COLLINGWOOD

Darcy Moore (KNEE)

Initial scans were positive and he was cleared of any major injury – his ACL, PCL and MCL are all completely fine.

He will be assessed at the backend of the week and our high performance team is hopeful he will be available to play this weekend.

While he completed pool work and gym on Monday, he will not train on Tuesday but will hopefully be on the track come Thursday.

Jeremy Howe has recovered from a gastro intestinal illness.

Harvey Harrison left the field before the siren with tightness in his hamstring. It is looking like a minor strain, about 3-4 weeks on the sidelines.

Charlie Dean suffered ligament damage to the same foot he injured earlier in the season. Scans showed a crack in his little toe. He will be managed conservatively and a surgeon will review his return date but it looks to be a 6-8 week injury.

Aiden Begg (thumb) is keeping the thumb locked in a brace and he has completed a lot of rehab work. He’s doing some high intensity running with Brodie, specific to the ruck position. Will be out of the brace next week and likely available.

Brodie Grundy (knee) is completing more functional training this week, running the patterns he would in a game and including some directional movement.

Long-term injury list, Reef McInnes (shoulder), Tom Wilson (back), Nathan Kreuger (shoulder) are biking, swimming and hitting the gym. All looking positive for season 2023 and expected to be back at full training by day one of pre-season in November.

Aaron Hall (quad) 1-2 weeks.

“’Hally’ had a quad cork last week coming out of the game. He had no complaints about it early in the week and then early in the game he felt it when he was taking off with acceleration for a give and go,”

“He had a scan on Monday morning that revealed a really low grade strain and the signs are really minimal which is pleasing, it’s his non-kicking leg which is another positive.

“He’ll go back to running tomorrow and build him up through footy function and see where he lies early next week.”

  1. Thanks CT. Great work as always . As a pies fan it’s great that the Moore injury wasn’t as bad as it looked in the game.

    1. You are welcome FBS,

Yes, good news for Darcy Moore as it really didn’t look good.

I am always impressed by Collingwood’s medical reports as they are always comprehensive and with quotes from their medical staff.
If only all clubs followed suit as some give the absolute bare minimum.
      Rant over.
      Cheers

    1. He only has to get through training this week to play, so prospects are good that he will play.

    1. I am in the same boat after reading that medical report. Sounds like he may actually be a good chance to miss only the 1 week, so I may just cover him with Wehr for this weekend, save myself a trade for now and reassess next week.

  2. Zak Butters

“Trained well on Tuesday and is expected to be available for selection as long as he progresses through training on Thursday and Friday.”
