  1. Does everyone secretly love a carnage filled week?
TU- no it’s depressing and stressful.
TD- yeah keeps things interesting and fun.

    1. I feel like it gives lower ranked players more of a chance to rise with up the rankings with some smart trades

  2. Currently have Gawn and Grundy in ruck with S. Hayes coming in as R3. Who to trade Grundy to?

T/up – Preuss which leaves me with $268k for upgrades next week

    T/down – Witts or O’Brien which leaves me with $36k or$45k respectively

  3. Shaping up too be a fun week!

Grundy, Darcy, cotchin, marshall Dixon, McCartin, xerri, JHayes, Hewett, pittonet, Jackson, kozi, hinge and ward for all different reasons are unnamed a some being more relevant than others but still now with de goey & WH-E coming down with gastro a potentially late outs…
As well as trying too navigate our way through JHF and racheles high break evens.. hopefully there are not too many more Melbourne players struck down with covid before Saturday night.

I have Hewett, Grundy Dixon, JHayes, xerri, ward and McCartin. Was looking at de goey or Parker and Oliver too but I’ll hold off on him right up til the bounce if possible. Hate to bring him in and he get covid!

    Bring on the weekend!

    1. Really struggling to understand the disparity in votes here! Cripps has a worse bye, already had an injury-affected game (scored 38) and missed 1 week.

Tbf, I’m tossing up between them, but surely we have to respect Touk! He averaged 103 from R1-6 last year (112 this year), and we know what happened next..

  4. Rachele’s scores have gone big, small, small, big, small, small.

Do we expect him to go large against an underwhelming GWS?

TU: Keep him for the cash gen boost, sell Hayes now.
TD: Sell him now, ditch Hayes next week.

  5. Some considerations.

Rachelle an actual warm body this week and could go big v Giants. But more likely to lose cash and trading him enables a Sicily/Heeney type.

Hayes (STK) done for the season but won’t lose any cash this week. Means less cash available though so Houston/Parker types only possible.

    Given that, which is best?

TU – Rachelle to Sicily, Hobbs on field
TD – Hayes to Houston, loop Rachelle / Hobbs

    17
    1. If Rachele hits his 67 average, he’ll drop 6k. If he scores 40, he’ll drop 18k.

I can see the merit in holding him, especially with his proven ceiling. Even if he loses 20k now but you commit to holding him until his handy R13 bye, it’s not unlikely he’ll make the money back at some point.

As FD says, a scoring rookie is better than a non-scoring rookie… or something…

    2. Definitely Rachele to Sicily.

Don’t sacrifice a Top 6 DEF for one week’s emergency looping. Rachele is averaging 67 and will lose $$$ this week, worsening your ability to upgrade him next week.

  6. I messed up last week and didn’t get my main trades in on time. Now I’m unable to grab Hayes in due to all of the carnage, as Grundy-Preuss is a no brainer for me.
However, I’m not sure who to bring in down back. Crisp, Pendlebury or Stewart? Crisp is reliable, but last season was the only one he averaged over 100, can he keep that up? Pendlebury getting old, but still solid, perhaps he’ll be rested at some point though? And Stewart is a machine, but rarely gets those big 130+ scores and picks up the odd niggle. Who would you choose?

    TU: Crisp
    TD: Stewart
    Comment: Pendles

  7. TU:
    Sell Grundy, Xerri and Rachele
Buy Hayes, Petracca and Parker (only 29k ITB for next week).
Leaves me with no FWD bench cover FWD.

    TD:
    Sell Grundy, Xerri and Hayes
Buy: Oliver, Hayes and Rosas (279 ITB for another upgrade next week).
Leaves me Rachele as an emergency forward on the bench.

    21
      1. Haha! I’m just concerned that Clarry has played his monster game and Petracca may be due… only has to tidy his BE a tad and will go HUUUUGE!

  8. After all the carnage, I’m set on:
Grundy to Hayes (R2 until English is back); and
    Xerri to Cripps

Do I also use a boost and trade Hayes to Sicily, which through DPP swings will allow me to have one warm body for cover on each line except ruck (Gibcus, NOD, Rachele). Also means I’m playing Sicily and not NOD. No brainer, right?

    1. Can you get an extra 35k for Parker?

Gresh has been a handy pick-up at 300k, but seems to have a pretty low ceiling given he’s getting a stack of CBAs.

      4

      2
      1. No doubt Parker has a high ceiling but bit apprehensive of his consistency with scores of 73, 76 and 39. Also tricky as I already have quite a few R13 bye players.

      1. Think you need to ask who is going to be more chance of being a keeper and for mine it’s probably Houston

        1

  9. Who to sell this week, does not effect any of my trades, will sell the other the week after

    TU- Rachele
    TD- Xerri

    4

    17
  10. TU: Oliver, Callaghan and 180k for an upgrade next week (have to field 7 rookies this week tho with only 1 available loophole option)

TD: Houston, parker and 15k (only have to field 6 rookies this week and can do loopholes in every line for extra security)

Side note: had a few bad weeks currently sitting at 25,000 in rankings so looking to move up is that better to do with the second option?

    2

    10
  11. TU: Pendles
    TD: McGovern (WCE)

Or comment best def under $540k.. for some reason I refuse to consider Short. Maybe cause I didn’t start with him!

    10

    1
  12. Grundy > Hayes
    Rachelle > Cripps
    Xerri > Witherden

Having faith in Hayes at r2. This enables me a double upgrade which is needed this week!

