    1. He is named on extended bench.
Does that prove his existence, if he isn’t named in final team?

  3. Hi SCTalk. Just found this website after a recommendation from SuperCoach with DR. (Not sure what his username is on here) Some great reads here and kudos to the writers. I just had a question: am I able to add the @SCT to my team name now or is it too late?

    1. Hey, Dish.

Absolutely more than welcome add the @SCT suffix to your team name – please do!

Puts you in the running to win the SCT Group prize at the end of year and there’s a nice sense of community as well.

Hope to see you around the site!

      1. Thank you Gunboat, I’m not that great and didn’t want to give the website a bad name with my poor rank. Hoping to get better though and I’m getting some excellent advice from people that have been playing a long time. I will be a regular on the site without a doubt. A good addition to the YouTube content and loving all of the articles.

    2. Hi Dish,

      Welcome to SCT.

Please take heed of Gunboat Diplomacy’s (one of our esteem admin) reply.

His Captaincy Candidates post is a must read every week for nailing that important Captain.

      Cheers
      CT.

        1. Shameless, CT!

Teamsheets pretty vanilla. Nothing too dramatic.

On my end, hoping Rosas can get up and Parish and Hewett are good to go.

          1. Lol.
Parish and Hewett loked a bit iffy earlier in the week but they are named so should be good to go.

Parish must have past his test.

Unconfirmed reports Hewett has a corky but looks as he will get up.

Rosas should play. I hope I haven’t jinx him now!

I think I was lucky to play you last week as I have a few holes to plug this week. Changed my trades so many times as more players are non starters.

            Good luck with the weekend.

Any news on your players will be in the Coaches Box
            (wink)

  4. Have we ever seen more rookie rucka get played in a season before. Im saying absolutely not. They are everywhere this year!

Also who is this Gould fella on the extended bench in Sydney….

    1. All this week:
      Jordan Sweet
      Aiden Begg
      CCJ
      Tom Campbell
      Nick Bryan

      Already this year:
      Hayes
      Hayes
      Dixon
      Xerri
      Preuss
      Stranidanadanadanica

      Probably a few more I have missed….

  5. Hewitt named, could be a late withdrawal?

    Mitch Cleary:

A watch on Carlton’s George Hewett at selection tonight ahead of game v North Melbourne Sat night.
Was walking with a significant limp and had heavy strapping on his calf on Sunday and Tuesday.
Similar calf cork to Patrick Dangerfield

  7. Not relevant to my main side, but definitely for the techie.
Anyone know what the deal is with Danger? I had hoped he would be only one week, is it a more serious thing?

    1. Good question TorturedCoach.

Danger was not on Geelong’s injury list so I expected him to play?

Geelong are not the most forthcoming with information.

So I don’t know the answer, but will endeavour to find out.

      1. I found this quote from earlier in the week. I missed it at the time.

Scott said: “We’re not sure yet. We’re optimistic that he’s going to be available. The question for us is whether we should play him given the lack of training he’s had over the last month.”

        1. Thanks CT,
I find Geelong so annoying when trying to plan.
Unfortunately holding him for one more week means fielding CMac, but I don’t want to use the luxury sideways trades so early.

    1. the thumbs probably give the opinions as most, but for some extra info then look at it this way:
      – has a BE of 30
      – if he misses 4 rounds, he’s back for Rnd11 – giving him three rounds to make / generate more cash before his Bye in Rnd 14
      – if he comes back, will he go back to primary ruck role … or eased in? (lower cash gen)
      – no guarantees in the interim the CCJ and Goldie don’t kill it so he may not get back in …

Its your gut call, its the worst timing, as he has only made $138K but was looking like a good option to hold and seemed to have primary ruck duties … his late bye and DPP would have been great for us … if you hold, that becomes the positive … but its a big hold for the length of time, and with all the other outs now happening this week

  8. With Xerri out – Hayes out – Grundy out it really messed up my weeks plans, but when Xerri was out for 4 …

  9. Currently have 28 trades remaining but with Xerri likely out 4 weeks I’m thinking of moving him for :

    T/U Xerri -> Tex Walker
    T/D Xerri -> De Goey

    …maybe Ladhams??

  10. At this stage my outs are:

Hewitt, McCartin, Ward, Grundy, Hayes, English and Xerri

So much for my plans to get rid of Rachelle and Durdin 🙂

    1. Jordan De Goey has been dealing with gastro the past three days. Even if he recovers in time for Sunday, he’s no certainty off a six-day break. Will Hoskin-Elliott also dealing with gastro.

Pies weighing up Cox v Aiden Begg at selection this arvo. Darcy Cameron confirmed.

      1. Aidan Begg-

“He’s certainly pressing. His form in the VFL has been really strong. He’s improved considerably. I never thought we’d be in a position to be considering his name in Round 7.”

      2. Any idea when DeGoey will be DeGone or not?
I’ll have to flick him to mid bench and play Finn Mag if he is out

        1. I would imagine they will give him until the last minute to prove his fitness.

          Doesn’t help Supercoach coaches.

          I will update ASAP.

  11. George Hewett out of round 7.

Michael Voss: “We think he’ll just miss this week. It’s a bit of soreness. We tried to get him going yesterday but this morning didn’t respond as well as we’d liked. We take a more conservative approach.”

      1. Hewett suffered a significant cork to his calf and has failed to prove his fitness after barely training during the week.

    1. Oh Boy …

      1. Thank the lord for the DPP’s this year – welcome to defence Daicos and please no more outs!
      2. Any more outs and Whitfield will continue to make a stain in my side … come to think of it, I may just eat a donut anyway just to have the satisfaction of him not there!!!

      Cheers CT!

  12. This week is carnage
With my 3 trades I managed to field a team with only 1 mid bench backup playing.
Unless Parish is out then 0
I guess I’ve got heaps of loops for the c-vc

  14. Very happy to see Rosas in. Ignore my ignorance, but when do we know who the medical sub will be? Could it be Rosas?

    1

    0
    1. Rosas is named to play so he won’t be the medical sub unless an extraordinary event occured.

      Borrowing Father Dougal expression.
There would be more chance that Taylor Swift becomes my willing sex slave than that occurring.

Back on track – Medical subs are declare 1 hour before starting time from the emergency list of players.

  15. Will WCE swing a late change tonight?
Bringing in Dixon to assist the second gamer, Luke Strnadica against Richmond experienced ruckmen?

    2

      1. We will find out after we’ve gone to bed and left Dixon without the “E” on. FFS – if I had known he would play, it would have saved me a downgrade to a questionable rookie this round.

  17. Currently have limited cash gen apart from just bringing in S Hayes, but also want the win in my league this week… Should I trade Xerri for

TU: Parker (and still have 120k left)
TD: Rosas (would have to be on field)
    Comment: Someone else

  18. Melbourne: Alex Neal-Bullen (currently in health and safety protocols) Out for Round 7.

Neal-Bullen trained fully with teammates this morning. Has to be a level of concern on other members of the group testing positive in the next 2-4 days.
Most Demons have had COVID, but in late Dec / early Jan. Entering the window of a second infection possibility.
