Tech Leagues Review/Trades

Written by JimmyDee on May 2 2021

Another smashing for most of us with donuts in the ruck and defence and no chance to trade out of it with all the outs suffered this round.

Despite this, some coaches starred by pulling 2000+ scores which put them in the top three or four percent of scores for the round. Well done to Tech Difficulties who topped the bunch with 2097, R & J Bombers with a “Phat” score of 2075, Tech Mastermind with 2028 and Terangatangs filling the last spot of this illustrious group with a Space Oddity score of 2001.

I personally had nine DNPs plus Chapman and the rest of the cruddy tiring rooks, as well as Prestia and Neale still on the pine so I could fill empty spots in defence. I’m seriously wondering how to upgrade this century. How are the rest of you faring and is there an upgrade in sight?

  1. Went Dunkley to Macrae this round with very moderate success, and used the other trade to put Frederick in a week early to cover the Williams pussy who was a bit sore. Still copped a donut from Flynn and not sure how to get rid of him yet, but I’ll work on that this week.

Still have Neale and Prestia so do have options to work around but fear I’m slipping out of contention, especially with no upgrading, just filling holes.

  2. The Tech Difficulties had a ripper! 2097 with 1 doughnut!
Gulden for Walsh and Neale for May ended up a cracker trade. I’m disappointed May was traded out a couple of weeks ago thinking he was gone for weeks, not just 1. Zac Williams was covered by Kosi but I couldn’t cover Flynn in the ruck.

This week it looks like it will be goodbye to Rowe, but unsure who else will follow him as I want to trade players like Higgins/Phillips/Young but with only 19 trades and no current cash itb it makes it very hard to do so.

  3. OK … so I’m really annoyed with CD on the scoring, the AFL for the debacle of team lists not out on Saturday night and then really annoyed at myself.

Firstly, Grundy score was rubbish during the game and in particular the last quarter. I was watching the match and also posting the scores for both games on Saturday arvo on the threads … he finished at 129 having been awarded a free kick and kicking a goal in the last few minutes and his score never changed … I waited and waited … and posted scores up on the threads … was hesitant to take his 129 at that stage … and kept refreshing to see if it would change … it didn’t.

With the 4:30 game rapidly closing and my main OA side to manage as well as post the scores on the other match for the site, … I’d forgotten to swap my players around with DPP and get a NPR on field to take the Grundy VC score!!! Turns out he was eventually upgraded to 144 …

So, I ended up stuck with my C on Gawn who I had traded in (instead of Macrae) for Dunkley when Flynn was an out yet again … so, I figured that will be not that bad in the end … how wrong would that turn out to be!! ….. So that’s the bit where I am angry at myself for not ensuring I could get Grundy’s VC score … cost me a lot of points again … not having a good year like this it seems.

I ended up burning Flynn as well to get Gawn … and he spuds up a simply aweful game for me … hopefully it pays off in the long run.

The injuries are becoming a joke … not so sure how we are going to get a full decent scoring squad together this year …

    Onwards I guess …

  4. I went Neale and Flynn to Freddy and Gawn. Good to finally have Gawn but this week hurt. My team is slowly getting there with 16 ‘keepers’ but atleast 4 are not averaging enough in the long run. Phillips, Lukosius, Stephenson, Jiath and even Caldwell when he eventually comes back.
Trades at this stage are 2 rookies maybe Gulden and Rowe to Murray/Murphy and Taranto.

  5. I added Walsh and Roberton. Very likely to bring in May, and Freddie. But, hard to know for sure.
