      1. With 4 scores of 50 in his last 6 games his scoring worse than majority of rookies is the issue!

      2. most of the rookies that everyone has left (should have) and on field are actually outscoring Butters … I’m looking at him as a rookie that has made heaps of cash and is an upgrade – Martin, Daicos, Hayes, Preuss even NOD and definitely McCartin and SDK are all worth holding over Butters … he has no heart and plays like a petulant child when not being allowed to play on ball …

        17

  1. Think I’m done with Bowey. His purpose seems to have been served.

Will be either him or Durdin, to get my last forward rookie off field

    1. Does have the eagles this week, whether that means he’ll see no ball at all or push up and take intercept possies when eagles are kicking outta their back 50.. could go either way haha

  2. I know the name of the game rn is to race to full premo, but I’m almost tempted to pause and do some sideways-ing.

ROB -> Darcy is very appealing.

    Had ROB pencilled is as a serviceable 105-110 ruck but a 60 v a non-ruck is a problem.

Still need 2x DEFs and a 1x FWD for full premo but Darcy going to put away ROB by a huge amount – same with English over Butters tbh.

Might get a poll up on people’s general thoughts on sideways-ing at this stage of the season.

    19

    1. That is not a sideways trade, that is definetly a upgrade.

Take it from another owner of ROB.

      Good luck GD.

      12

      0
    2. Absolutely with you there GD.

Also a ROB owner, along with with about half a dozen other so called premiums who I thought would be serviceable or better.
Well, I’m languishing with my worst ever start to a season, ranked 50K and going nowhere.

And it’s not the rookies/cash cows that are at fault; they’ve all been good to brilliant.
Comes a time when you just have to acknowledge you made a bad call (or 7) and ditch them.

As CT rightly points out, it’s an upgrade, not sideways.

      7

      1. Lol, look at us SLOB owners. Need a support group.

Yeah, thinking he goes to Darcy. Clear net gain on points.

    3. yep – while you’ve got good cows like Martin, Daicos, now Hayes and even possibly Preuss and to lesser extents JHF and NOD (and maybe likely one incoming in Clark) … then you can actually “switch your thinking” and think of the likes of Butters and Gresham as “cows” who have made great cash to an upgrade or downgrade and upgrade etc …

Butters has, for me at least, been meh all year … his attitude on field, unless playing the role he apparently want to play (ie on ball) seems to be one of not giving a s — … he’s definitely got to go I reckon.

Gresham and even more recently Sinclair looks to have had their roles change … so they are potentially of concern …

And as for ROB – I have no idea what went wrong with him … perhaps he doesn’t have a serviceable midfield to tap to?

Definitely some meaningful polls in there … and dare I say it also something for the good Father to get his teeth (and pumpkin seeds!) into …

  3. G’day lads, gonna ask for a general consensus on what the moves need to be looking like going forward.

    DEF –
WITHERDEN, CRISP, HEWETT, SHORT, DAICOS, MCCARTIN (HINGE, WILMOT)

    MID –
STEELE, MACRAE, NEALE, OLIVER, MILLER, TRAC, CRIPPS, JHF (ODRISCOLL, STEPHENS, MCCOMB)

    RUCK –
    PREUSS, HAYES (DIXON)

    FWD –
DUNKLEY, HEENEY, BRODIE, BUTTERS, COGS, MARTIN (SDK, MACDONALD)

My general thoughts are that obviously my ruckline is very weak but they’re scoring alright for the time being. I believe that it is time to move odriscoll, JHF and Hinge.

Will probably look to come closer to completing my backline and wait to see who drops to finish my midfield. Will also see what Gawn/Darcy/English come down to and work from there

    0

    0
    1. 1) O’Driscoll to Rioli (Rich)

      2) JHF to Brayshaw (Freo)

Obviously agree with your ruck line, but still serviceable while fattening up.

      5

      3
    2. If you’re okay with running that ruck set up for a bit longer then you can go:

      NOD -> Hamilton
      Stephens -> Rioli Jr

      And then either:

Hinge -> 550k DEF premo (Cumming, Dale, Zorko, Dawson)

      OR

JHF -> 590k MID premo (Keays, Brayshaw)

Calculations made with no cash ITB.

