    1. I’D go Lyons and Mannagh if you haven’t got him but not H.Thomas so much. Sub risk is the worry with Mannagh but if he is just sitting on the bench maybe worth it if you need a $117k

  11. What do we think of Burgess?
    JS with Thilthorpe out for a stretch, 6 of the first dozen games at AO (and playing NM + WCE), possibly a decent chop-out role..
    Thoughts?

  14. Why is everyone so confident on Jackson?
    Fremantle website has Darcy listed as 3-4 weeks
    No doubt in his scoring whilst solo rucking, however don’t we fear it will be an automatic trade out soon?

    Thoughts appreciated!!

    1. Fully agree, last yr the same thing happened with Darcy expected to miss an extended period out which ended up 3wks. Jackson should finish a top 6 fwd but can be upgrade with his price falls

  31. Will Nic Martin defer DEFENDER status?
    Thinking of chopping Jackson and running an extra premo in the midfield as Darcy is scheduled to return in 3-4 weeks.

  35. Can someone plz explain all the confidence in the Luke Jackson pick? Freo site says Darcy is only 3-4 weeks away..

    1. 3-4 weeks with no Darcy, Jackson should score very well as solo ruck.

      There is hope that Darcy won’t be back as soon as that or at least limited ruck time.

      Rounds 4, 5 & 6 Freo have Carlton, Port and Eagles. If Jackson is still rucking for those weeks, happy days.

      By round 7, all the early byes are over and if Jackson has done his job, made some cash, it’s an easy sideways to a premium who had an early bye

    3. Regardless of Darcy’s injury status, Jackson was the number one scoring forward in 2023 who is still a forward in 2024.

  39. I have two positions I still haven’t decided.

    M4: Butters or Rozee

    Butters twisted his ankle in the practice game, apparently the same ankle that he has hurt previously. Rozee might get less midfield time with Wines and JHF.

    F4: Fyfe or Harmes

    I dodged Fyfe last year, but is this years Fyfe in better shape? The WBD website had the Dogs football manager predicting Harmes will be the AFL’s ‘recruit of the season’, and with Macrae not playing he should get some midfield minutes.

    Any suggestions?

    My gut says Rozee and Harmes and leave $80k in bank

    3. Hey Derek,
      I went rozee banked the 30k from butters which helped me reach jordan from lazzaro..
      Not completely sold on it but think he should have a great year and anything over 110 I’m happy with he’s a Bit more durable too. But butters probably has the locked in CBAs giving him a higher ceiling and could be anything this year. If you don’t need the $30k I’d probably just lock in butters still

    Basically do I keep Duursma or take a cheaper option and move miller to Rowell?

    I have Reid, Lazaro, cadman, sexton (Durrsma?) Is there a better option?

    1. You have Wilson in your midfield already? Otherwise there’s burgess? I think duursma has the JS over buku of the two options so he’s my tip. But not sold on his scoring power at that price. A forward player in a bad side.. and that’s coming from a north supporter here.

  42. What do we think steele can back to this year at an average? It’s between he and Green for my last midfield spot. On face value green covers him on pure average but steele has 1 less bye and saves me 90k? Green would be my first upgrade target once he’s had his first bye.

  52. I’m still struggling about which rookies to pick. As it stands, I’m pretty confident with Roberts / Mckercher / Sanders (MIDS) and Reid / Sexton / Wilson up forward.

    The rookies I’m less certain on are Clark and Mannagh in the mids and Windsor (F). My alternatives are Wehr, Lazzaro, Duursma, and Cadman.

    TU: Should be okay as is.
    TD: You’ve got a spud instead of a must-have (please comment who-for-who).
