    1. Highly doubt Gawn gets up with both an injured knee and shoulder.

Even if he does don’t expect much from him :/

  2. TU Gawn and Pickett to Neale and Wicks only, save 3rd trade.

    Or

TD Make 3rd trade trade: Aarts or Simpson to Adams (Both their BEs are only 20 odd, but Adams a good option right now). Comment below which of the two should go

  3. Hey guys, before writing my poll just wanted to say thank you to everyone that votes and gives feedback, not only to me but everyone. Making this game much easier this year!

For this week, I’m torn between bringing in a defender for Doedee and risk a donut in the forward line (if Sturt isn’t named), or play it safe and bring a forward in.

TU – Z Will this week and Walters (if cash allows it) next week
TD – Walters/Brayshaw this week and hold McPherson next week at D6, then assess options at max 500k (470k with Brayshaw) in round 14.

  4. Pickett or Budarick —> Wicks??

Pickett BE in the 90’s will lose cash. But if he scores half decent will be an easy trade up to premo.

Budarick scores low but could be handy cover for the rest of the year if Wicks gets dropped

  6. surely this round is one where you sit on trading in premos and only trade for rookie cash gen and wait for the byes to be announced??

eg Laird looks promising, but has a bye to come – Crows will play their kids now and thus??
Sicily (but had a draw) also same – kids to play it seems – will he get thrown forwards again??

    and so on …

    7

    1. Sloane and Crouch to come back into Crows Mids.

With Doedee out long term.. Laird goes back for mine.

He could still score well, but I wouldn’t be paying over’s with the Bye’s etc..

      8

      1. my thinking on Laird too … but the club said they liked him in mids too … if you can believe anything a club tells us!! But he’s a risky pick for me … the clubs that drop out of the running will also be risky picks I think …

  7. TU – Mckay > Williams
    TD – Simpson > Merrett

(I could do hayes too, but rather save money to upgrade my mids)

    1. Seems to have re- injured his calf.

They really like this kid so I very much doubt they will take any chances rushing him back.

      I think he’s a must trade .

      Sorry 🙁

  8. What to do with Ceglar. Yes I have held him this long.

Had low TOG on the weekend. Did anyone watch the game and provide any insight as to why this may have been?

I can go Ceglar to the Big O McInerney. Ceglar is bye free where as the Big O isn’t.

    T/U: Hold Ceglar
T/D: Get rid of him and bring in the Big O

    4

    7
    1. If Ceglar averages 70 from here on out = 490 Total points

If Oscar averages 90 (Bye round included) =540

Personally don’t think the trade is worth 50 total points.

I’d wait and sort a better option (leave him for one of your last upgrades)

      3

  9. T/U: Gawn —> Merrett/Fyfe (D Cameron becomes permanent R2, Draper R3)

T/D: Gawn —> Nic Nat and field Bytel in MIDs

    2

  10. I only say this cause I do have the likes of Macrae who could better it, but very happy with Lloyd as VC last night, lock it in or risk for a few more points with Macrae?

    T/U – Bank the 137
T/D – Back Macrae to continue his hot run

    13

  11. How are we all handling these staggered team announcements ??? Pain in the ask your mother for sixpence !!!

I want to trade Mahony to Merrett but Mahony will play before bombers team is named…..not happy Jan if Merrett then rested, although thats not likely. Other option is Mahony to one of the freo boys Walters/Fyfe/Brayshaw, in the knowledge they have been selected as Freo team announced today. Only want players from teams that have had byes…have Oliver.

    T/U Merrett
T/D One of the Freo boys.

    12

    5
  12. Does Suns $162,300 def/mid Sam Flanders have good JS?
Will be used on bench mostly, not for cash generation. CT said he can play well so wanted to know if his elevated price is worth it over Bytel.

    Thankyou.

  13. Boys, not sure If I’m going crazy here but is ladhams viable ruck cover/f6 material?

Really don’t want to trade gawn here if I can help it and I already need to replace Gresham.

AVG of 98 with one score below 80 (against big maxy)

    Tu trade Gresham to ladhams
TD. Take the 0 and trade Gresham to a bonified premium

  14. I just made some potential trades to see the lay of the land, and now the ‘reverse changes’ button is unclickable even though the next rolling lockout is 7 hours away….. any explanation???

      1. I am not on the list but it’s not because I see it happen to someone every year. Sorry and hope the trades work out alright.