      6

  4. Double downgrade to Cooper Hamilton and Jack Carroll this week I reckon. Clark missing was a nice bonus, he can wait another week. Got a few candidates to make way – Bowey, Gibcus, Daicos, Dylan Stephens (will we ever see him again…?) or Hugh Dixon (how the hell do you get dropped for a state league fill-in?!).

DEF: Short, Crisp, Hewett, Bowey, Chapman, McCartin (De Koning, Gibcus)
MID: Macrae, Oliver, Cripps, Neale, Miller, Brayshaw, Keays, Nic Martin (Daicos, Stephens, McComb)
    RUC: Witts, Preuss (Hayes)
FWD: Dunkley, Heeney, Moore, Brodie, Butters Cogs (Dixon, Rosas)

Leaning towards Dixon for Hamilton to open up the DPP with Martin, and maybe Stephens for Carroll to maximise the number of scoring players on the bench – subject to breakevens, in case someone needs to go to avoid losing money.

    5

    0
    1. Actually, Rioli looks the better downgrade than Hamilton. Make $20k less bank, but hopefully better job security and scoring.

      11

      0
  5. I was all set and excited to turn Daicos and Rosas into Macrae and best cheap Mid rookie but man Gresham and Butters are killing me, The age old problem of what I want (Macrae) verses what I need (2 forward keepers who can average 90 ) and not stink it up when they don’t

    8

    0
    1. He’s a viable option until Grundy gets back but that’s still 10ish weeks where you’ll have a 100ish averaging forward for less than 400k. Just keep a trade in the bank for then

      9

      0
    2. Was thinking the same thing mate. Goldstein in similar position, he also has a negative break even. Both due to grundy and Xerri going down. With grundy being gone for another 10 or so weeks and Xerri probably 2 away I would suggest Cameron could be a great grab considering we actually need more time to decide who is gone be F4-6. With butters and cogs not looking like keepers. Sorry for the rant aha

      11

  6. TU: Dixon, stephens – D Cameron, hamilton/carroll

    TD: Dixon, O’dris – Dawson, hamilton/carroll

    7

    15
  7. Probably going to double down and grab both this week but if you could only pick one

    TU: Hamilton
    TD Rioli

    12

  8. ok so my last 3 onfield rookies are daicos, gibcus and martin.

Do i trade daicos and gibcus to get in doch?
this will mean i’ll have to field either mccartin or sdk for 1-2 weeks

    19

    1
  9. I’m keeping one of these 3 so who would you hold onto

    TU: Gibcus
    TD: NOD

    Comment: JHF

    26

    6
    1. I’d suggest whichever one services your bye structure best is the one you should keep. All scoring around the same anyway. JHF with the R14 bye would be my choice

      2

      0
      1. Yeah, after I put this up I was revising my byes and think JHF will stay just cause the first two rounds I’m only just scraping through with 18 each week

  10. Not sure who needs to hear this, but Whitfield has had his first price rise for the year.

    31

  11. Jake Lloyd at $488k? I know his average points are down but 116 in a losing side. Good time to get on if don’t have him already.

    12

    13
  12. This week;
    O’driscoll > Rioli (via dpp)
    Ward > Clark

    This allows me to do the following next week;
    Gibcus > Defensive rookie (hopefully)
MacDonald > Steele (will be roughly 610k!!)

Feel as though I will sacrifice upgrading this week in order to be prepared for a cherry rope priced Steele next week.
    Thoughts appreciated!!

  13. Have to bring in a defensive rookie this week. does anyone know one that is close to debuting or something?

    0

    0
    1. no real options honestly. Best bet would be Zach Reid or trying to make something happen through DPP

      1

      0
    2. There’s Thompson (123k DEF) from the Suns.

Not that good of a player and won’t want him anywhere near your field but he should stick around. Suns backline looked the most balanced it has in years; ample mix of accountability, dash and height.

      4

      3
      1. yeah think i’ll go with thompson. history suggests that he’ll average around 50 ( maybe in the 40s this season) if he can stay in the team, which i’m happy with considering i really just want him for cover in the byes

        4

        2
  14. Butters has to go. The guy has had scores of 58, 57, 57, and 52 in his last 6. I have multiple rookies putting up better numbers. Rosas is going to join him I think.

