Callum Mills this week or wait a week and cough up an extra 30K to see if he is a legit D6?
11 trades and decent cash gen left, 2 rookies off full premo
TU: This week
TD: Next week
Tu: Make my final upgrades this week but will leave me with 4 trades remaining with a fully complete team
Td: Wait till the likes of Johnson & Carroll make more $$, probably won’t make my last upgrade for another couple of weeks but could end up saving an extra trade which will leave me with 5 trades remaining with a fully complete team
I have 8 trades
If i make 3 trades to get mills at D6 to end on 5 trades with 20 premiums (including matt roberts, bolton and caleb daniel)
is that fine
TU: Make the 3 trades
TD: I make 2 trades for mills but have to get rid of mcaulliffe
Yeah I think he is an option mate, taking out his injury game he is averaging 109 this year. Has a high BE of 147 this week but has Richmond and very favourable draw for remainder of season. I feel him and JHF are both genuine options at serious value due to injuries. Especially with the likes of Warner, Rankine and Bolton all underperforming of late.
Yep he was my POD at the start of the year and very happy with him early on until injured. Now I’m trying to get him back in but don’t have a way yet. He’s highly likely to have a field day against Richmond
I currently own Sheldrick, and while he has been scoring okay recently, I worry that guys like Mills and Gulden returning may eat away at his opportunities.
I know 1 game sample size for Mccarthy isnt much and he won’t drop 130+ every week, but he looked quite good
I’m liking Jack Martin as good coverage, should also get def/fwd next intake. Really want S Darcy but no obvious way to fund it with underperforming rookies so might have to settle for this option
Best bottom-price rookie outside of Mccarthy to bring in? Need to get Mills (due to trade and cash gen constraints) or I probably won’t be able to hit 23 premos, trading out Pedlar and Clarke (or two dead rookies) and need a basement priced rookie to finish the trade, is Madden safe to field?
Tu: Fonti to Mills. Just Hewett at F6 to upgrade
Td: Fonti, Hustwaite, Hewett to Mills, JHF, Liddy (or any 99k with mid status). Will have a complete team with 4 injury / Luxury trades left.
Tough one, Chad probably slightly ahead because he has a game this week. Rankine down on form but still having serviceable scores, has the Tiges next week too. They’ll probably end up similar ROS, with Chad having more high highs and low lows
7 trades left and no cash in bank. Do either of these trades look good for the next couple of weeks?
TU: Gawn > TDK, Clarke > 99k, Gray > Dylan Moore or Sam Darcy depending on cash avail. 4 trades left but full 23 prems + phill and T.Mcc as backups
TD: Clarke > Bo Allan, Roberts > Bont. Leaving 22 prems and Phillipou as F6, but super strong players in the 22
Asking this week as prob will pull the trigger on the Gawn to TDK move this week if so… Reasoning would be Gawn’s tough run + cash to do the F6 upgrade.
Thanks all and thanks for everything this season SC Talk crew!
Then I’m thinking next week
Clarke > Allen (Adds another $80-100k)
Kako > Butler or Ramsden (Another $100k+)
Either getting my final premo forward that week or the week after to get a full premo side by the time the byes have finished. Looking at getting JHF back in at this point
Jack Martin is very injury prone, but probably has better job security than Butler
As Worpel now needs to come back into the Hawks team – and then Butler is competing with guys like Cam MacKenzie & Finn Maginness & maybe even Jack Scrimshaw
Currently have Short at D6 – yes, I held!
Not sure it’s worth downgrading to Mills – burn a trade but get some cash to upgrade a dead rookie to Darcy at flex.
For context – full (alleged) premo with Johnson at Flex currently and could wait for Carroll/Clarke/Johnson to ripen and grab a ‘stronger’ fallen premo instead of Darcy.
Would’ve loved to have traded a more dead rookie (hust, gray,) over hall but couldn’t quite afford it.
I’ve moved martin to defence to bring in darcy as f6 and mills as d6 (for now). Prestia as flex.
Leaves me with only 7 trades but basically ‘full premo’ in an ideal world mills and prestia average 95+ but should be easy sideways in a few weeks when they inevitably go down.
Callum Mills this week or wait a week and cough up an extra 30K to see if he is a legit D6?
11 trades and decent cash gen left, 2 rookies off full premo
TU: This week
TD: Next week
Can Mcarthy be a genuine D6 option?
Was planning on grabbing Mills this week, however do I just plan on grabbing my last fwd instead?
Thoughts appreciated!
1 game might be a tad early to rate for D6 worthiness… what do you think?
WCE will properly drop McCarthy next game they don’t seem to play their rookies for many games.
He’s not a teenage rookie, surely plays out the season.
