  1. There’s gonna be a lot of rage trades that will probably be reversed by next weekend, but the one certainty is Gibcus to D’Ambrosio. Luckily I kept some cash in the bank.

    1. Why are people even considering Fisher out?
He has the role as he did all pre season. Just a bad game, it happens. Could potentially be a top 6-8 forward come end of season. Just my thought process..

      1. For mine it’s to cover defensive injury.

Reality is with the byes we can probably hold fast, especially if we’re waiting for a non round 0 player to come onto the bubble.

        1

        4
        1. Exactly !!!!! If you have 22 warm bodies this week why trade unless you lose a premo for some reason? Even D’Ambrosio has another week before the bubble.

        1. For me, I just don’t like having mipricers in that $350-450k range cause it’s really hard to make money from it unless he does become a top tier forward but there’s just so many options who are cheaper right now and could end up in that space. Frustrated I brought him in to follow the crowd but very happy to boot him to get back to a structure I like

          15

          2
      3. Nick bang on. Hold Fish for now. Still in an ostensibly good role.

2 of Fish, Sheez and Kerch will pop each week. Only so much economy to go around.

        8

        1. Definitely see the point but if I’d have to back 2 of the 3 in, I prefer the guy who’s already proven to be great and the cheap rookie with lots of potential

          15

          1
      4. I’m still confused as to where all the rage for him in the first place came from? What am / did I miss…?

        4

        3
        1. Far from accurate if you ask me. He scored reasonably well in the same role for the blues at the back end of last season. Has the same role for a side who is going to see plenty of the ball down back. Think it’s more of a case of people chasing points. Guess time will tell, however for me it’s a firm hold for another week at least.

  2. Rage trading Fisher to cover Reid-d’Ambrosio looks likely.

    Still undecided on Fisher’s replacement.

Billings or McKercher are possibilities. Billings being the Sub in Rnd 0 still haunts me even though it was a free hit.

But surely they have to give him a proper run after this?

    9

    1
  3. Hew to Flanders on bubble seems a no brainer…

    Bud to Assbro maybe.

No def bench cover as I’ll have Reid and Gib there. Are there any good def rooks?

    Want Sharp and Dempsey rooks
    Want Fyfe and Billings too
    Arghhhhhhh i need more trades

    9

    1
  4. Reverting to the initial structure I’d planned:

Wines -> Dempsey (via Wilson DPP)
    Sanders -> Sharp
    Gibcus -> Ryan

Will look at D’Ambrosio next week.

    3

    39
    1. Surely a little reactionary on Wines and Samders. Sanders will make 200k and Wines is absolutely a slut but was struggling with the heat.

      35

  5. I had Gibcus at D5 and Reid at D6. Put VC on Naicos, but after Thursday night Naismith was my only non green dot for the round so no loophole options after Pies game. Has C on Rozeee, and just now watched Serong (M4) top score for the round. Not sure rage trading will help, its going to be a long year. Is it cricket season again yet? 🙂

  6. thinking gibcus to dean, fisher to hogan and clark to cadman (with dpp changes) for a 1 week cash grab of around 130-150k hopefully. then trading all 3 out after r3. might be too aggressive but trying to get creative with 40 trades

    5

    28
    1. The trades themselves are ok. But burning three trades on 1 week’s cash growth is ludicrous.

      1

  7. DEF – Daicos, Stewart, Sheezel, Williams, Gibcus, Howes (Reid, Coffield)
MID – Bont, Merrett, Green, Newcombe, Miller, McKercher, Sanders, Roberts (Carroll, Sharp, Clark)
    RUC – Gawn, Grundy (Livingstone)
FWD – Jackson, Flanders, Fyfe, Jordon, Reid, Sexton (Wilson, Campbell)

    $49k ITB

Obviously Gibcus is the automatic trade here. Can’t upgrade him to D’Ambrossio sadly. For me I’m thinking out of Dawson, Hore and Dean as the one to replace him.

I’m giving Newcombe one more week. If he does similar or worse again this coming round, I’ll just bring in Steele.

Other than that, I’m happy with how my side did

    1. Amazing fade on Fisher, WW.

You were right. Glad I didn’t sway you. Props.