Bringing in Clarry and Greg Clark for Butters and Rosas via Brodie and Martin DPP

T/U – Good trades, go for it
    T/D – Get rookies off.

is my onfield rookies will be Clark, Daicos, McCartin, Martin and De Koning, who are all going well, with mccartin coming of a ninety, martin and daicos obviously good, de koning with his two best games yet, and clark looks very good

    32

    8
  15. Fck Butters off 4 scores of 50 in his last 6 he’s not a premo and never had a history of premo scoring, I think at worst Greg Clark can match him for remainder of season.

    Option 1 = T/U:
    Bowey > Petracca
    Butters > Brayshaw (Freo)
    JHF > Clark

    Option 2 = T/D:
    Bowey > Dawson
Butters > Petracca / Brayshaw (Freo)
    NOD > Clark

    12

    1. If it’s this week, Dawson for sure. Stewart will be primed in a couple of weeks.

If it’s for you last defender spot – Stewart. Hope this helps

      16

      0
    1. I was going to ask the same question but Docherty leaves me with only 17 in round 12 while Dawson gets me 18 so if people think he’s the better buy anyway then I’ll stick with him

      3

  16. Feel like I’ll use my last trade boost. I want to get etither Gawn/Darcy this week but I have other plans. S Hayes can continue at R2 for another week.

So my current likely trade plans are:
    NOD to SICILY
    BERRY to RIOLI JR
    BUTTERS to HEENEY

Other current plans include ROWELL (M8) to TOUK but he is currently solid and still expected to increase in price next week from an achievable breakeven.

    Any suggestions?

  17. Am I stupid for considering this

Trading 3 rookies for 3 rookies and building my bank

    Out – Ward – McDonald & Stephens
    In – Clark – Rioli – Hamilton

Will give me 500k bank to really push for upgrades over next 2-4 rounds

    Thoughts ?

    22

    6
    1. I’d suggest that it may be better to just hold off on bringing in Clark. He’s still only played one game, so he’s not gonna increase in price. Save that Boost for later in the season in case of emergency. Either hold Stephens as a loophole, or in case he gets another game – or hold one of MacDonald or Ward, neither have astronomical breakevens and could potentially make a cheeky $10-20k.

      20

      1
  18. T/U – JHF to Carrol, Naish to Rioli, Dixon to Gawn

T/D – Keep Running with Preuss + Hayes combo and either upgrade Naish to a premo MID/FWD

    9

    4
  19. Thinking of going:

Butters, Berry > Rioli JR, Brayshaw (freo) via Parker DPP. Leaves 136k ITB.

Tossed up Boak, Green and Mills. Boak doesnt work well with my bye, green either (and lowkey think he may falter later in the season) and Mills could be poachable in a few weeks.

Open to any other suggestions of course!

  20. Thoughts on Dusty in the FWD at $503K
    Thinking Butters/Xerri to Dusty

    TU: Worth a punt
    TD: Not yet

    32
  21. After much yelling, I’ve calmed down a bit and decided to give Butters one. more. chance. He plays North this week and his price has fallen so far that his BE is somewhat manageable. It’s only Rd 9, got to stay the course!

    Doubling down:
    Dixon and McDonald OUT
    Rioli Jnr and Carroll IN

    17

    1. I’m in the same boat Chillo,

Same ins, however Hinge and NOD out for me.

Holding Butters this week but he’s on thin ice

      6

      1
  22. Mitch Duncan back into form and worth a punt at a discounted price? At worst a decent F5-6 come the end of the year?

    7

    1. I’m considering sideways-ing Butters to him. Feel I’ll be disappointed far less with Duncan…

  23. Anybody watch the Eagles game and know much about Florenca? Will he be added to the list, how did he look and what did he look like longer term.
Or is he just a one game player who happened to blue moon and never seen again.

    0

    4
    1. Jake Florenca is an Eagle’s WAFL Covid Contingency Listed player.

He only gets a game when the team is Covid compromised so very poor job security.

Showed a bit with 19 possessions in his debut match.

