  1. I am conceding defeat in Supercoach this year.

    This year I am cursed.

I have to replace Duncan and money’s not an issue. However, I am now going to trade on the basis of whether I like how they go about it.

I am bringing in Libba this week.

Probably next week I will trade in Draper for either Reeves/Treacy/CCJ

    • Stuff it.

Going Draper this week and out goes Downie who I have held and held and held AND HELD SOME MORE!!

Reeves playing in the VFL and getting beaten by Phillip’s means he probably won’t get a game soon but he can be R3 for now and I have both Treacy and CCJ in the forward line.

  2. Need to take some risks to still be able to get to full premo and make the top 8 in my league. Thinking of:

    Duncan -> Pendlebury
    McCreery -> Dangerfield/Hind/Bolton

Or do I just say f**k it, get the best scorers in and risk not having the cash to get to full premo soon enough:

    Duncan -> Lyons/Steele/Parish/Walsh

TU for option 1, TD for option 2.

Mid – bont, Oliver, macrae, Steele, Merrett, Walsh, Taranto, Cripps (brockman, Edwards, Newcombe)

Forwards – Zorko, hall, zieball, dusty, weightman, Coleman jones (waterman, mccreery)

    • Boys………..?

This isn’t just a platform for boys Charlie. I’m a girl and i love supercoach. I rarely post in here but i read a lot of comments and love all the content. I’d really appreciate if you didn’t refer to everyone as boys thankyou.

You have a really good team, i think i would get rid of cripps and bring in neale, or maybe pendles as a bit of a pod to allow another look at neale against the cats this week.

  5. 6 trades left 442K in the bank.

Looking at Jordan to Neale but tempted to wait a week until after he might have a tag from O’Connor.

Was planning to go Heeney to Danger this week. Danger will drop more this week but Heeney has port this week and the way he’s going there’s a chance of a negative score. I’ve already got Ziebell, Martin, Zorko, Bolton.

It’ll leave me with just Weightman and Jones on field and about 139K in the bank with the 4 trades.

    Thoughts or alternatives?

  9. With one premium mid and one premium forward left to go :

    TU: Neale this week
    TD: Bolton this week

Thinking as my F6 (Weightman) is better than my M8 (Bianco) that filling that final mid spot is the way to go.

Looks like he may have found a quarterback role down back.

is he worth bring in at 425k and breakeven of -29??

T/U – Yes, super value will score 90-95+ for rest of season at m8
T/D – No, role is not stable new coach may have other ideas. steer clear.

    • I’m getting him in but my hand has been forced, it’s a big risk for me but it may pay off and it’s almost my only way to still get to full premo and make finals in my league. His bad scores this season have only come when he was playing up forward. When he’s playing midfield, he’s averaging 105ish. As a Pies fan, I highly doubt he goes back forward, especially with McCreery and Elliot back. I can only see him playing midfield or half back for the rest of the season, and both of them should translate to decent scoring.

I’d only do it if you absolutely need to take the risk.

  11. A lot of people jumping on Lachie Neale.

Just to highlight the fact that he won’t play North Melbourne every week who traditionally give up big scores to the oppositions premier midfielder.
I.e. Josh Kelly the week before.

  12. DEF – Laird, Whitfield, Short, Daniel, Lever, Jiath (Jones, Highmore)
MID – Parish, Macrae, Guthrie, Kelly, Merrett, Petracca, Taranto, Mundy (Bianco, Macrae, Newcombe)
    RUC – Gawn, Hickey (Reeves)
FWD – Zorko, Ziebell, Martin, Impey, Poulter, Madden (Ralphsmith, Briggs)

7 trades left with $131,800 remaining

I’m thinking of doing 2 trades this week and then waiting at least 3-4 weeks before making another trade.

    I was thinking:
    OUT – Jones and Poulter
IN – Luke Edwards (via. Bianco DPP) and Bolton

Which leaves me with $46,900 left.

