  1. 240 / 2 / Grundy VC into Neale C

Bont repaying the faith and then some, and J MacInerney serving up some piping hot goods coming on for Pickett this week.

I’m hoping Grundy runs rings round Mummy tonight

  2. 504 / 5 / VC Grundy.

    I have the E on McInerney’s 74
I will take that when Pickett plays today.

I know the smart play ( Father Dougal ) was to sideways Dunkley to an underperforming / undervalued Mid eg Bont. ( anyone that did this is a genius )

But.. After downgrading Sauce for Pitto, ( I started Naismith ) I found myself with $300K in the bank. I just couldn’t resist getting in Neale V the hapless Crows.
I just cant see him going under 150

It may sound crazy but I’m going to leave the big C on Neale and take the risk for a few more points. Any normal week / year I would take Grundy’s score in a heart beat.
Staring at my sub 50K ranking and bottom six showing in almost all my leagues.

    I figure screw it.
It’s not the time to play it safe.
I need a big score to get me out of the quagmire.

Anybody else making any crazy moves this weekend ?

    1. Just before last nights kickoff I traded out Brodie Grundy to trade in Pittonet and put $397k in the bank.

I know I will miss some big Grundy scores but hoping that Pittonet can continue to put up premo scores and I can upgrade a couple of my more dodgy onfield rookies next round.

Could be a season defining move either way.

      1. Hey Rance.

Any other year, I would scream “Madness”

        Not this year.
With the Pies going to the Perth “Hub”If Grundy is going to have a down month this could be it.

I would start putting a plan in place to get him back before he returns to home.
Hopefully Pitto is $500k+ by then 😉

        Best of luck this weekend

        1. Thanks FT. I admit it is potentially “madness”. But maybe so is keeping a $700k ruckman when a $300k ruckman is scoring about the same. I don’t expect that will last but can now Spend $400k on upgrades next round, gaining the benefit of those extra points, and then maybe upgrade back to Grundy at some stage for around $100-150k. Worth a punt and as last week proved, anything can happen in this game.

    2. Morning, FT.

Completely agree with the move to keep the C on Neale. As per my captaincy article this week, there’s going to be some huge scores this weekend so your benchmark for VC/C should be higher.

      Best of luck!

      1. Morning GunBoat.

I see you have the VC on Neale.
With Gawn a very solid back up. 😉

Did you have to replace Dunkley ?

I was also wondering if we could get a of poll for Howe replacements next week ?

Thanks again and good luck this weekend.

        1. Yeah, went Dunkley to your man Fyfe. Probably cops Miller this week, but then plays Crows, Dees and Eagles – expecting big things.

Yep, I”ll get right onto the Howe poll np.

  3. Anyone else already trying to foresee the possibilities for two trades that need to be made for next week???

      1. Looking like I consulted the sheep guts on this one.
        Tom Stewart busted collarbone 🙁
        Zorko Achilles
Williams, Davis, Fyfe, Howe, Naismith, Naughton, Lloyd.

Round still has a game and a half to go.

  4. 1280/14/Neale

Not taking Grundy’s 135. Go big or go home! Naismith (E) , Howe and Fyfe all in my team that will need replacing. What carnage awaits me tomorrow? Projected score of 2120 atm. Players to come are Neale (C), Starcevich, Doedee, Oliver, Rivers, Sicily, Ceglar and Taylor.

  5. 1460 / 16 / Neale C

I don’t own Fyfe. Him missing weeks is hard enough to deal with on a football level, let alone SuperCoach.

I will have to replace Howe though, Both Young and S Hill are looking like tasty downgrade options. I’m leaning towards Young, even though he has already had a price change. I just feel he will be more durable.

I’m thinking of using the cash to get in another “Fallen” Premium forward. My first thought was Sturt to Whitfield. He will have dropped nearly $100K from his starting price. I am worried his body might not hold up though. He always finds a way to miss at the worst times 🙁

Fyfe’s injury ( and a lack of beer ) has really got me re thinking my C on Neale, No guts no glory approach. I can put Bennell on field and bench Oliver creating a loophole for Grundy’s score. I will have to see if I can hold my mettle.

Neale ( C ) , Petracca, Oliver, Ceglar, Starc and Taylor to come.

I just hope I can post a decent score and start heading the right way UP the rankings. 🙂

    1. Hi Freo Tragic, I hope we finally learn. Fyfe, Jelly and Whitfield are guns. They will always average in the top 10 in their respective positions. However every year, they miss 2 or 3 games, that always ending up affecting the total points. that’s 300-500 points you will miss while you are paying top dollars. The luckiest people are the ones who start them, take the uber points and trade out when they get injured/rested/suspended. Add GWS secrecy about injuries.
I hope I remember this next year.

      1. Good Morning Jeannot.

You make some very good points. I may just turn Howe into “The Bondi Seagull” Lloyd and save the grief.

I really like Calab Daniel, but he tends to cop a few knocks and miss a game or two.
I will also be keeping an eye on Sicily today. I picked him up post Byes last year and it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
If , I can ignore that, and he keeps his HB intercepting role he could be another solid choice to replace Howe, as he’s well priced and very durable.

Oh, I worked out I can turn Sturt in to Young via DPP this will move Brander forward. 😉

Thanks again for you input, and good luck for the rest of the round.

  8. 1462/17 Captain Neale, Gawn, Laird, Oliver and Rivers to come, so target is high 21’s.

FMSC! 2 Forced trades again to keep a lineup, had to carry Whitfield this week so he stays in and I miss out on Simpkin. Luckily picked up Butler which was nice 🙂

Now Howe out, Naismith out, this week so another 2 forced trades AGAIN.

      1. No, luckily dodged that bullet and Tom Stewart. Reversed out Tom Stewart trades twice this year 🙂
First bullets I think I have dodged all year. Gotta get lucky sometime.