  25. What is the role change that I keep hearing about for Lloyd?
Is he no longer taking kick ins?
    Is he no longer seagulling?

    Thanks coaches

    5

    0
    1. Lloyd took 9 kick ins and played on all 9.

The talk is about Sydney change of game plan not Lloyd’s role. “They” say he doesn’t fit this new style.

I am not convinced by this analysis and still believe he is an relevant defender.
At $488k he is a fallen premium. He may not return to his outstanding high scores but as a D5 or D6 makes him useful.

  26. Got 23 trades left after already doing NOD down too rioli. Is it worth it to go butters to petracca this week cause he works better with my byes or hold the trade and 208k for next week
    TU: Pull the trigger
TD: Hold the trade and the money

  27. JHF, L. Jackson > M. Rioli, Parish

    My side with these trades:

DEF: Sicily, Crisp, Short, Hewett, Dawson, P. McCartin (O’Driscoll, De Koning)

MID: Neale, Steele, Macrae, Parish, Miller, Cripps, N. Daicos, M. Rioli (Ward, D. Stephens, McComb)

    RUCK: Gawn, Preuss (S. Hayes)

FWD: Dunkley, Heeney, Brodie, Coniglio Butters, N. Martin (H. Dixon, MacDonald)

    20 trades left, any suggestions?

  28. Is it worth going to Buku early if it means avoiding a price decrease from Bowey? Just thought with Weightman and Vandermeer injury if his J/S would be good as I can’t afford a premo defender just yet

    T/U yes
    T/D no

    19
  29. I have a ruck problem I think, I have R1 ROB, R2 Witts and R3 Preuss. Should I trade one out now or hold until after byes, a lot of $$ sitting on the bench.
T/U Trade one of them for Hayes at R3
T/D Hold until after byes and get a rookie then

    6

    1
    1. ROB appears the weakest link.

Wasting Preuss’s centuries sitting on the bench.

Use the cash from ROB to strengthen another line.

      All the best.

MID: Neale, Steele, macrae, Miller, Brayshaw, Daicos, MacDonald, McComb, (owens, Clark, long)
    Ruck, gawn, preuss (Hayes)

    1. Forwards and rucks fine, need to work on getting rookies out of defence & mainly your mids.
I’ve used a boost this week and bought in Rioli & Clark(know I should wait a week) and upgraded ruck to Witts. I’d suggest using trades to fix the mids- lots of choices this week- pity most are first week of buys!

    2. Oh no, it finally happened, there’s another one of me. I made a mistake when choosing my site moniker I see.

Reckon that midfield needs a bolster but also wondering who your other defender is cause there aren’t enough listed there. Probably Daicos, MacDonald and Dixon out to Hamilton, Rioli and really take your pick out of Cripps, Oliver, Parish, Laird, Boak, Keays, Green and Merrett. Oliver is probably best for byes but go for who you like.

  31. Been quite busy so only had a quick look. What do we think lads.

TU) Gibcus & JHF -> Jordy Dawson & Rioli Jr

(Daicos D7 as cover, McComb looped with Rioli Jr on-field. – 20 trades & 2 boosts)

Td) Gibcus, MacDonald & JHF -> Rory Thompson, Andy Brayshaw & Rioli Jr

    (Daicos on-field – 19 trades & 1 boost left)

    TU: Ridley to Dawson
    TD Butters to Darcy Cameron

    29
    1. Butters to Darcy Cameron WTF??

Trading one problem for a new problem once Grundy returns.. Will ultimately cost you another trade when you have to trade Cameron on Grundy return..

I wouldn’t be surprised if Butters outscores Cameron for the rest of the season..

  33. 22 trades left: Thinking of going
Hinge > Darcy Cameron via DPP
    NOD > Rioli jnr

    TU: Good trade
    TD: Bad trade

    1. Reckon you’d be happy to have him in the fwd line atm, after all he is the 3rd ranked Fwd in the league (averaging 102, known high ceiling also) – but if you didn’t have him then may not be the biggest loss.
The way i see it atm is that a lot of the high ranking forwards are dropping below 100 pretty consistently, so you might as well have one with a big ceiling.

