Welcome back for Round 11. Not as much going on this week with no VFL action although we have the Mid Season Rookie Draft starting tonight at 6:30pm AEST. The draft order as per the AFL website is listed down the bottom. I will try and get a bit of a review up on the players selected, let me know who you think is a chance to get picked up.
SANFL
ADELAIDE
Glenelg 20.14.134 def. Adelaide 6.9.45
Kieran Strachan $146.7k RUC/FWD – 17 disposals (9 kicks), 5 marks (2 contested), 6 tackles, 2 clearances and 41 hitouts – 124 (96/8)
Josh Worrell $123.9k DEF/FWD – 20 disposals (14 kicks), 9 marks (3 contested), 3 tackles and 6 rebound 50s – 90 (68/8)
Ronin O’Connor $123.9k MID – 23 disposals (13 kicks), 8 marks, 7 tackles and 3 clearances – 105 (74/7)
Tariek Newchurch $102.4K MID/FWD – 10 disposals (5 tackles), kicked 2.0 and took 5 marks (1 contested) – 53 (54/8)
Verdict: Strachan was among the best and continues to get it done in the reserves as do Worrell and O’Connor with 20 touches each, O’Connor is a big chance to come in for Berry this week. If Newchurch who is being used as a loophole can keep kicking multiple goals he could be a sneaky chance to replace McAdam
PORT ADELAIDE
Port Adelaide 12.9.81 def. West Adelaide 8.4.52
Joel Garner $189.9k DEF – 20 disposals (16 kicks), 8 marks (2 contested) and 5 rebound 50s – 84 (62/7)
Martin Frederick $123.9k DEF – 17 disposals (11 kicks), 9 marks and 2 clearances – 76 (78/3)
Sam Hayes $123.9k RUC – 16 disposals (11 kicks), 4 marks (1 contested), 6 clearances, 36 hitouts and 7 inside 50s – 96 (82/7)
Dylan Williams $123.9k MID/FWD – 17 disposals (11 kicks), kicked 2.1 and took 7 marks (1 contested) – 88 (59/7)
Taj Schofield $102.4k MID – 15 disposals (10 kicks) and took 5 marks – 60 (68/3)
Verdict: Garner had one of his better games with 20 touches, I have heard players talk about him but I’m not sure how relevant he is. Freddy was solid with 17 touches and 9 marks as was Hayes who is dominating the ruck but is unfortunately stuck in the reserves for now
VFL
No VFL Due to COVID Lockdown
WAFL
PEEL THUNDER (FREMANTLE)
Subiaco 11.17.83 def. Peel Thunder 5.9.39
Lloyd Meek $213k RUC – 13 disposals (6 kicks), 3 tackles and 31 hitouts – 77 (92/4)
Stefan Giro $170k MID – 13 disposals (7 kicks), 4 marks and laid 3 tackles – 57 (82/4)
Luke Valente $123.9k MID – 8 disposals (4 kicks), kicked 1.0 and took 3 marks – 37 (70/5)
Joel Western $117.3k MID – 12 disposals (8 kicks) and took 3 marks – 43 (69/6)
Verdict: Peel struggled in this game maybe more than the scoreboard shows hence the low possessions and scoring from Giro, Valente and Western. Meek did his chances no harm with 31 hitouts and will likely get another crack at AFL level this season
WEST COAST
South Fremantle 20.7.127 def. West Coast 9.7.61
Mark Hutchings $157.6k MID/FWD – 21 disposals (13 kicks), 4 tackles and 4 inside 50s – 79 (83/3)
Luke Foley $127.9k DEF – 16 disposals (15 kicks), 7 marks, 3 tackles and 5 rebound 50s – 77 (71/6)
Harry Edwards $123.9k DEF – 13 disposals (12 kicks) and took 9 marks – 65 (57/4)
Zane Trew $102.4k MID – 20 disposals (9 kicks) and laid 5 tackles – 69 (67/6)
Verdict: Hutchings was among the best again and must be a chance to come into the AFL side. Foley and Edwards were solid in defence with 16 marks between them with Trew gathering 20 touches running through the middle

Excellent wrap again, Alza.
Hutchings straight back in. We’re gonna need to start tagging again to try and cover the absences of T. Kelly and Shuey.
Thanks GD! Yeah I agree Hutch should come in.
I hate to say it but after the weekend I think their premiership chances have dropped significantly