Sanders to 123k could get Gib -> Mass done but up to you if you want to be that reactionary.

      1

      7
      1. I mean there is every realistic chance in the world that Fisher can make me eat my words, but I’m happy my instincts have been right so far.

Sanders I’m not sweating on just yet. 43 in 55% TOG is still decent for a rookie, and I was surprised that Bevo actually subbed him, there were far worse players still on by the time he got the red vest. I mean Windsor got subbed too for Melbourne in that same match, and he did pretty well.

Plus there’s not a lot of other mid rookies options I’d trust to score decently in his place.

I’m probably looking at Gibcus > Dawson purely because he has no first bye, whereas Dean and Hore do.

        7

  8. TU- Billings over Windsor/McKercher
TD- Miss Billings or get later
Is Billings on the bubble? Sorry, I am a newby. He has a low BE, but was sub in 1st game so not sure. Thanks

  9. Gibcus Replacement

    TU – Dean
    TD – Coffield

Have $270k to spend and already have D’Ambrosio

    30
  10. OUT: Gibcus and Lazarro
    IN: Miller and Heeney

Yes it fries my team in Rounds 3 and 5 but I may as well have some fun this year

    20

    1. Could be worth waiting on Touk, I know he’ll go up a bit this week but will still be affordable in two weeks when you’ve been able to have a better look at things. Maybe by round 4 there’s someone you need to cut more urgently than Lazaro and could turn them into Touk then.
Heeney’s got a few more games before his bye to keep going up in price so he feels more urgent to jump on

      5

      0
      1. Yeah you’re right. The problem is I ummed and aahed about starting him all preseason, decided not to because of the bye and now he is killing it of course.

Regrets hit hard! Hopefully by Thursday I’ll have calmed down a bit.

  11. horrible score round 1 ranked around 70,000 and need to make moves

fisher, gibcus, clarke > billings, t.berry, massimo

know it might be reactionary to fisher but his heatmap doesnt fill me with much confidence, and watching the game he went missing for long periods of time.
Billings looks good and that 11 will drop out of his price cycle, and t berry is not great with the round 3 bye but with best 18 scoring (good bench cover in dempsey) and the potential to make over 100k in 2 weeks of scores of only 60 he’s worth the risk (-75 breakeven btw and a decent role by the looks). Massimo is a gun
need to take some gambles, thoughts?

  12. I have a case of forgetfulness!

I want to trade out Clarke in the mids and move Wilson from forward to the mids so I can bring in another forward rookie.

For the life of me I can’t remember how to this?

    HELP.

  13. Have $110k inb. What is the biggest priority

Tu: Take out Gibcus (i could wait a week but also have Reid and Williams so only 21 on field)

Td: Bring in Heeney (for fisher)

    16

    5
  14. Feeling a bit uneasy doing such an early trade like this, but with the early price changes I don’t have the luxury to wait and see another week. Looking at this as an upgrade and rookie recalibration.

    Thoughts?

    Buderick -> D’Ambrossio
    Fisher -> Rowell

    21

    1. I’m erring on the side of caution and will give them another week. Can get Gibcus to D’Ambrosio alone.

      3

    1. I’ve got him and am giving him one more week. He just didn’t tackle and gave away 3 frees. If he spuds up again I’ll look at Steele.

  15. Out – newcomb, N martin(get out of my mids unacceptable scores) , Z Reid.

In-heeney, Flanders (top 4’s) massimo. def rookies suck, moving Williams to d7 for cover.

    8

    1
      1. Byes made me select them.
        Flanders heeney wasn’t sold on.
        Am sold now.
And yes they will both tonne up. But won’t outscore heeney Flanders for rest of the season.

        4

        2
  16. Having no def/mid swing option has prolapsed my pooper in the wake of the Gibcus/Reid carnage.

Can anybody loan me 20k to bring in Heeney?

    4

    2
    1. I have both. Getting rid of both.
Too many good scorers around their price
Steel, crouch, touk, flanders, heeney, sheez etc.
Will you regret not selecting any of the mentioned players down the trac if they are near the top of their lines? If yes go for it now.