      5

  34. If Hewitt misses again, thats two of the next four given his r12 bye. I’m fortunate to have both SDK and P McCartin on my def bench, and with Hewitt playing late this week, can loop and/or wait trill Hewitt’s late game to trade him to a number of options that improve my bye structure.

So, its not really a t/u or t/d at this point, just like to hear some thoughts.

  35. Butters, McCartin, Dixon > Cumming, Parker, Rioli

I’m sold on Cumming so I’m bringing him this week regardless but I’m wondering if you guys think it’s worth using my boost, I’ll have two boosts left and 23 trades with Rioli being the only true rookie on the field (Brodie and Daicos the others). I’m ranked 6,100 overall and I reckon these are good trades for two premos that or moderately cheap.

Sicily, Crisp, Short, Cumming, Hewett, Dawson (SDK, Uwland)

Neale, Oliver, Macrae, Miller, Cripps, T Green, Brodie, Daicos (Ward, MacDonald, McComb)

    Gawn, Preuss (S Hayes)

Dunkley, Parker, Treloar, Cogs, Nic Martin, Rioli (Curtis, Lohmann)

That will be my lineup post trades and with Hayes, Daicos, SDK, Ward and Mccomb I should be able to get Steele and Brayshaw in when they bottom out next couple of weeks.

    TU Do it
TD Go one up one down this week

    17

  36. Still think you should hold Hewett under than scenario – with such good DEF cover.

Hewett is averaging 117.3 points per game – which is pretty tough to replace.

Reckon only Docherty, Short & Stewart will end up around that sort of average.

And Carlton are looking pretty good this year – so he should continue to score well 🙂

And use Hewett to loop SDK and McCartin in the meantime – should still get at least 65 points from one of them

    18

  37. If English is available and Gawn is unavailable with his knee I am thinking trading Butters to English. Otherwise I am probably going to cop a donut with Hayes as R2 and Dixon as my R3

  38. Berry down to Clark (if he’s back)
    Butters to Oliver

Brought in Titchell which I’m really regretting now, did he get tagged on the weekend?

I can do a third trade to go Titchell to Brayshaw, but want to save trades so if I think Titchell can be a serviceable M8 I will hold

    T/U – Hold Titchell, he’ll bounce back
T/D – Get rid of him

    13

    21
  39. Trade Rosas to Rioli:
T/u – Do it, Rioli will make coin and Rosas is dead
    T/d – Not worth it

    9

    23
  40. Worried about Rioli Jnr and Carroll’s JS, thinking of downgrading to Greg Clark a week early. Getting rid of Ward and upgrading Butters.

  41. Thoughts?

Daicos/ JHF > MRioli/ Parish via SDK ddp

Went early on Clark he will be M8 sending Brodie fwd so Rioli mid bench

    Mids will be:

McCrae, Cripps, Miller, Steele, Oliver, Parish, Neale, Clark( McComb, MRioli, Hough)

    Fwds:

Dunkley, Cogs, Parker, Treloar, Brodie, Martin( McDonald, Curtis)

  42. Numerous rookies are still making money (Ward, JHF, McDonald, Dixon etc), albeit slowly & still appear to have reachable BE’s. Is it time to move some of them on now or wait until they make a bit more cash?

    11

    0
    1. All 4 of those are unlikely to make significantly more, with the slight exception of Dixon if West Coast give him a game to ruck but the other 3 would have some value to trade out to other rookies on the bubble who will make more cash from here such as Rioli or Hamilton. Carroll too, just super worried about his job security when Hewett is in the side.

    TU
    Horne Francis – clark
    O’Driscoll – Petracca

    TD
    Horne Francis – clark
    O’Driscoll – Parker

Parker does strengthen my forward line quite a bit but I do feel like Petracca is the better player

    – if I get clark he will be on my bench unless I go with Parker

So it’s also who I’d rather playing as a rookie, Hamilton or clark

    23

    7
  44. Bigger priority to bring in:

TU: Touk Miller (gives me 3 def + 6 mid premos)
TD: James Sicily (gives me 4 def + 5 mid premos)

      1. Off of what basis?

He’s been a real leader down-back for us and has matured significantly. No silly FA’s or 50m penalties (especially in the current climate of everything being a 50m….)

