  3. If both Sicily and Merritt cop a week with their byes coming up also , 7 rounds left til finals , they only play 5. Even if they go 130 a game it gets 650, am I better off trading to a player who will go 100/110 average but plays the 7 rounds??.
    I’ve just read this back and I’ve already decided, but had it typed.

    1. I think it depends on how many trades you have and how many upgrades you need to do. If you have enough trades to move them on and upgrade your team, with enough left over to cover injuries, then go for it.

      1. 9 trades, 240k in bank, 4 to upgrade, Weddle goes this week to I’m not sure ( can be in any POS but ruck. A message underneath says Merritt is in the green, ranked just outside 5k, so playing for overall as well as league.

    2. Hey Gezza, imo if you’re playing for leagues and think you’ll make the finals anyway, then I’d keep them and save the trades for the finals. The number of times this year I’ve traded a player only for the replacement to get injured or suspended is more than twice! If playing for overall and you think you can cover during best 18 then I’d again keep them. If your reasons fall outside these scenarios then trade away. Best of luck!

      1. I’m ranked just outside 5k mark, so I’m torn between overall and my cash league( top scorer but in 8th), every one gets up vs me, if I trade Sicily the coin to upgrade my last 4 rookies will come in handy,

  4. Another dilemma (besides Sicily) for me is Gawn vs Briggs. One of them im trading for a rookie to free up $350 – $400k for final ugrades.

    Recent form wise im keen to trade Gawn but with English as R1 ill be fielding 16 in R15, so i think to just keep Gawn and accept his low tonnes.

    Priced at $295k, even if he’s not in your final team, will make some better cash than some of the dead rookies…

    2. Hey Archie, not sure why you would go Briggs to Dcam- looks very sideways to me at this point.. Briggs going great guns and imo Dcam has a ceiling due to sharing the role with Cox.

      1. I think Hump’s dual position gives him the edge to keep as bench cover on 2 lines. Both should be best 22 until the end of the season without injuries.

    1. I think you might have a bit too much money sitting on the bench once your team is complete. If you are finished with 6 or 7 trades left you can (hopefully) cover any injuries/ suspensions with a trade.

      I’d be looking at keeping say one decent F7, M9, D7 as cover and upgrading the rest of your cashed up cows and Curnow/ Cripps into uber premos you don’t have and fresh rookies.

      I also wouldn’t bring Ryan in. The last 4 rounds haven’t looked too flash. Dale? Or once you have Dawson you will have a really strong defence anyway, maybe risk a Himmelberg at D6 if it helps strengthen your Mid and forward lines?

  25. A little undecided as to which way to go.

    Option 1 – Out Green Callaghan & Cincotta – In Sinclair Anderson & Thomas. That allows me to do the following trades for round 15:
    Out – Ratagulea & Ashcroft – In Oliver & Keays.

    Option 2 Out – Green Callaghan & Cincotta – In Sinclair Serong & Thomas. Then the following week it would be just Out – Ratagulea In Oliver.

    Option 1 will leave me 5 trades for the run home whilst option 2 will give me 6.

    Not at full premo but only 2 rookies on field (Wardlaw & Ford).

    Which option do coaches think I should go for.?

      1. In my opinion yes.
        2 reasons
        Helps me get to 18 players for round 15.
        CD do not score him favorably. Gets a truckload of ball but that does not seem to equate to SC points. Probably DE I suppose.

  42. Overall is out of the question now so focusing on leagues. Need some feedback on how bonkers I’m being. Thinking of bringing in Fyfe and Thomas for O. Baker and Simpson. Leaves me with eight trades and only one other non-premo of the field (Humphrey). Still have JVR, Ford, S. Mitchell and Weddle on the bench who can fatten up some more by round 17 or so. Can use the cash to upgrade to a couple fallen premos to finish off the team in hopefully three trades, leaving the rest for injuries.

      Target Constable, Drury, Davey and Roberts all doubtful bye or not.
      Cincotta, Weddle, Wardlaw, Johnson, Ford, Angwin and Mitchell all making money still and scoring half ok..

    1. Not sure about this one Joe. Fyfe has a better ceiling and similar floor. Mitchell has been really consistent and looks fairly durable, which is a knock on Fyfe… if you have the spare trade then sure !

    1. Maybe Sicily to Sinclair puts 100K in the bank.
      Weddle via Dawson to Fyffe adds another 60K.
      If you hold Sheezel for the rest of the year you have sort of finished your Backline and Ruck and can concentrate mid and fwd with a little bit more money in the bank.

  73. Well Angwin is out, so I’ll have to trade him out.

    I’ve got $227k spare, but I don’t have enough to upgrade to a decent premo.

    I don’t really want to bring in Fyfe or Thomas, because I don’t trust them one bit.
    Plus I’m feeling like I need to bring in a cheaper rookie in case Cincotta isn’t picked. If that does end up being the case, I can use the money to upgrade him.

    Would it be worth trading in Buller, or should I swap him out for a MID/FWD player to get a rookie with better JS?

  77. Was mucking around with my team this morning on my phone and did 3 trades, forgetting for a moment that the round has started. I thought I would be able to click undo changes and reverse trades all in one go but it looks like I have to click into each player individually and do it? Has anyone done it? Do I just click on the update trade on the player I’ve traded in and trade back in the player I’ve traded out, and do that 3 times, and that doesn’t then count as a trade?
    I don’t have many trades left so want to make sure that’s how I reverse what I’ve done. None of the 3 trades I have done involve Geelong or Port players.