  17. Fish and Gibcus to Massimo and Billings.
For me I think Billings is a must. Problem is I don’t have the money so i need to break up either Martin or fish into cash. So idk. Not my fave trade but it’s kind of necessary

    3

    1
  18. Wouldn’t it be funny if things reversed again this round?!
Grundy smashes it & Gawn spuds or runs out of gas
Harmes makes amends & Billings spuds or is the sub
    😉

    1. I trust trust magnets … demons backline looked good with Hore when he initially debuted, and once again against the dogs tallish forward line. I’d go Hore

      4

      2
  19. For those who watched Freo vs Bris, what was up with Young? His stats seemed okay but low efficiency and gave away free kicks. Was the role there?

    Giving him another week.

    8

    1
    1. Role is there no worries, played through the midfield, however, had a shocker of a day with turnovers and free kicks. Started the game off with 20 points in the opening 5 minutes but that changed dramatically following a free kick against and then a 50m penalty. Never recovered from there. Definite hold.

      8

      0
      1. I’ve noticed CD do this a lot where if a player has a couple of turnovers in the first quarter they just do not recover from it for the rest of the game.

        7

        0
    2. Also Freo had a few injured off the field, so they put him in the backline, from 1/2 way through the 3 quarter until end of game.
Was getting plenty of it early, but gave away 4-5 free kicks.

      4

  20. I didn’t go well at all, had the usual suspects mentioned. Newcombe, Martin, Fisher along with Amon (89) can someone please let me know about Amon’s role on the weekend..

I have patience with the others for another week but Amon is his role there? Is he a hold of am I better off cutting my losses for a Heeney or Flanders?

    1

    0
      1. No need to trade out Sicily if the ban isn’t overturned. Despite the increase of trades, you don’t overreact off one game when it comes to your premiums. Best 18 anyways and besides if you trade him out this week, you’ll be making two trades to get him back.

Amon’s role was there, running off half forward through the midfield. If there’s no injury concern, no need to think about trading him.

        8

    TU: Keep
TD: Use a boost, Trade to a Cow for $

    3
    1. If you can possibly do Gibcus straight to Mass, it could be worth waiting. Fisher might do well while Fyfe spuds it up this week and then the trade isn’t as necessary. In saying that, I can’t afford Gibcus to Mass so I’m trading Fisher to BIllings to fund it but that’s also cause billings goes up in price this week

      3

      0
      1. I can’t quite get up to Mass from Gibcus, ideally I would’ve been able to get up directly, and would’ve held a week. I am using funds from Fisher to Fyfe (or Billings – not sure who is the better option) to allow the first trade.

        4

  22. A lot didn’t like my team when I first did it last week but looking to see what y’all think of the final version obvious trades would be Reid & gibcus…

Def: Naicos, Houston, Whitfield, Salem, ZWillaims, gibcus (Reid, coffield)
Mids: Dawson, Butters, gulden, Anderson, miller, sanders, Windsor, Robert’s (Lazzaro, Clark, Mannagh)
    Ruck: Grundy, Jackson (sweet)
FWDs: Flanders, Heeney, Jordon, Reid, TBerry, Sexton (Wilson, Cadman)

Also if any league have available spots give me a shout and I’ll join

  25. 2 Trades this week
    Gibcus to Hore
    Martin to Heeney

Feel like there is ALOT of hyper-fixation on round 1 scores. However, I feel like this year is slightly different in the sense of mid-price madness and huge potential of some of the bubble boys. Have seriously considered bringing Jesse Hogan in this week haha
Came down to either Flanders or Heeney this week, I just can’t dismiss Heeney. I love Martin and think he is a great value pick but doing this allows more flexibility in terms of D6. Flanders to come in after his bye. Massimo and Fyfe a watch.

    8

    1
    1. Hogan will make at worst 60k this week and 70k if he tons- 100k next game he plays after that! The epitome of a quick buck!!!