  45. Seeking advice. A run of injuries and shitty choices has me at:

  47. Trading out rookie deadwood this week. Stephens & Dixon to Rioli and Carroll.

Very tempted to hit the boost button as Butters is giving me the deadset sh#ts stinking up my forward line. English is my preferred upgrade. Any word on his comeback?

    1. Stephens out for me as well this week, Dixon went last week – double downgrade looks good and I’m leaning towards Rioli and Carroll as well (I don’t trust Leon Cameron to continue playing rookies).

I was thinking of boosting but I think I need to keep a couple in the back pocket for the byes / later rounds, plus Butters gets WCE and my other potential out would be Luke Jackson (with Gawn likely missing, he may score well this week).

22 trades & 3 boosts left with the following side:

MID: Neale, Steele, Macrae, Miller, Cripps, Coniglio, N. Daicos, Horne-Francis (Ward, D. Stephens, McComb)

    1. Hey, Simon.

Solid side. Not fielding any dicey rookies, nicely done.

You could do a simple one down (JHF, NOD or Daicos), one up (DEF or MID).

If you’d prefer to hang onto Daicos, you could probably boost out Stephens and Ward for Rioli and Carroll/Clark/Hamilton and then put that cash on top of McCartin or JHF.

Culling Butters also something many of us are considering.

      Good luck.

Could we please get a price prediction rise for Darcy Cameron based on him scoring 100 per week?

      1. Cameron looks good on paper, and could well be a shrewd pick (last bye, will get ruck status etc.), however one poor score at his price, and it kills his cash gen.

Take Bowey for example. Started at a lower price (so easier to make cash), had one poor score in round 4, and his cash gen stalled. Came back with two good scores to get his cash moving, followed by another poor game, and it stopped dead again. In the five weeks since his first poor game, he’s only made an extra $21k, due to random bad scores.

Cameron has a better role and higher ceiling, but his higher starting price makes it much harder to make money. May be a decent pick, but a lot needs to go right.

        9

        0
        1. Only problem with Cameron is you’re forcing yourself into a late trade.

As soon as Grundy is back, he’ll have to go.

          Great until then though.

          1. If you had the right combo of ‘must trades’ – Berry, Gresham & Dixon for example – and couldn’t get up to 2 premos, then he’s probably a decent option.

Not sure I’d base my trades around him though.

      1. Hearing on Twitter that Max went for scans purely as a precaution.

This was Gawn on Nova100 radio this morning..

Max ” I hurt myself in the second quarter, so it’s not that bad, I managed to play out the game. I did sit forward a lot, Luke Jackson did most of the ruck work in the second half, but I think I’m ok. ”

Sound like he’s right to play to me.

        12

        1
        1. Yep. Good grab, FT.

He also said he didn’t want to get the scan but the club doctors insisted lol.

  62. If English is back in this week, is he a must trade in if I’m not using him as a ruck? My rucks are Witts, Preuss & S. Hayes. I have Dixon at F8, and was going to hold him so that if I trade in English as a FWD, I can trade out Hayes at some stage (byes?) and move Dixon to R3. That opens up DPP with Dixon & English.

TU: English a good trade in, whether it be ruck or forward. Keep Dixon in case English needed as a Ruck at some stage.
TD: Look elsewhere and don’t worry about not having a DPP R/F and trade out Dixon also.

  64. Hi everyone – trying to decide between Boak, Brayshaw and Petracca – was leaning towards Boak but chat seems to suggest he’s not that popular – could I get some feedback as to which of these 3 would be best and why ? Please

    0

    0
    1. I would personally recommend Petracca over the other two, followed by Brayshaw then Boak (purely for explosiveness, and I think both him and the Dees can still improve).

Only reason I’m not making the same trade this week is I can stretch the budget to Touk.

      FYI, Petracca BE 89 priced at $559k, Boak’s BE 107 at $587k, and Brayshaw’s BE is 122 at $570k.