D7 loop perhaps. i plan on using him to loop with Mills as my 23rd.
I need to downgrade a couple – Gray, Simpson and Hust
Who are the targets?
I’ve already got McCarthy
Playing for overall, decision on my hands..

Possibly thinking a cheaper D6:
T/U: Callum Mills
T/D: Tom Stewart
T/u – Rozee
T/d – Sheezel
TU: Sam Darcy
TD: JHF
LAST DEFENDER SPOT
TU – BAILEY DALE (558K)
TD – NAS (528K)
10 Trades left – 85k ITB
TD – Flynn -> Darcy
TD – Flynn -> NAS / Dale & E. Hewett -> Rookie
Not usually a key position man but Is Sam Darcy a legitimate forward option?
Yeah I think he is an option mate, taking out his injury game he is averaging 109 this year. Has a high BE of 147 this week but has Richmond and very favourable draw for remainder of season. Thoughts on Dion Prestia as M8 or flex!?
TU- Roberts to Prestia, bank extra 30k for final upgrade next week
TD- save trade (10 left)
TU: Sam Darcy
TD: Mills
Comment: NWM
Mills this week, Darcy next week IMO
That was what I was thinking cheers!
TU Sam Darcy
Td jhf
Thoughts on Prestia? Was also weighing up JHF, just mindful of that niggle he copped in the last ten minutes.
TU = Prestia
TD = JHF
JHF is fine. Coach said he got a ‘stinger’ on his shoulder. Could have come back on, but game was safe.
What is mills role? Has he been playing in midfield or defence ?
Suspect he’s going to be a utility, bit of HB, wing and mid. But he seems a safe pick at his price, Touchwood on another injury of course!
Will Sam Butler get the midfield time instead of Hustwaite?
TU = Trade Hust for Butler
TD = No
Butler has looked very solid, and it looks like Hustwaite is now going back to the two’s
Butler has even been getting some CBA’s in the past couple of weeks – all whilst Hawthorn have had 2 x great wins against quality opposition
I like him for SC, and will be bringing him in next week
Draft league:
T/U: Sheldrick
T/D: T McCarthy
I currently own Sheldrick, and while he has been scoring okay recently, I worry that guys like Mills and Gulden returning may eat away at his opportunities.
I know 1 game sample size for Mccarthy isnt much and he won’t drop 130+ every week, but he looked quite good
TU: Clark
TD: NAS (already have sinclair and macrae)
is will hayes viable
TU: Yes
TD: No
TU – JHF
TD – J Macrae
I’m liking Jack Martin as good coverage, should also get def/fwd next intake. Really want S Darcy but no obvious way to fund it with underperforming rookies so might have to settle for this option
Any thoughts on Nick Maddens job security?
poor, to very poor
good until briggs is back and then instantly dropped
Best bottom-price rookie outside of Mccarthy to bring in? Need to get Mills (due to trade and cash gen constraints) or I probably won’t be able to hit 23 premos, trading out Pedlar and Clarke (or two dead rookies) and need a basement priced rookie to finish the trade, is Madden safe to field?
My alternative is probably just Pedlar to Martin and hope beyond hope I am able to find a way to make enough cash to go up
Thinking 6 premos out round 16 is too much.
Going to upgrade W.Ashcroft to…
TU – Hewett
TD – Rozee
Is nick madden worth it
tu yes
td no
job security
tu n. madden
td s. butler
Too many rd16 premos:
TU – Dunkley to Hewett
TD – Neale to Brayshaw
9 trades left, 1 premo to finish fwd line, which I plan to next week with darcy
7 trades and $153k inb pre trades
Tu: Fonti to Mills. Just Hewett at F6 to upgrade
Td: Fonti, Hustwaite, Hewett to Mills, JHF, Liddy (or any 99k with mid status). Will have a complete team with 4 injury / Luxury trades left.
Already have McCarthy on my mid bench
Luxury trade (10 trades left and full promo)L
Daniel -> Darcy?
TU: NAS
TD: Callum Mills
Have 211k if I choose Mills
have 23 trades 2 boosts
Can I please borrow some of your remaining 23 trades 🙂
It’s my new account haha but yeah sure
16 on my other one only because I didn’t trade for the first few rounds.
Who has the better JS as a Fwd downgrade?
Jack Martin TU
Ramsden / Butler (Haw) TD
Who scores more from here?
T/u – Macrae
T/d – Darcy
Better combination to complete the team?
T/u – Sheezel + JHF
T/d – Rozee + Darcy
Would everyone still go with Sheezel if all I can afford was Macrae instead of JHF?
T/u – Sheezel + Macrae
T/d – Rozee + Darcy
trade in the whole carlton team thoughts?
Who is a better forward option now. Rankine or Chad warner ? I already have JHF in the team.