I could wait a week to let Poulter’s price rise, but with Edwards looking to be a rookie with some security on his selection, as well as Jones hurting his hammy, I think that might be the best opportunity for me to upgrade to Bolton. Don’t want to risk waiting a week and having no real third-gamer options left.

My plan from that point is to wait, so I can let rookies like Bianco, Highmore, Madden, Edwards and Newcombe rise as much as they can in the next 4 weeks. Reason being is the ideal situation that is for Dunkley to be my last premo upgrade. He’s predicted to come back in about 4-6 weeks. Madden I hope continues to get some game time and that he can peak around that same time Dunkley returns. If that does all work out (which I won’t assume things straight up knowing how things have gone this year), I’ll have 3 trades left during the Supercoach finals to possibly fix a mid-pricer like Jiath, Lever or Impey if I need to, so I can really give myself a fighting chance.

Hard to split them. Looking at their runs might help you decide:

Grundy’s run home: Dockers, Saints, Tigers, Port, Eagles, Hawks, Lions & Dons

Nic Nat’s run home: Dogs, Swans, Roos, Crows, Saints, Pies, Dees, Dockers & Lions

Grundy with the softer opp. ruck run, but Nic Nat in deadly form.

I voted Nic Nat, but I’m obviously biased lol.

            • You never listed that you had Cripps.

I’d go Cripps + Impey (approx 880K) to a 600K mid and a 100-120k rookie. Gives you 100-150K in the bank. Move Zorko Fwd

For Mids i’d look at Steele, Miller and Wines. They are in the lower end of that 600k club. which will give you more cash in the bank and a reduced risk of losing too much money

That leaves you with better Primo’s and one rookie on field (CCJ) at F6 and enough cash to go CCJ + Highmore to danger in a few weeks once they make more cash

1 x FWD to upgrade to get to full premo + need to sideways trade Robbie Gray soon due to injury (brought him in 5 minutes before the game on the weekend *facepalm*) – targeting DANGER next week once his price bottoms.

NEALE looks tempting, but I’m already full premo in the midfield. Thoughts on sideways trading Brayshaw to NEALE this week?

He will be up and down / also a serious risk of missing games.

I think it’s a point chasing right now and look how that turned out for Heeney owners.

Look elsewhere IMO. Spend the extra bit and get someone stable (especially with trades dwindling for most)

At this stage I’m looking at saving a couple trades and keeping CCJ as F6. He could fall over or get dropped when Lynch is back so if that happens then you can make a more informed decision with more cash from his price increases later on.

Toby a more expensive version of the roller coaster with a much higher floor.

              • Neale is a bit more expensive, and if I’m getting someone at his price, I may as well spend the extra ~30k and get Lyons/Steele. I’m also not completely sold on Neale yet, I can’t entirely trust a score vs North Melbourne and I think he’ll cop an O’Connor tag this week.

I’m tossing up between Lyons and Walsh/Fyfe because the price difference between them means I’ll have enough cash for it to be a needle mover and actually make a difference.

Getting Lyons in gives me the best scorer and probably the best chance to win my league games and make top 8. Getting one of the other two in gives me cash in hand for more comfortable upgrades moving forward.

It’s a dilemma, especially because this year I’ve made mistakes and my new motto is “get the best premo in, worry about cash later”, but with only a few trades left now, it becomes a harder choice.

Downgrade L Jones to L Edwards and bank myself some cash to get Grundy in a few weeks when Treacy fattens up, copping his scores as R2 in the meantime … OR

Complete my team now with L Jones to 102k rookie, and upgrade F7 Daniher to the lump of a lad and future ruck staple Mr Sean Darcy.

Thanks guys, truly stumped with this. Never ask for help otherwise.

    • First off, great name lol and congrats on the rank.

I think you’ve got enough trades (8) to get Grundy in and still have some injury trades.

