Sam Flanders has been in fine form, averaging 113.7 over the last 3 games, putting him 4th highest overall forward over this period.
If your team is like mine, that has been music to your ears as he started to shape himself as a season long forward premium. Alas, he ruptured his Achilles last night against Hawthorn, scoring 39 points in the first bye and is set to drop ~$15k thanks to his 75 breakeven, landing him around $477,400 when the round ends. His season is over and 56.5% of coaches will be looking for a replacement.
I will be forced into shopping into the discounted raw meat section that has questionable expiry.
Straight swap with Miller off the bye.
Maybe N Anderson for now, and consider post bye players. If now, Touk with bye done.
Dawson might be the go for me, only around 5% ownership, has a good average and the Crows bye is this week.
Versing Geelong this week, does he get the mullin tag? I know it’s only one week but maybe things to consider
I was planning to bring in Petracca after the bye. On the one hand going from Flanders to Tracc is not as expensive as upgrading a rookie. On the other hand it means I will have one more rookie spot to upgrade later. The rest of my FWD is Sheezel, Pickett, Ross, JMac, Arty Jones, Scerri and Banfield.
Another forced trade I was not hoping to make :/
I hear you Philby. In twelve rounds I’ve used ten (10) trades I did not want to.
Young R2; Rozee, Tracca, Gulden R3; Xerri, Rivers R4; English R5; Budarick R6; Robertson R7; and now Flanders making it even harder to complete a side.
Ideally, you would want someone off the bye, but that forwards cupboard is bare except for Touk. Others off the bye using DPP magic would be Butters, Tracca and Sheezel, but they are all over 60% owned, so I think we look to the lesser owned Dawson, LDU, Milera, Worrell, Anderson or Rowell to give us coverage right through the byes.
If not round twelve bye players, then I’d steer clear of round sixteen and accept that whoever you choose will still miss one.
JHF is another worth considering. Makes a bit of cash in the downgrade and his upside is as good as any. Regardless, a round 12 bye player should be the focus next week so Miller, Petracca, JHF & Sheezel should all be considered
I was always planning on bringing in Petracca next week which I’ll do for Flanders now so think I’ll definitely use my last boost now to turn Lombard into someone this week. Whether that someone is Kozzie or BJ Williams, I don’t quite know yet
I’ll probably go with Flanders and Bruhn to Miller and JHF.
Should also just have enough to go Coleman to Rowell.
Trying to decide between JHF & Bailey. Bailey has a higher average and slightly cheaper – I know JHF is coming off a bye but want to not burn through trades just for a byes sake.
TU – Bailey
TD – JHF