      6

      0
      1. Massimo & Clark aernt on the bubble yet hold Clark for one more week and see how Massimo & Clark go, get berry & billing’s as they are on the bubble then you have an extra weeks data to find out if Massimo score was warranted or just an outlier

        6

        0
        1. Sadly don’t have a dpp swing so Gibcus has to go for another defender but that is exactly what I want to do. Just can’t quite swing it. I won’t boost so will probably just miss Berry cause it’s either him or Billings and the latter’s bye isn’t next week

          2

          0
  26. Is Heeney a must this week?
Or is he sucking us all in and going to be pushed fwd more and become a liability in our side..

    TU: Get him in
TD: Didn’t start him now pass

    8

    19
  27. TU : Gibcus out for D’Ambrosia AND Fisher out for Heeney
TD : Gibcus out for Hore as he’s on the bubble.(D’Ambosia can be next week for Reid). Give Fisher a chance.

Peeved that I went with the masses on Fisher, he wasn’t on my radar but got suckered into the FOMO mentality. Would usually wait for a under performing player to have played 2 games, but with Heeney on the bubble, feel he will go up more quickly than say Miller/Flanders who have the bye in R3.

    8

    2
    1. Just realized Hore didn’t play Round 0 so NOT on the bubble. In which case I may as well do Gibcus to D’Ambrosia.

      8

      1
  28. Out: English, N Martin & Gibcus
In: Gawn, DAmbrosio, Merrett Or Serong

    TU: yep, corrective
    TD: No, raging at best

    37
  29. My thinking is all three will need to go, so might as well get them out early before the others rise …

Out: Fisher, Gibcus & Fin Macrae
In: Billings, Massimo & Sam Berry

Alternatively, I do the one trade with Gibcus coming out for Hore. Thoughts …

    7

    3
  30. I might have this all wrong Gibcus will not change price and with a full team except for Gibcus why would you use a trade at Rd2, wait until players reach their second game and price increases, it’s only one week

    6

    0
    1. Hi hinsch,
Normally you would be right but don’t forget Round zero.
With Windsor, Berry, Roberts, Sexton, Howes, Cadman all on the bubble.
I am trading Gibcus for Berry via Daicos.

      7

      0
  31. Out: Newcombe, Fisher
    In: Rowell, Hogan

    TU: Good Value
    TD: Waste of trades

I don’t want to miss out on Rowell, Hogan better price rise than fisher.

    9

    17
  32. Gibcus to Hore
    J Clark to Mannagh
    Fisher to Heeney
I don’t really like the Clark move but this leaves me with $400 in the bank and allows me to bring in Heeney.

    7

    9
  33. Does anyone remember the sage advice of Father Douglal?

Premiums will revert to their mean so chasing spikes from past weeks is fraught with danger.

    PS
    Grundy
    Heeney
    Rd1
    Gawn
    Serong
    Heeney
    Ryan
    Etc.

    HEENEY

    11

    1
    1. Heeney has a role change at present. How long it lasts for is another question.

But on current form, as a coach, when Adams comes back are you removing Heeney from the midfield rotation or someone else?

      1

      0
  34. Who to trade?
TU: J Clark – got more ball but butchered; likely to come good.
TD: Mannagh – less ball, used better, potentially behind Clark for spot.

    Cheers.

    1

    13
    1. I’d wait two weeks, just to see if Martin turns things around. You’ll miss one week of cash growth from Touk but could be worth it in case Martin turns things around and maybe another player you have gets hurt in the meantime

      3

      0
  35. Scored really well this week so hesitant to do anything unforced but have Gibcus and a couple of players who didnt play. Note im playing from overseas so dont want to risk waiting for teams. Im not concerned trading in a rookie who scored low so long as they played and likely not to be dropped.

TU: Gibcus to one of pink/dean/reid
TD: Hustwaite gets done for not playing down to maybe Mannagh and Gibcus to d’Ambrossio

    0

    9
  36. Gibcus to Cadman (via DPPs) a no brainer.

Is it worth dropping Z.Williams and Fisher to get Heeney? Alternatively, does Young go for Heeney for just the one trade?

Or is Libba worth selling with a large breakeven and to allow a large warchest next week?

    0

    8
  37. Controversial, however just a thought at this stage which may take place.

    Gibcus > Massimo
    Fisher > Heeney
    Bont > Serong

Hear me out.. trading out Bont may seem ludicrous, however I need the funds to accomodate the other 2 moves which seem essential (Heeney & Massimo) at this point. Bont to Serong is the only logical ‘sideways’ premo swap that makes sense as I bank 100k in the move whilst doing so.