Tough one, Chad probably slightly ahead because he has a game this week. Rankine down on form but still having serviceable scores, has the Tiges next week too. They’ll probably end up similar ROS, with Chad having more high highs and low lows
Ok have potentially a ridiculous question for trade options.
Team is (after Hardeman > Mills this week):
Sinc, Holmes, Zorko, Dale, Sheezel, Roberts (Gray, Clarke)
Libba, Daicos, Merrett, Neale, Cerra, Butters, Brayshaw, Rozee (Hust, Saad, T. Mcc)
Gawn, Xerri (Boyd)
Smith, Martin, Daniel, Warner, Rankine, Phillipou (Gross, Simpson)
Mills
7 trades left and no cash in bank. Do either of these trades look good for the next couple of weeks?
TU: Gawn > TDK, Clarke > 99k, Gray > Dylan Moore or Sam Darcy depending on cash avail. 4 trades left but full 23 prems + phill and T.Mcc as backups
TD: Clarke > Bo Allan, Roberts > Bont. Leaving 22 prems and Phillipou as F6, but super strong players in the 22

Thanks all and thanks for everything this season SC Talk crew!
Oliver to Mills?
Probably score about the same
Any rookie you can move up to Mills?
Slightly unsure how to attack the run home. 9 trades left, 22 premos, but minimal cash generation:
TU:
Use 3 trades to get Clarke to a $400kish (Mills) in flex
TD:
Use McCarthy in flex, upgrade lower end premos instead (Dunkley, Daniel, Rankine, etc)
This week:
Hustwaite > Rowston
Pedlar > Martin
Gives me $133k
Then I’m thinking next week
Clarke > Allen (Adds another $80-100k)
Kako > Butler or Ramsden (Another $100k+)
Either getting my final premo forward that week or the week after to get a full premo side by the time the byes have finished. Looking at getting JHF back in at this point
job security
tu – ramsden
td – butler
S Butler or J Martin?
Team is complete, this is for the long haul….
Tough call
Jack Martin is very injury prone, but probably has better job security than Butler
As Worpel now needs to come back into the Hawks team – and then Butler is competing with guys like Cam MacKenzie & Finn Maginness & maybe even Jack Scrimshaw
TU – Whitfield
TD – George Hewett
TU: JHF
TD: Nas
TU: JHF
TD: Nas
Currently have Short at D6 – yes, I held!
Not sure it’s worth downgrading to Mills – burn a trade but get some cash to upgrade a dead rookie to Darcy at flex.
TU
TD
For context – full (alleged) premo with Johnson at Flex currently and could wait for Carroll/Clarke/Johnson to ripen and grab a ‘stronger’ fallen premo instead of Darcy.
Better back
TU: Holmes
TD: Sinclair
Geelongs second half of season is the easiest
Should I trade Rankine for Ned long
TU: Yes
TD: No
TU: Brock + Flynn –> McCarthy + Whitfield. Leaves me with 11 trades left and 1 more upgrade for full premo.
TD: Brock + Flynn + Erasmus + Clarke –> McCarthy + Whitfield + 99k + Mills. Gets me to ‘full’ premo with 9 trades left (Mills flex and Roberts D6).
Finally cashing in Archer Reid in at R3 but who do I trade him to?
TU: Madden and maybe get some surprise cash
TD: Misc non-playing ruc/fwd that will allow me to cover ruck injuries better
If you trade in Madden, will you have enough trades to trade him out to get the cash?
How many ‘premos’ will you have on field for R16?
TU – Less than 18
TD – 18 or more
Is George Hewett a viable option?
TU- YES (Will average 108+)
TD- NO (Fluked his start to the year)
I currently have Gawn and Xerri as rucks, and TDK as flex.
I have two more upgrades to make to get to full premo – Pedlar and B.Paton in forward line.
Is it madness to trade TDK down next week to Tom McCarthy as a cash grab, then use the cash to upgrade to Darcy and JHF?
Using those 3 trades would leave me 6 trades left:
TU: TDK out (next week), Tom Mac in
TD: hold TDK and wait for more cows to fatten
Out: Lachie Neale, Clarke and Pedlar
In: Nas, Mills and Rowston
TU or TD
Better mid
TU: Dunkley
TD: Washcroft
brock, flynn, hall > Mills, darcy, prestia
Would’ve loved to have traded a more dead rookie (hust, gray,) over hall but couldn’t quite afford it.
I’ve moved martin to defence to bring in darcy as f6 and mills as d6 (for now). Prestia as flex.
Leaves me with only 7 trades but basically ‘full premo’ in an ideal world mills and prestia average 95+ but should be easy sideways in a few weeks when they inevitably go down.