    1. Doing the potential trades to see the lay of the land is one thing….clicking CONFIRM is another.
With so much footy on at the moment (every day) it’s easy to lose track of when a new round has started. Unfortunately R12 started with last nights game between Swans & Giants, so avoid the confirm button at all costs (unless you are 100% committed to the trades).

      1

      0
  15. Fairly committed on Gawn to Nic Nat, even if Draper does play this week. Looking to upgrade Pickett in mids…

Currently own: Macrae, Bont, Oliver, Cripps, Duncan, Shuey

    Tu: Titch

    Td: Fyfe

    7

    11
  16. Thoughts time again….(please)

With G1 and G2 not 100%, up against each other this round do we reckon they will spend more rest time up forward and let their cubs do most of the chores????

TU Yes, they’ll just feed the forward 50 (?)
TD No, they’ll just lean on each other’s good side and feed the Journos (?)

  17. Still 50-50 on what to do with Gawn:

T/U – Gawn & Skinner to Brayshaw & Big O. Only rookies left on field are Serong & McPherson
T/D – Gawn & Skinner to Goldy & Bytel (via Close). Leaves me a huge warchest for moves once the fixture/byes situation clears up

Comment: Hodl Gawn. I have Draper as cover

    7

    4
  18. Do I risk bringing in Bytel before teams are named?

TU: Gerogiades > Bytel (via swing with Budarick)
    TD: Georgiades > Woodcock

  19. totally stuck on whether to trade simpson or d.smith this week- so many pros and cons! trading simpson would make it look i was full premo apart from rankine but i’d still have smith stinking it up, and stagnating in price. simpson is averaging the same, still has cash to make and the extra money from smith trade can help a better upgrade…… smith on other hand has had his bye and i’d think has a higher ceiling……
    T/U trade simpson
    T/D trade smith

    1. Not knowing your trade and cash situation makes it trickier but Simpson with low BE this week, if you have 7+ trades, go Dev out.

  20. Upcoming byes.

    Out for Rd 14
    Adelaide and Brisbane.

Out for Rd 15 (1st SC final)
Nth Melb, Bulldogs, Port, Geelong, Saints & Suns.

Out for Rd 16 (2nd SC final)
    Collingwood and Richmond.

That’s if Rd 18 is SC grand final.

  21. Knowing the Byes now round 15 is cooked will avoid Boak who would you bring of the following

    TU Gaff
    TD Zorko

  22. Thoughts on moving Gawn to S.Darcy
Gives me a heap of money to play with and he has been in quite good form with a better looking freo midfield.
    TU: Yes, risk it
TD: No, take someone like goldy or nic nat

    6

    13
  23. Please help!

    TU
Gawn and B Smith > Nic Nat and Fyfe

    TD
Gawn and Georgiadis > Big O and Fyfe

I am planning on trading Gawn back in a few rounds…

    8

    4
  24. Will Walters’ return impact Brayshaw’s output?

TU: Brayshaw will continue to score well
    TD: Baryshaw’s scores will drop

    6

    6
  25. With rd 15 a non head to head now and best 18 scores Would Goldstein be a better option rather than Nic Nat? Not worried about overall rank.

    Cheers

    4

  26. With R15 been confirmed as a non H2H round now is nic Nat still the #1 option?
I am playing for leagues this year and Goldy nicnat matchup in the R18 GF week.

    TU : Goldy
    TD : nicnat

Worried about Simpson possibly resting nicnat before the real AFL finals but the 50k saving is tempting

    5

    6
  27. Is anyone else struggling to hit the corfirm button when trading out Gawn.

I have it sitting & ready but can’t seem to pull the trigger to Nic Nat, worried that the short turn around may impact on his scoring.

Or Goldy as he has a bye, so from here onwards if Gawn plays next round they may score the same points.

    What do I do?

    8

    0
    1. I’m the same Hynsi,

But im pretty sure Goldstein’s bye now falls on the week where there is a break in supercoach. Making it more attractive to get goldy.

But I can’t seem to afford the trades I want with goldy, and also can’t seem to pull the trigger on nic nat.

      I’m wanting to go

      Starcevich – Sholl
Skinner – Walters (avoiding a 0 from Close)
Gawn – Goldy (but cant afford him by 10k)

So am looking at the same trades but just with nic nat, but cant bring myself to do it…

      1. Would you settle for ruscoe instead of sholl? with some big names back this week he has still held his place that is good news for him… and DPP

or do you already own him?

        4

    1. Also keen to know. Looks like he replaced Jack Martin who Carlton are hopeful will be back next week for R13.

Is Cripps going to be a late out or something?
    Doesn’t make much sense.