Plan will be to pick up Bont when he drops under 700k and on the other end if we fade Serong early he may be someone we need to pay up 700k for.

Please take the time to read through my thought process carefully, feedback and thoughts appreciated!!

    1

    33
    1. As someone who didn’t start Bont, I don’t exactly expect him to drop below $700k and if he does, it won’t be by much. May as well hold the best player in the competition rather than burn a trade getting rid of him only to have to use 2 or 3 to get him back later in the season. Serong won’t be scoring 170 every week

      8

      0
      1. Correct, however I do expect Serong to be a top 8 midfielder this season and has the best bye in the game. Heeney and Massimo seem like must haves this week, the only way to do so is by ‘sideways’ trading a premo to a less expensive premo and banking the 70k or so extra that I need to accommodate the moves.

        Any other suggestions?

        1

        4
    2. Not a fan tbh. You’re spending 3 trades with little to no gain. Like a below comment says you’re gonna need to burn 2-3 trades to get bont back and unless he gets injured he isn’t gonna bleed enough cash to make it worthwhile. I think you need to better find the funds as trading Bont will cause you too many headaches

      9

      0
      1. I don’t want to trade a rookie down such as Reid or Williams as I feel like they will be too important to have and could end up disastrous not owning them considering the amount of $$ they could make.

I understand the point you are making on Bont, however it’s the same for the people who aren’t starting him. They are going to have to find 2-3 trades to get to him. I feel as though Serong will be a top 8 midfielder and go close to averaging 120 this season. Based on that, I gain 100k from downgrading Bont now and 50k from Serongs price rise.. 150k worth downgrading 1 trade for?
Possibly. Just trying to get creative as I feel like Heeney could be a must have if he continues to be the swans number 1 CBA mid. If I miss the boat on him now I will also be paying up. I can’t think of anyone else in my team to ‘sideways’ as such to accommodate these moves.. food for thought.

        0

        4
        1. The difference between your situation and those that haven’t started bont is they aren’t spending a trade to get rid of him first. I don’t believe bont will drop 100k but lets say he does for the sake of the argument. Is the 100k drop worth the 1 trade to get rid and the 2-3 trades to get him back? I just don’t think so. Whilst we have 40 trades so the value of a trade has decreased somewhat I just don’t thik it is. And early signs are Serong is going to breakout but we saw enough evidence last year to suggest he’s going to have a down game/be tagged at some point to get hin back.

          4

          0
  38. Is it worth sideways trading to someone to the less value to bank the funds to enable me to do the following trades?

    Fisher > Heeney
    Gibcus > Massimo

    Examples include:
    H. Reid/ Sanders > Sharp
    Z. Williams > Hore
Ect.. need to find an extra 70k or so to accomodate the above 2 trades, which seem essential.

    Thoughts appreciated!

    0

    13
    1. Defiitely wouldn’t be dropping either of those examples. All 3 are so highly owned you’re gonna be so far behind the 8 ball. I personally am not sure heeney and Mass are THAT essential personally but thats just me

      6

      1
      1. Yeah, would have to agree here. I started Heeney and am stoked with his score but he’ll definitely put up a couple of 50 or 60s this year. He’ll certainly have a chance to dip in price.

Massimo you can have another free look at before he changes in price so isn’t a must have this week but you seem to have the cash to straight swap him with Gibcus so you can just do that

I’m doing Fisher and Gibcus to Massimo and Billings cause I need some funds to get Gibcus to Massimo and hated having Fisher in my team so I’m not being as patient with him because it directly funds something else. Trading Fisher out is risky, adding a sideways trade in just to fund that is even more challenging

        5

        0
  39. Scored 2228 last week and with it being best 18 I think I’ll hold this week.
Might have to go Gibcus – Dawson next week as I’m not keen on Hore, Uwland or Dean who are the only other options.
Liked D’Ambrosios numbers but not jumping on after one game, particularly as I’d need to use three trades to get him.
Considering holding Reid and looping him until he comes back.
Gives me the chance to loop between Howes, Coffield and Dawson.
    Thoughts on that?

