  1. Hi all, Langford’s hamstring has thrown me this week was possibly looking at upgrading one of my rookie mids.
    Last week I traded Treacy > J.Sharp so I had cash for this week.
    Before trades this week I have 5 trades left and $125,300 ITB.
    Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    DEF: Laird, Mills, Stewart, Whitfield, Lloyd, Short (Madden, Durham)
    MID: Macrae, Oliver, ZMerrett, Jelly, Titch, Walsh, Bramble, Sharp (Bianco, Newcombe, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Reeves)
    FWD: Ziebell, Dangerfield, Dusty, Greene, Langford, Bolton (Brockman, Waterman)

    1. Hey, JJ.

      Even with Madden -> basement 102k rookie, you could only get a 495k MID. So Mundy, Fyfe, McCluggage, LDU, Smith, etc. All have issues.

      Maybe go Langford -> De Goey, let your rookies make a little more coin and then do that last upgrade?

        Was going to follow abs advice but I’m $100 off Waterman & Bianco > De Goey & Ginnivan.
        Is it worth going Langford to De Goey? (It would leave me with 4 trades left and would give me roughly $137K to hopefully upgrade both my rookie Mids)

    2. Hey JJ.

      Bianco or Madden can cover Whitfield for a week.

      I would just trade Langford to the best available. De’Goey / Marshall / Hawkins.
      Mac Donald./ Hind ? Pick someone you like to cheer for.

      Bramble is good on field for a few weeks, The Hawks backs are decimated and he seems to have the HB role.

    3. Langford looking 2-3 weeks on the sidelines but with 2 rookies on field I’d hope it’s just 2 and hold. Newcombe will be back in this week id think with all our outs.

      Stick fat with your plan, Waterman -> 102k loop & madden via DPP to Fyfe. I’m thoroughly of the thought that Fyfe is a major risk, however at that price there’s no one better IMO.

      If Bianco however isn’t named, or you think grabbing Fyfe is a death sentence. You should just be able to afford, Waterman -> JDG and Bianco to a DPP M/F and swing Danger to your mids, this also allows Madden to cover Whitfield this week.

      Should also set you up nicely to go one up / one down with Bramble / Madden in a couple weeks. Leaving 1 trade ITB

  2. Got too many injuries to the back line and strapped for cash.

    Any sub 350,000 DEF worth taking a punt on or better to play a rookie and save cash.

    1. At under 350k? Not really, Al. Argh.

      Could you field Highmore at D6? That’s honestly serviceable for the rest of the season.

      If you don’t have him or he’s already on field and you HAVE to go sub 350k, I’d maybe go Sheppard (WCE)? Webster (STK) or O’Connor (GEEL) if you have a touch over 350k.

        Highmore is exactly who I had in mind. Have 3 trades left and got a triple whammy of injuries with Docherty, CJ and Whitfield.
        Going to hold Whitfield and trade the other 2. Only have about 10k in cash.
        Was thinking to go:

        TU: Doch and CJ out for Daniel Rich and Highmore
        TD: Go for two DEF in mid 400k’s rather than a premo and Highmore?
        Comment: suggestion?

        1. Rich (105) + Highmore (80) = 185

          2x 450k~ DEFs @ 90 each = 180

          (450k~ DEF options: Lukosius, Haynes, Newman, Smith, Daniel)

          Pretty close, only qualm with Highmore would be Coffield and Clark a couple weeks away. No direct impact, but who knows what St Kilda willl do. He’s been terrific when played as an interceptor, but they have tried him accountable.

          I’d go the 2x 450k~ options to spare you any drama.

        Putting all me eggs in the Dunkley basket may not be wise especially using two trades.

  37. Should I upgrade Waterman or Madden to Hall?

    Madden would give me an extra $40k to put towards bringing in Dunkley in two weeks.

    I’m playing league. I’ll have 5 trades left after this week.

    TU: Trade Madden for better odds at bringing in Dunkley

    TD: Sacrifice the cash for better bench coverage (can swing Madden back and forward)

    1. If you can afford Waterman to Hall this week than do that because if you’re trading them both in the next two weeks it only matters who will go up more this week in price. Madden BE 37 proj 14k, Waterman BE 26 proj 10k.

      Pick 9 in 2021 AFL mid-season draft. 185cm 20yo (Murray Bushranger)

      The versatile Durham is predominantly an outside midfielder with strong skills on both sides.

      He has been used as a wingman in his four VFL games for the Bombers, averaging 17 disposals, 4.5 marks and three tackles.

    2. If Marshall was a midfielder, I would have traded him in, as I have a mid bench to cover him if his foot injury flares up again. But as a forward, and with very few playing bench fwd rookies, I decided against trading him in, even though his DPP would be handy (as I have Edwards at R3).