  29. With the extra trades I’ve decided to trade Rivers to generate some extra cash for next week.

    Rivers to:
    TU – Bytel
TD – Honey (fwd/mid DPP is handy)

    6

    1
  30. On Field
    D Cameron T/ u
    S Draper T/d

Cameron will shoulder some of Ruck but as forward up against May
Draper possibly up against Marshall + Ryder
Will put E on not playing

    10

    5
  31. TU: Do I pull the trigger on Serong early and trade to Bytel this week, leaving me with $400k itb allowing me to double upgrade and complete my DEF and FOR line next week.

TD: Or do I hold Serong?

My midfield atm is: Neale, Oliver, Jelly, Titch, Duncan, Cripps, Serong, Simpson (Close, Schoenberg, Wicks)

    0

    7
  32. 1 trade left.
Want to increase my kitty (although I’m not working with a lot here).

T/U: Rivers to Sholl = +$25k and avoid donut
T/D: Hibberd to Bytel = +96k but have donut.

I’m projected to win in both leagues even with the donut.

    4

    8
  33. I’m weirdly tempted by Tom McDonald, looks like he found a bit of form last week. will play forward & second ruck with Jackson out for a while.

    2

    6
  34. TU: Take Neale’s 134 as VC
TD: Roll the dice on Macrae with his projected score of 163 against an Adelaide midfield that bleeds points

    10

    3
  35. Tough one Slats
    I’m currently taking Neale
    Projected score 0f 163 nets additional 29 points .
Could do it but I’m taking a defensive approach especially after my gun of last week Brayshaw delivered sub 70

  36. Don’t know what to do with B Smith
Will he come good or time to trade ?
    TU trade to Merrett
    TD Hold he will fire

  37. Question for next year

Are there going to be any tempting mid pricers coming back from injury next year
    we had Dochety this year
    libba the year before

  38. My cash league is really tight for most points winner b4 finals. I have Aarts on bench and D Smith stain onfield. If I was certain Aarts was to play, I’d do nothing, but wont know till after dons game.

    T/U Smith to Parish
    T/D Aarts will play

Have plenty of trades in hand, Quite confident Parish will outscore Aarts.

  39. I feel sorry for the dude that had Xerri as his c yesterday and he was a late in. My Eagles c Williams as an emergency scares the daylights out of me.

  40. Goodwin having Brayshaw spend more time at centre clearances and thru the guts last few rounds. Is it worth a gamble getting him in for 370k? First 2 finals 18 just count. If he scores well, it’s a bonus. If he score crap, it won’t count.
Then trade him out for final 2 games to a Uber premo? Hopefully in that time his price has increased.

TU – Has merit and it is a silly season for silly ideas.
    TD – Plain stupid.

    1. Just remember luke Ryan’s Home record is much better than his away numbers.

The Dockers travel to the Q hub after their next game.

He may still score well , I just think history shows he will drop off when not playing at home.

      Food for thought anyway.

      2. Thanks Alex A

I just double checked Ryans numbers.

        This year…

        R1 Marvel R3/6 Metricon scores:50 67 79 109 105

5 games “away” for an Ave 82.0

        R7/12 Optus scores:123 125 118 131 100 162

        6 games @Home for an Ave 126.5

Thats a 44.5 ppg difference between his home and away numbers.

With just one more game at home v the Swans. Then the rest of the H&A season in the Q Hub..

I wouldn’t be paying >$580K for Luke Ryan.

            1. No worries.

Slight error in these numbers. Included a Gabba game as Optus. Soz.

Correct numbers posted in “Sicily” thread.

              I would still avoid. 🙁

    1. Hey ya Abs

We had a similar discussion about this a while ago.

“Par” is totally relevant to your overall rank.

If you are ranked 50k a “par” score this week could be as low as 2250. Meaning you hold your rank.

Now if you are ranked in the top 500 a “par score” maybe 2350+.
As this is what you may need to score to hold your rank.

I know you are just looking for a general feel what an “average”
      score may be.

It maybe better to ask the question say..

      I’m ranked 8325 and I’m projected to score 2321

Do I go up or down this week ?

      5

        1. No worries, easy to miss!

Trade history is always a good read, so many regrets looking at previous trades…or celebrations if you nailed them!

My big regret was going Dunkley to Boak in Round 4 (started the year on fire) instead of Oliver (who I usually start). Oh what could have been…

  41. A request for the SCTalk team. Could we maybe have the trade talk thread actioned the day before a round ends? With the rollover of rounds, it’s be awesome to have trade talk available before the next round starts.

    Food for thought.