    1. Reid now 4-6. Doesn’t have to be Mass but probably best to take max CG at this stage.

Hore and Pink will be on the bubble soon if you don’t like Mass. Take a look at all three this weekend.

  40. I need to trade Gibcus to Massimo but I am $5k short! wahhh 🙁

I need to find some extra $$, narrowed down to 2 options:

    TU: Sanders -> Cadman
    or
    TD: Dawson -> Serong

FWIW, I know it’s not ideal to trade out a potential cash cow (Sanders) but I also have all the other popular ones; Reid, McK, Roberst, Windsor, Wilson, Sexton..etc

    OUT: Z Reid, J Clark, Z Fisher

The first 2 IN’s have only played 1, should I wait? Look at just Berry?

    1. Look at who you want in next week too and see if there’s a choke point with your trades. If you can still justify it, then by all means trade. But we’ve got Carroll, McKercher, Bonner and Lyons on the bubble next week as just a small shortlist.

You can’t have all the cash cows, you need to prioritize. While all 3 trades make some sense, it’s off a very small sample, for a round where only best 18 counts.

Reid to d’Ambrosio I totally get, given Reid’s injury history and current issue.

To do that swap you need to get cash, so Fisher going makes sense, assuming you have Howes already.

But I wouldn’t be rushing to get Fyfe in on the back of one game, given his injury history. Cool if you started with him, but he’s not really a must have, nor is Billings either. Most of us have traded Fyfe in after a couple of games only to see him need to be traded out due to injury.

I have some serious doubts about doing the Berry trade myself, given he’s got a bye next week.

  43. Trying to find a way to get T Berry or Windsor on the bubble into my side, and looking for some scoring improvement after a low R1. Decided on Flanders over Heeney as prefer his DPP and the uncertainty of trusting Heeney once Mills & Adams return.

OUT – Lazzaro, Fisher & Gibcus

    TU : IN – Flanders, T Berry & D’Ambrosia, or
TD: IN – Flanders, Windsor & Hore

Comment if I should go Heeney instead of Flanders please.

  44. Harmes > Billings an easy trade

all pre-season i was going two of either Harmes, Fyfe, Billings or Jordon. Locked Jordon in and last minute changed Fyfe to Harmes.

Fyfe can wait until next week. Billings this week.

i just saw Harmes got a 1 week holiday, makes the trade even easier.

  45. Gibcus -> d’ambrosio
    N Martin – > Serong
    33k itb

Will have daicos and young in the backline (I think he’ll bounce back if he isn’t moved to the defence permanently)

Bont, serong, green and rowell in mid

Tingles and grundy in ruck. Will give grundy another go, if he doesn’t work might loop in Jackson and target a forward till after gawns bye.

Jackson, heeney, Flanders and fyfe in the forward line.

Only targets in missing are billings but with his poor r0 score his price increase might be minor so could still get him next week.

    1. Next week if Grundy and wines suck it up again, I was thinking to loop jacko into the ruck, and can downgrade Grundy to billings if he plays well and upgrade wines into sheezel by moving daicos into mid. Then upgrade Jackson into gawn when Darcy is back.

      Out Grundy, wines
      In Billings, sheezel

      4
    2. Billings goes up $25k with a 60. Think I’d be looking at a way to get him in this week and reevaluate the Martin to Serong trade next week before either of those two change price

      1

      0
      1. Yeah I’m seriously considering that. I think I wanted some better scores after a Reid, gibcus, Martin, Grundy and young shocker. But you’re probably right.

        1

        0
        1. Yeah, the 170 is already gone. Think just Gibcus to Mass is a fine move for the week but if you’ve got any underperformers that you want to turn into Billings, this week will be cheaper. Still think I’d want another week to look at Martin, Wines, Grundy and Young before getting rid of any of them

          0

          0
          1. Yeah it might be less clean and will probably rely on a few of Grundy, wines and young under performing but I should be able to get serong and sheezel if they struggle. Counting on at least a decent score from Grundy, so he makes some money, but a good score from gawn to justify a downgrade with the plan to sideways Jackson when he’s of no more use. Pretty happy with my rookies, so aim is to really just fill out the must have premos, and I think serong and sheezel gets me there more or less, with gawn after the first bye.

