  1. Trading out either English or Grundy. Final two games English comes up against Nth (Xerri) and Giants (Briggs), Grundy come up against Essendon (Draper) and Adelaide (O’Brien).

    TU: Dump English
    TD: Dump Grundy

    1. Had the e on Curnow today and was set on bringing in pou before he was a let out. Now im stuck with Rory Lobb…

Next week is either pou or tom powell for Curnow. Powells dpp probably makes him better option

        1. Pat

CT reports that Sheezel is in some doubt which probably helps Powell and Wardlaw (if he comes back)
          Standby on updates

      1. Ditto. Had no other choice but to go with Mitch Owens in the end. Put in a respectable 91 and got me over the line in my final.

    2. I’m going to Peatling, he’s been flying under the radar, even if he doesn’t get around it he’s a tackling machine, currently has the third highest 3 round average at 109.7

  2. 3 trades left.
Is Xerri a must have? Can downgrade Dowling to generate cash to turn Grundy into Xerri. Is this worth it or has Xerri been blessed with match ups throughout the last month?
Leaves one trade and 90k left to hold for grand final week.

    1. @ SCTimmy – am pondering the same thing, and think it is worth it

Grundy has averaged 95 over the last 8 weeks

Xerri has averaged 133 over the last 8 weeks

Against his next 2 opponents, Xerri has scored 141 versus the WB & has scored 144 versus Hawthorn this year

So this feels like a minimum 20+ point “upgrade” for the next couple of weeks – which hopefully gets us “over the line” 🙂

  3. 2 trades left, $265k itb, in 2 prelims.

TU: Walsh > Neale, Grundy > Xerri, maximises my chances of winning but leaves me with no trades for a GF

TD: Grundy > Xerri only. 1 trade for next week to go Walsh > Neale, but I am worried about Neale destroying Collingwood next week and hurting me.

  4. 2 trades left and only 20k cash itb.

TU: 2 trades to turn one of either english/grundy to gawn
TD: trade jackson out for anyone (already have the other top 5 avg fwds)
    Comment: Hold trades for final

  5. Decided not to trade Oliver this week as oppt had a donut, and I could loop Clarry with Humphries….lost to oppt in one cash league by English late goal, after putting Clarry on field.

I also have Jackson, but so does oppt but he has him fwd, I have in ruck. Oppt doesn’t have Xerri..yet.

So, the choice is, using final two trades,

T/U Jackson to Xerri and keep Oliver/Humphries loop…means Freo Draper to Essendon Roberts to get $
T/D Oliver to Treloar using Humphries or Draper as final trade. Treloar would be a huge pod.

      1. @ Wighty – tricky one, hence the even number of votes!!

Both Oliver & Jackson are scoring ordinary

Personally, I think Treloar will get tagged by Phillips (North) this week as he did a good job on Treloar earlier this year, and then Treloar will probably get tagged by Bedford from GWS in round 24 (which is the SC Grand Final)

Unless those guys go to Bont – but I think they are both too small to tag the Bont successfully

Hence I voted up – that you upgrade Jackson to Xerri (rather than chase Treloar)

        Good luck !!

        1. Thanks mate….with Sheezel now unlikely, its looking simpler…Sheezel to Houston/Martin, and Oliver to Merrett. All potential oppts have Jackson and Sheezel, si its actually looking brighter for me.

  6. Help me use my last two trades. $309K ITB, so really no restrictions on upgrades.

D: Sheezel, Clark, N.Daicos, Ryan, Martin, Holmes (B.Campbell, Reid)
M: Bontempelli, Neale, Davies-Uniacke, Steele, Green, Gulden, Rozee (Humphries, Trew, Rawlinson)
    R: Marshall, Grundy (Livingstone)
F: Flanders, Heeney, Caldwell, Zorko, Rayner, Jackson (Dowling, Brown)

Probably want to hang on to Jackson for ruck coverage.

My thinking is Daicos to Sinclair and Steele to Merrett, but Grundy to Xerri is also on the cards (wish I’d held Xerri after starting him).

  7. Hi SuperCoaches,

Into the prelim and playing for League, with 3 x trades left.
    So, what would you do?

TU 1 trade only – McCluggage to Rayner (leaves 2 trades for GF IF I make it)
TD 2 trades – McCluggage & Dowling to Treloar & Trew/Curtin (but only 1 trade left)

    Thoughts appreciated… thanks!

  8. H. Garcia + Curnow to $102k mid/fwd + Rankine

Leaves me with 1 trade left for the GF should I make it & Short, Humphries, Jackson as playing bench cover.