  13. Breaking SC rule but:

Bringing in Clark WC can really play mature age and has good js from here…putting E on him tonight as am confident will out score Horne-Smith M8 . If he does field Ward and bank the points!

    My trades:

    Out: MCartin/ JHayes/ Xerri

    In: Clark/ SHayes/ Neale

  15. Help required please all.
    Have these 2 options:

    TU:
    Grundy > Preuss
    P McCartin > Brodie
    Ward > Cripps
    204K remaining

    TD:
    Grundy > Preuss
P McCartin > Petracca via Daicos to Def
    Ward > Cripps
    97K remaining

  16. Will be trading in one of these this week –

TU: Sicily – Av 107, BE 70 – would mean SDK or Rosas will be on field
TD: Heeney – Av 115, BE 123 – would mean SDK or NOD will be on field

    11

    2
    1. As it stands I’m going Clark over Rosas. Keeps my structure in tact and Clark has a better role than Rosas.

Let’s me loop Gibcus, Clark & Rachelle to cover Hewett too.

      1. My thoughts also AB’s. Mature mid who’s been a gun in the WAFL, bog in the granny last year and which WC need desperately atm especially with Yeo’s issues v a forward pocket..

  17. Is anyone thinking of doing the double of bringing in Preuss and Sam Hayes this week?

TU: Yes, good cash generation option
TD: No, pick one ruck and a rookie in another line e.g. Hobbs

    12

    3
  18. My current team
DEF: Crisp, Hewett, Ridley, Bowey, McCartin, O’Driscoll (Sinn, Gibcus)
MID: Macrae, Steele, Neale, Oliver, Crippa, Brodie, N.Daicos, JHF, (D.Stephens, Ward, Hollands)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Dixon)
FWD: Dunkley, Butters. Cogs, Xerri, N.Martin, Rachele (C.MacDonald, Durdin)
$57,000 in the bank, 32 trades left, four trade boosts left

TU – Grundy, Xerri and D.Stephens > Witts, S.Hayes (via Dixon DPP), Vlastuin (via Sinn DDP), $34,800 in the bank
TD – Grundy, Xerri and D.Stephens > Preuss, S.Hayes (via Dixon DPP), Sinclair/Docherty/Sicily (via Sinn DDP), $150k in the bank

    1

    4
  19. TU: Grundy, Hayes, Xerri to Gawn, Hayes, Rosas(leaves 370k in bank)
TD: Trade to Hayes(means he’s my R2 behind Pruess) Touk and Heeney(40k in the bank) and miss out on Gawn/Rosas

    3

    5
  20. Should I bring in Oliver and Parker if it means fielding both Gibcus and SDK in DEF? Or look to bring in DEF Premo < $500k and loophole Gibcus/SDK?
TU – Risk 2 rookies on field
TD – Bring in Vlastuin (alt?) and loophole

    11

      1. Gawn will probably outscore Doch and Heeney combined this week…

Parker is great value, Gawn is Gawn, huge score incoming and makes a terrific VC/C option.

Heeney and Doch had great starts but feels like expensive additions with other options viable.

        VC/C option Gawn (115) & Parker (95) =210
        V
        Doch (105) & Heeney (100) = 205

  21. Trade out P.McCartin – only have enough budget to purchase either:

    TU: Jordan Dawson
    TD: Jake Lloyd

Comment: Should I consider Pendlebury over Lloyd?

    5

    6
  22. How many coaches using 3 trades this week?

TU : Definitely 3 trades to avoid the carnage
TD: Managing with 2 or less

    27

    5
  23. Trying to base my trades around R2, bringing in Hayes but could also bring in Preuss to play R2:
Trading out Grundy, Hayes and Rachele

    T/U – Oliver, Sam Hayes (R2) and Rosas – 300k on bench
    T/D – Preuss (R2), Hayes and Rosas – 600k on bench
Comment – Oliver, Hayes and Preuss

    Thanks lads

  24. Trading out Grundy, Xerri and Hinge, which gives me $1,092K and two positions to fill (Hayes is a lock to come in)

    TU: Heeney and Sicily
TD: Gawn and Zach Reid ($250 k in the bank for next week)
    Comment: Andy Brayshaw and Vlaustin

  25. TU : parker

    TD : rozee

I know at first glance parker looks the play but rozee if stays in the midfield is an absolute steal and port have done well when his been there the last two games. And saves $80,000

  26. Two-parter – I’m planning on bringing in one of the four players listed below, so please only vote for one of them.

TU this comment: Tom Mitchell (3-rd average 122, $584k)
TD this comment: Ben Keays (3-RA 115, $592k)

TU next comment: Isaac Heeney (3-RA 108, $545k)
TD next comment: Tom Liberatore (3-RA 112, $536k)

  27. Trade one out

    TU: McCartin

    TD: Durdin

Durdin out means I bring in Parker/Heeney up forward or via dpp either out brings in any premo down back

    Cheers!

    7
  28. TU – Trade in Oliver, Hayes and Steel and playing Hayes as second ruck or
TD – Trade in Oliver, Hayes and Gawn and playing Durdin.
    Thanks.

  29. I can either trade Rachele to Rosas or upgrade him to Cripps. Is it worth bringing in Rosas (we’ve got Dempsey and Clark on the horizon) or just go ahead with the Cripps upgrade?

TU: Rosas, can get Cripps next week
TD: Cripps, there will be other cows

    Thanks!