  46. Worth ‘sideways’ trading a premo to bank $$ in order to bring in Massimo & Heeney?

    1
    1. Gives me enough cash for Young and Clark to Sheezel and McKercher on the bubble next week if Young fails.

If not, it still gives me 115k cash for Clark to McKercher, or just Clark to Carroll and save the cash.

      4

      0
    2. T/U Skip Berry due to his R3 bye and just go McKercher this week, go Carroll and Sheezel next week

T/D Berry this week, McKercher and Sheezel next week, miss Carroll (or trade boost for any underperforming/injured fwd or mid)

      5

      3
  48. Should I readjust my structure somewhat after the last round by considering the following?

    Out; Martin, Fisher
    In; Jordon, Flanders

My thinking is that I’m more convinced that Flanders ends up being a Top 6 Forward than I am that Martin ends up being a Top 6 Defender. Already have Heeney & Jackson. Also generates about 100k in cash, (plus whatever Jordon makes until he’s traded as a stepping stone to a Forward premo) which will assist in getting from Gibcus to DÁmbrosio next week when DÁmbrosio is on the bubble. Also if worse comes to worse Fisher can always come back in if he significantly turns it around before the 50 is out of his price cycle.

Will then look to potentially Clark and Mannagh to Carroll and Sharp when the latter two are on their respective bubbles.

    Thoughts?

    TIA .

  49. Hey guys going to throw a scenario out there would appreciate the thoughts.

Thinking the following trades this week:

    Fisher > Heeney
    Gibcus > Massimo

The only way in which I can afford both Heeney and Massimo is by banking an extra 50k or so with a 3rd trade. I don’t love the idea of ‘sideways’ trading a premium, however I feel in this case it might be my only solution.

Bont > Serong banks me over 100k

Which not only allows me to get the other 2 players in, it also allows me to bring in Dempsey next week from the cats for someone like buku.

Yes I know trading out Bont is far from ideal, however I truely believe serong will be a top 8 mid and was hot on him all pre season. This also improves the overall look of my team and the obvious plan would be to pick up Bont soon enough when he hopefully falls under 700k.

The only other way I can net the funds from downgrading a player is chopping someone like Williams or Sanders which I think could end up disastrous as they could make some serious cash which I don’t want to miss.

    Much appreciated!

    1

    7
    1. Massimo really can wait an extra week. Maybe just do Fisher to Heeney this week seeing as heeney’s price will change and do Gibcus to a rookie you can afford. Howes if you don’t have him is a bit of a must have but Charlie Dean and Bodhi Uwland (who Dimma seems super happy with) are both on the bubble too and would be fine rookies to have.

If Massimo tons up again, sideways trading Williams to him next week is pretty well justified or if Sanders doesn’t score well again, you can trade him for Massimo then. Waiting a week to trade for Massimo just helps you make the decision with more information about how much of a must have he is and what players in your team are more expendable

      1

      0
      1. The issue with waiting a week is that I may need trades next week to bring in players such as Hore & Dempsey. I will need to downgrade next week somewhere if that’s the case too in order to free up funds. I will also still need to bring in Massimo if he goes well again.

Williams and Sanders could prove to be disastrous to trade this early as I believe they will make a lot of cash. Once they are out they are gone, where as I can always look at getting Bont back later in the year. This 100k he frees up could prove more vital at this stage in order to get my team in the best shape.

  50. OUT: Fisher, Gibcus, Martin
    IN: Heeney, Massimo, Billings

To do this, need to move a forward into the mids with the plan on moving them back once sufficient cash has been generated or another mid becomes available. Pending what happens next week, I will have ZReid to trade, and potentially Clark as rookie corrections. Currently looking at Hore and Carrol next week.

        1. I had thought that, I’m a bombers supporter and it’s rare that Martin kicks that poorly, he’s usually an elite kick. I also have Newcombe and wondering whether I trade him instead of Martin

          1

          0
          1. Martin to Heeney doesn’t impact the other trades so I think it comes down to who is more likely to be a top 6 in each line. I think that Heeney is more likely to be a top 6 forward than Martin is a top 6 defender. Heeney does come with risk, but the forward line is looking relatively thin outside of Jackson, Flanders and Heeney I think.