Only go Darcy/Daniher if you intend to sideways/luxury trade some underperforming premos, otherwise grab Grundy. Take it you’ve got other live cows besides Treacy to supply funds.

      Good luck.

    • What about Amartey on the bubble? A bit more expensive but looked good before the bye. Might help make a quick $70-100k to go up to Grundy.

      • I initially dismissed Amartey because of his cost but I have reassessed. His numbers in the other formats have been very good so if he can tidy up a few things he could be on the verge of a breakout score. Plus he has the R/F capability which goes very well with CCJ thus providing emergency ruck backup. I will swing one of them to R3 when/if Reeves fattens up a bit.

  38. Forwards are currently Zorko, Dusty, Ziebell, Hawkins, Impey plus 3 rookies so want to fill my final premium spot.

    TU: Bolton / Hall
TD: Danger – even though he has a high BE of 138 and will be cheaper next week, I won’t have a spot for him (baring injury and poor form) if I use my final forward spot on Hall or Bolton this week. Unsure if he is a must have.

I do have one mid spot to finish so could trade Danger (or Bolton) into the mids but would rather that last spot for Bont, Lyons or Neale.

    Would love some thoughts….

    • Personally, I’d be tossing up between Danger and Bolton, and forgetting about Hall.
I’d be waiting a week if you can afford to. Bolton’s BE is around 90 this week I think, so if he scores 120ish his price isn’t going to rocket… and it’s worth another look at Danger before bringing him in I think, especially with Duncan now out

  39. Is it worth trading Jack Bowes (404k) > Nick Haynes (366k)? Would leave me with a bit extra in the bank and Haynes looks to have his old role back which would probably mean better scoring potential.

    TU: Yes, do it
    TD: No, not worth it

      • Stuart Dew threw the magnets around in the last quarter against Port so I don’t expect to see Bowes in the forward line this week, although he was quite effective when moved which is a little worrying. I’m concerned with his scoring potential because he’s lost his kick outs to Lukosius and Powell and seems to be playing a defensive lockdown type role. Bowes doesn’t seem to be getting the cheap kicks out of defence anymore and it has really impacted his scoring the last couple weeks. I’m personally leaning towards trading him out as I don’t think he can average 90+ for the rest of the year in his current role.

    • I’m a lukosius holder and was terrified bowes would mean lower lukosius scores, but the opposite seems to be happening. It just depends on the roles that Dew wants, but my boy again seems to be the main distributor and kicks 10 times to each handball which makes for good scoring from modest possessions.
your idea is a bit of a luxury trade, but Haynes def looks to have turned it around so if you have spare trades..why not.

          • My biggest concern about going Bowes > Haynes is that I’m basically trading him out for a player who still has a bit of a question mark as to whether they’re going to be a genuine premium.

At this rate I’ll have 3 trades left after my team is full premium, maybe it’s best to hold Bowes for now and try and get my hands on someone like Mills or Stewart later. Just not all that confident Bowes can hold his price with the role he’s been playing.

            Very torn on this one.

Might wait a few rds to decide whether bowes or impey is more important to trade.
My only issue is bowes losing more cash. But all it takes is one good score i guess, and look what happened to jiath so I guess ill be holding, but if i had 8 trades id consider pulling the trigger for sure.

T/u Sidey (dpp and wont get suspended)
T/d Greene (higher upside but hold your breath)

    Mids – Newcombe/Edwards at M8
    Fwds – Weightman / CCJ at F5 & F6

Initially thinking of getting Neale but not sure if that leaves me vulnerable in the forward line…… and it does all depend on what rookies are available this week!

TD: Fwd first, get Danger / Bolton

  45. Hey everyone!

I’ve got 39k in the bank, 6 trades left. I am 2 fwds away from full premo. Currently I’ve got Weightman and CCJ as F5, F6.

I know that getting to full premo is the way to go, but I can’t help but want to upgrade Cripps to Lyons and roll with CCJ as my F6.