    TU: Do it
    TD: Nah

  9. Two trades left. I have $100k in the bank and am thinking of one upgrade and keeping one for next week.

TU: Rivers to Clark or similar
TD: Jackson to a Hogan/Keays type

  10. Have limited budget but need to trade out curnow, is peatling a good shout? Been averaging 110 the last 3 rounds

    TU – Do it
TD – It’s a trap, get someone else

  11. This may change pending whether Sheezel is out, but current plan is Grundy and Dowling to Xerri and rookie (Dewar maybe). Leaves me with 1 trade if I make my league GF with about $80k itb.
If Sheezel is out then the plan will be Grundy and Sheezel to Xerri and McGovern.

  12. Last trade:
T/U: get a gun mid (can afford Laird, serong, Dunkley, rowell) as M9 to loop.
T/D: straight swap Grundy to Xerri.

Current bench cover is Humphries and Holmes swinging between back and mid, then just McNeill fwd. That’s why I’m leaning towards a strong M9… But of course they could sit on the bench and never get used
    ???
    Cheers

  13. 3 trades left. Dowling to
    TU: Rankine
    TD: Powell (+130k)
Leaving me with 2 trades and either $40k or $170k for GF if I make it

    11

  14. I have both English and Sheezel but thankfully still have 2 trades left, only problem is i only have 20k cash.

TU: Xerri and 500k (max) defender. Maybe Holmes or Dale?
TD: Gawn and McGovern (or any defender other than whitfield)

    2

    13
  15. I am replacing Grundy with Marshall, leaving around $535k for a Sheezel replacement.
    T/U Ryan
    T/D Sicily
Both have ok runs, but I think Sicily’s looks better over both remaining weeks?

  16. I’ve 1 single trade left – and now English, Cheezel and Mackay are out.
I will have to cover Cheezel with bench. (Evans, Port)
If Richards actually plays for the Pies, he will have to cover Mackay.
So, looks like English to :

    T/U : Xerri
    T/D : Grundy

  17. 0 trades left and have Curnow, sheezel and English.

no bench and Fisher sat there rotting

  18. Replacement for Sheez and English, money no issue

    TU: Gawn and Whitfield

    TD: Marshall and Sinclair

    Comment another combo

  19. I have Sheezel, curnow, and English with NO cover. Unavoidable donut this week barring the return of bench fodder. Do I:

TU: trade English and Sheezel for Xerri and Warner/Holmes?
TD: trade English and curnow for Briggs and Kennedy, and hope that Sheezel returns next week.

    Cheers

  20. I have 1 trade left and am wearing a zero due to sheezel and english out, and lack of bench cover (and let’s be honest; a season of horrible, horrible decisions).

TU: Sheezel to any DEF (most likely Sinclair)
    TD: English to Xerri

  21. Whos most likely to play next week? 1 trade left so the one least likely to return goes

    Tu: English
    Td: Sheezel

    1

    8
  22. Curnow, Oliver, Sheezel, English all out and I have 1 trade left with only Trew as bench cover. I want to say supercoach 2024 has been fun, but I’d be lying.

  23. 2 trades left, Going for ranking .

TU: Sheez > Newman, English > Xerri

TD: Sheez > Sinclair, English > Marshall

    Thanks

  24. Last two trades:
TU – Sheezel & Grundy > Sicily and Marshall (this leaves Holmes as a floating def/mid loop)

TD – Sheezel & Grundy > Rowell and Xerri (Rowell would be M9 and looped in for Walsh if he went 110+, Holmes would be on the field in def)

I guess the question is does Sicily and Marshall (TU) outscore Holmes and Xerri (TD)

    Cheers!

  25. English and Curnow have to go….

    T/D Nankervis and Rankine

  26. 1 trade left. Trading with English. Limited cash in the bank.

    TU: English to Witts
TD: English to Hogan (Jackson moves to R2)

    Thanks!

  27. Got Oliver, English and Sheezel all out. 2 trades and $48k left

Humphries or Trew cover for Oliver and Draper for Sheezel.
Obviously need a ruck to replace English. Thinking of holding Sheezel.

    Best option??

TU English to Briggs, Oliver to Kennedy
TU English to Xerri, Oliver to Cooper Lord or Binns

Or considering just English to Briggs and save a trade if I get through. Hmmmm

  28. Last minute trades.

    TU: Sheezel/English to Holmes/Xerri.
Gives me a loop option in Holmes and hoping for Curnow to return next week to avoid a red dot.
    TD: shoenmaker/curnow to 117k dpp/Rayner
Takes away the loop option but leaves me hoping for Sheezel and English to return next week instead of Curnow.

A donut this week is unavoidable.

    Cheers!