  54. After my worst R1 score in many years, I need to take action. I know its best 18 this week, but feel like I need to make trades this week with the aim of improving my team before I get left behind too many others. Looking at 2 options :

    OPTION 1
OUT – Fisher, Lazzaro & Gibcus
IN – Flanders, Berry & D’Ambrosia (should have 22 players, for best 18)
    OR
    OPTION 2
    OUT – Fisher, Lazzaro & N Martin
IN – Flanders, Berry & Heeney (should leave me 21 players but not too concerned as the extra “premo” should make up the shortfall).

With option 2, I realized that even though I have Reid & Gibcus, they aren’t playing so won’t be dropping in price, nor will D’Ambrosia or Hore be going up in price this week – so fixing defender issues can be a “next week” problem.

    0

    3
  55. I’ve started trying to run my own price predictions which seem to be close to the mark (about $5k off others on Twitter).

Thought I’d share where I’m seeing some of the bubble boys:

    Billings – Predicted AVG 70
    Next game = $30k
    3 games = $103k
    5 games = $122k

    T.Berry – Predicted AVG 55
    Next = $67k
    3 games = $119k
    5 games = $129k

Hogan – Predicated AVG 90 (100+ this week, followed by 85 there after)
    Next = $77k
    3 games = $112k
    5 games = $83k

I’ll probably look to correct my idiotic Fyfe to Mead move by jumping on Billings, and hoping for some more spike scores

As for future moves, I have Fisher, Martin, Young & Lazzaro on notice (as well as Gibcus to deal with)

Hope this helps some trade ideas for a rough guide on potential price movements

Trade Dixon for Lyons and Budarick? Mids are quite scarce in a 12 team – 7 mid slots

    Many thanks.

    1. TU, sounds good for you. I have no read on Budarick, but if you are struggling for some midfield depth it’s a pretty good trade. Surely Dixon doesn’t maintain this form ala Tex last year? Maybe try upgrade Budarick into someone a little more relevant first, see if they are serious about the deal or are just trying to buy low.

Gibcus to Ambrossio seems to be flavour of the week but as its only his 2nd game you could wait till rd3 before price increases..

    Thanks

    1. FWIW I’m trading Emma, he may very well the sub risk if he holds.. as well as simpkin back this week to from reports so those CBAs will decrease you’d imagine. To Berry or Dempsey for me or not much more to go up to Billings who will net you pts and cash.

  78. Worried a boost this week is unnecessary.
    Current tradees are:
    Gibcus -> D’Ambrosio
    Harmes -> Billings
    Hewett/Fisher -> Fyfe

    thoughts?

  79. I’m still at odds on what I should do trade wise. Because I need to get rid of Gibcus and Zach Reid. I want to get D’Ambrossio, but don’t have the spare cash.

I was thinking Kallan Dawson, but looking at his history, I’m not sure at all that his JS is good enough.

Marty Hore would be the obvious choice for one of the INs, but the other one I don’t know of anyone who’s in.

And I won’t be able to have time to look at the teams for the rest of the weekend when they first get released tonight, because I have a tutorial class and won’t get out until after tonight’s game starts to sort it out.

The only other option I can possibly think of is doing a sideways trade (like Stewart to either Houston or Sinclair), and then using the money to get D’Ambrossio and Hore for Reid and Gibcus

TU – Gibcus and Reid > Kallan Dawson and Hore
TD – Stewart, Gibcus and Reid > Houston/Sinclair, D’Ambrossio and Hore

  81. Still not locked this trade in, but assessing options for max cash gen. If you were to trade one of these rookies out, which would it be?

    TU: Clark
    TD: Lazzaro

  82. Was only going one trade but I really want Gawn back into that Ruck line (ok most of you guys were right and I should of started Gawn!). However to do that I have to cut a premo, possibly Young.

Thinking Young to Massimo, move Jackson Fwd and Fish to Gawn. May also do Campbell to T.Berry if Campbell isn’t named