    Current MID:
Macrae, Oliver, Steele, Merrett, Mitchell, Walsh, Taranto, Cripps

Would love some advice as to whether there is any sense in moving Cripps before going full premo.

    Thanks everyone!

Maybe roll with that, but be sure to have a contingency if he does somehow lose his place in the side.

  47. Quick question and not sure where to post it. I am not a herald sun / Supercoach subscriber. I have had access to all the data on the Supercoach app for the whole season but not the news/advice sections.
As of this week, I have now lost access to all the Supercoach subscriber data features.
I’m not complaining because I not a subscriber and feel lucky to have had it in the first place..
Has this happened to anyone else?

TU: Yes – I lost access to all the cool data this week as well.
TD: Must of been a bug in the system. How the hell did you get access to this stuff without a subscription for this long?

  48. Not trading this week.

5 trades left – I usually keep 3 for injuries but with 9 rounds to go and players going down like nine pins in a longer year with less rotations – I reckon I might need more this year. Have been averaging well over 1 injury per week and need to take that into consideration..

2 forwards away from a dubious full team with some underperformers like Cripps in it.

I have Weightman and CCJ as well as Madden and Treacy – All still have money to make so will bide my time for now and keep my twitchy trade finger away from the green button.

I like your comment in the Coaches box.

It so easy to forget something after reverse trading.

If you have SC Plus the Optimise button ( to the right of reverse trades )is well worth a look.
Try it after reversing trades. , Just watch out as it changes Captains and may put injured players on the Bench.

It was a game changer during the Byes.

        Best of luck.

By the way.. I rate Haynes , got him last week 🙂

By the end of the season Neale will have put Taranto away comfortably.

But get to full premo before sideways-ing, Jake.

      On Mr Marshall.

      He still has a BE of 138. ( coming off a 43.)

A projected score of 94 sees him drop $20K this week.

He has missed a lot of football, and you would expect him to spend the majority of his time forward, as he works his way back into match fitness.

I would wait a week at least, if not two.

Try and find the extra cash for Danger if you really want a forward this week. He has a high BE 136 ( maybe slightly cheaper next week.) but he loves playing Brisbane and I think he will come pretty close.

      Best of luck.

    • Hi Paul, Rowan Marshall has a BE of 138 so you could watch how he goes this week after his injury? He will play.
If he scores about 100 he will drop approximately $19k, then the 107 drops out of his 3 game cycle but the 43 remains so he will drop again. All depends on your circumstances and if willing to risk a very good player who has had injury concerns this season.

I have an eye on him as my last forward spot with Dangerfield. Going to evaluate after this round who to take.

Good luck with whatever you decide

Last week my trades were Jordon, Poulter and Byrnes > Newcombe, Greene and Langford

I don’t know whether to make trades this week or hold so any trade advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated. If I was to make any trades it would be to a MID so I can move Langford into the FWD.

    I have 10 trades left, $29,900 ITB

DEF: Laird, Lloyd , Mills, Stewart, Whitfield, Short (Kosi, L.Jones)
MID: Oliver, Macrae, Jelly, ZMerrett, Titch, Walsh, Langford, Newcombe (Bianco, Brockman, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn , Reeves (Grundy)
FWD: Ziebell, Martin , Greene, Impey , Madden, Weightman (Treacy , Waterman)

Doesn’t look like you can get to any decent mids with that bank this week.

Kosi, Weightman and Madden all have more cash to make so should be kept for this week at least.

If you want to set yourself up for next week.. I would look at trading Jones or Waterman down to a rookie. This should make it easy to 1 up 1 down next week to a decent Mid Premo or even a cheap Danger.

      Best of luck.

    Impey and Jones to:
TU: to 2 mid pricers (e.g. McKay and Haynes – which would have to be keepers.)

TD: a rookie and a premo (e.g. Merrett, Wines) – only downfall of this is I would likely finish the year with one rookie on the field due to limited trades (a Weightman or CCJ type)
