butters off to a great start. I thought starting Rowell was a risk but now I reckon he is a must have. I think Ward will improve on his 36 and probably end up being a 60- 70 point player.

  30. 2329 / Miller / 12801

Didn’t have Hayes or Martin on field, have Whitfield & McGovern, had Ward on field, had Hinge on field. Pretty happy with the rest really. Most is easily fixed and I think both Whitfield and McGovern will be OK long term.

    On to round 2

  31. No Rowell and Martin on bench. Went with Berry.

    Witts @ R2 promising.

Too many high scoring forwards compared to the defenders.

Ruck/Forwards may be the go this year?

  32. 2384 – Miller

Only got one of the big 3 rookies on the field. Martin but not Rachele.
Traded out Hough fo N Long before Sunday games because it was already evident you will need a non-playing forward/mid to loop if Hayes and Martin are going to pulling those sort of scores..

Overall all I was happy with my PODs.
Harry “Who?” Perryman went at 109. This guy is just so unnoticeable but he has a history of scoring at a young age and if he gets a clear run I am excited at what he could produce.
I bet that Darcy Moore would outscore Crisp this year based on the fact he averaged the same as Lloyd in his 8 games as a defender last year.. He also played 5 in a failed forward experiment where he averaged 60. So far its a Nil All draw but encouraged by how Moore could play so average and still score 87.

Otherwise Ridley, Whitfield and Steele let me down. I reckon if you choose a premo and they don’t fire first up you have to give them another chance. Hoping to not trade this week and maybe do 3 the following week with more info at hand.

  33. 2286/Miller/23k

Not a bad start for me with most people flying but the popular promo defenders as many others had will be holding them of course this week. I started Baldwin over Martin Yikes! will be needed that correction trade.

    Studs:
    Hewett
    Short
    Macrae
    Miller
    Neale
    Rowell
    Daicos
    Grundy
    Dunkley
    Butters
    Rachele
    Hayes (Benched)

    Duds:
    Crisp
    Shitfield
    Steele
