Great to see Walsh an Dow starting on the ball! Watch Paddy’s Ownership soar after this match 🙁
I wish I could squeeze them both in at M5 but too much risk so one or the other…
TU: Walsh
TD: ABrayshaw
Dow listed as On ball. NICE.
And will be interested to watch how Webster fits into the distribution off HB.
Just wondering if we are going to be blessed with the TOGs and SC stats after this weeks games….. “Oh Great one”, Chillo sir.
Collating now….
Good to see the Saints recognising the multi talented McKernan !!
Always liked him. Underrated gives a try. one of the better performers of the night too.
No Macrae or Chugg for the Pies (not even emergencies) – panic time!
Ollie Henry named on the HFF though, Will Kelly at full forward, Bianco and RCD on extended benches – hope they all make a good go of it
Basically for 4 teams named Will Kelly (who will cop it in the neck when Mihocek returns you’d thing) and Oliver Henry are the only starting rookie priced player. Dow will play too.
But not looking great for rookies so far.
Frawley’s injury might open things up for Highmore, but even with Frawley getting 13% game time Highmore only got 57%
anybody notice the pictures of franklin lately looks like he is hiding a slab under his training tops
Geeeeezzzzz Dow is a worry with 26 @ h/t Is he injured or just not getting it?
Dow 54 points 17 disposals,2 marks 70% tog. rotating in midfield.
pretty underwhelming effort by a few blues from a SC point of view
I’d personally say it was pretty stock standard for a team that lost. Cripps spent quite a bit of time at FF after Mckay’s injury but Walsh is the only one where I agree he underperformed a bit. Dow is beginning to build confidence as a follower but a crappy performance still pulling a 54 as a $200k player is by no means terrible. Williams, Saad, Doc, Fish, Murph, McDonald, Jones still only pulled 70’s-90’s which was expected to begin with and Pittonet saw a return to form from his initial games. Overall Walsh was the only real ‘underwhelming effort’ from my perspective
Sam Walsh 25 disposals, 6 marks, one tackle, coming off wing. 60% Disposal efficiency. 75% Time on ground.
25 disposals is reasonable. Real world games TOG would increase since they had an long bench for AAMI series.
DE was poor.
Williams was a worry, both for underwhelming score and the chance of being rubbed out.
I wouldn’t start him anyway so it changes my plans by 0%.
Anyone else interested in Jack Higgins and considering Steele the real deal now?
Steele for me. Been tossing around the M3 spot all year, but securing Neale, Oliver and Steele at the top makes the rest of the mids feel much more secure.
Steele looks stronger than last year and is ready to go.
Question re standing on the mark. In an effort to defend more strongly and cover opposition players will teams choose not to have a player stand on the mark at all times?

I couldn’t watch the whole game but scores were underwhelming for several players.
Steele Cripps doch and Dow were all down. Were they just cruising at 50% anything we need to be concerned about? I know it’s pre season so could have been playing alot of fwd?
Also is pittonet a lone ruck this year? We know he can score nicely he’s done it a couple years ago for alot of us. Thanks guys
I’m looking for an alternative too Grundy just don’t feel comfortable starting him. But atm I do have GAWNDY locked in.
ROB, or if you’re feeling risky take Flynn and Martin at R2 R3
Steele and Doch looked good but didn’t score that well, Dow struggled at times and cripps had a lot of deep forward time
Never judge A-grade players in pre-season matches. You know what scores they will be getting for the year anyways. Just focus on mid-pricers, possible break outs players, players trialing different positions and most importantly rookies.
De Koning is injured so at present yeah Pittonet is boss dog. He was last year until injury, but the pecking order could well have changed.
He’s only 24. He’s still got a long career in front of him.
Cripps playing more forward? concerning..
TU: Walsh
TD: Cripps
No Mckay, Mcgovern, Casbault
Food for thought. Watching the games last night it occurred with the new rule that there were almost no ball ups. This will have a large effect on ruckman scores. To compare apples with apples does anyone know how many ball ups and throw ins there were per game in last years community series compared to this years. Would be interesting to know before I spend a squilliian of my.rucks.
Also the game appears to be quicker with less sideways and backwards kicking. Does this effect seagulls (Lloyd) score as he won’t be getting as many backward kicks to him this year.
If you are spending top dollar you want a good product.
Average total hitouts per game in 2020 Marsh Series: 75.9
2021 AAMI series so far:
Carlton/St Kilda: 77 total hitouts
Pies/Richmond: 50
Worth noting that both Richmond games in the 2020 pre-season had a below-average number of hitouts (67 v Pies, 72 v GWS)
Thanks for the info Chillo interesting that not much difference . To the eye looked less. Your a good man
My love child Jones getting another run for bombers. Watch this kid closely !!
Not much really on offer it seems.
I’m working in a lot more midprice madness over the last few days.
Don’t think there is going to be much option but for a bit of madness
It looks like Short will have a break out year in defense. Was running off the back line very well. Also Jiath running off the back line, looked good. Walsh is a lock for me any day over Cripps this year. Also De Goey looks good for price just to name a few
Year of the Seagull’s.
