After it seemed like we had plenty of rookies we now have lost a few to different reasons such as injury, form or peaking in price and being traded. A good time to mention that players with good job security are worth holding sometimes even if they have reached their max price. There’s a few rookies playing well in the reserves but still not many defenders to bolster our defensive line.

CARLTON
Werribee 10.14.74 def. by Carlton 14.9.93

COLLINGWOOD
Essendon 10.13.73 def. by Collingwood 20.11.131

Will Kelly $123.9k DEF/FWD – 10 disposals (8 kicks), 7 marks and had 4 rebound 50s – 46 (44/5)
Verdict: Macrae played well again with 21 touches and 5 clearances, must not be too far from coming in. Quiet day for Wilson and Kelly with just the 10 touches each. I’ve mentioned Begg here due to the injury to Grundy, they will give Cox the first crack and even if Begg does come in he probably isn’t an option for us with his low scoring.

Great stuff, Alza! Thank you!
Thanks Alza. Great reading for forward planning.
Can’t wait for Clark to debut. Will be a welcome downgrade from my hawk rookie disasters!
Love this post every week.
I’m super tempted to go Clark early. He frees up so much cash , and I could loop him as he plays the first game. I’m pretty sure he will hold his spot , the main worry is his body holding up. It mainly depends on if Rosas is named as I don’t really want to fork out for Hobbs or Callaghan.
Thanks again Alza!
Appreciate the write up, Alza.
Comments and responses not on fire like they usually are due to the paltry rookie prospects that many of us a willfully ignoring lol.
DEFs are where I’m most concerned rn. SDK and Gibcus, two popular bench rookies, posted their season best scores over the weekend and look set to make some good coin – great. Problem is there’s literally going to be no one to downgrade them to – maybe Fahey or McDonagh eventually, but no one solid within the next month.
Forces our hand. We’ll either have to go 1 down elsewhere and 1 up DEF rookies to premos (which could be tricky as many of us are already 4 deep plus Daicos anyway).
Will be interesting to see how rookies coming through/or lack thereof impact which lines we upgrade first.
Cheers, Alza.
Thanks all for the kind words.
Agree GD, the current rookies in the backline are going well but nothing of note to downgrade to so will have to hold or ugrade the def line first.