  67. Any love for Mitch Duncan? Played a much more SuperCoach friendly role on the weekend and scored well. $442k seems like his absolute floor price and could be a handy F6

    10

    1
    1. Harley Geelong went back to their old game style last weekend, slower & more methodical, which suited Duncan’s scoring. But you would think they would go back to how they were playing before the weekend, so I would be hesitant to risk bringing him in. A lot of forwards do have question marks though

      0

      0
        1. That’s where he plays his best footy, when he can roam around and use his skills off the half backline. The more he has ball in hand, the better.

Butters and Berry scoring low. Probably hold Butters, last chance against North. Don’t have a lock for my F6 spot, but struggling to choose a decent forward, considering 3 trades. Think I should be trading out J. Berry (maybe), J. Ward, H. Dixon, J. McEntee, M. Rosas but who goes first? Cheers.

    1. Dixon out – swing SDK/McCartin forward, Daicos down back, bring in Clark/Carroll. Also downgrade Rosas to Rioli (or Ward to the other of Clark/Carroll), then upgrade Berry

      1

      2
      1. Have no DPP in forward to swing either. Could do Dixon > S. Skinner then DPP Skinner & McCartin, Rosas > Rioli and Berry to Brayshaw?

        1

        2
    2. Hey Muzza,
Well done with the team for just your second year. Reckon the mids and forwards are probably where you should focus upgrading the next couple of weeks. Berry and Ward would net you Heeney and Hamilton or Taranto and Rioli. If you wanted to boost the midfield instead, you could boost and do Dixon out so you pick up both Rioli and Hamilton then really any midfielder you like the look of. Brayshaw, Petracca, Boak, Keays, Green, Merrett are all good choices, with the first two having the last bye which can be helpful.

As for preparing for byes, I’d always been really bad at it until using Macca’s bye planner the last two years which is an excellent tool. If you want to do it more simplistically though, just write down the list of players in your team that you think will play each work and make sure you have at least 18 each week. JHF and Daicos can be useful to hold onto till their bye as it will get you more players on the field in the first two weeks and then you can trade both out for players with round 13 byes for example but there’s definitely people on this site that are better at explaining bye tactics than I can.

    1. Hi JJ.
With those trades I reckon switch Daicos to def and bring in either Touk, Parish, Brayshaw or Tracca into your midfield. I have Touk so am going Parish this week.

Good luck with whatever you decide with your trades !

      1. I woud do Dixon to Rioli, he has better job security than Hamilton.

Then upgrade Bowey to a premium def or mid via Daicos.

If you really like Hamilton i would consider trade boosting for another downgrade, JHF, Ward, Gibcus could all go down to him. Would free up some cash and you could bring in Greg Clark and any premo you want next week.

    1. That’s a lot of cash in the bank. Think you’ve actually got enough to go straight from Gibcus to Dawson as an option. Wouldn’t worry about Gawn too much, looks like he’ll play and worst case scenario you run with Hayes who outscored him last week anyway.

With that much cash, I’d probably consider using a boost and double downgrading to Rioli and either Hamilton or Carroll (I lean Hamilton cause I’m not sure how Carroll goes with Hewett back and the dpp means he’ll be easier to hide). If you trade any 3 of the 4 you named, the double down will let you pick up anyone up to about 600k where I’d personally target Miller with that. However, you could afford any of Petracca/ Boak/ Keays/ Green/ Walsh and really should just pick your favourite out of them. A defender could work in Dawson or the highest scoring SuperCoach defender in Docherty but his bye sucks. A wild choice could even be Bontempelli who might somehow be getting fwd status before round 12 and he’s just fun to have in the team.

A lot of options there but the 2 down and 1 up to Touk would be where I’d go. I’m trading Gibcus out this week rather than a Stephens or Dixon but I definitely understand the frustration with those.

  88. Who’s a better selection for Defence? Will be my last spot before Stewart.
Current premos are Sicily, Short, Crisp, Hewett.
    Bye doesent matter

    T/U – Docherty

    T/D – Dawson

    Cheers everyone

    12
  89. Was thinking of bringing Sicily in, that almost completes my backline, but now I’m thinking a rare gem in Cummings, who to score more for the rest of the season,( note a bit worried of Sicily’s inability to see out a year?)
    TU Sicily
    TD Cummings

    15

    7
  90. Jhf > Brayshaw
    Dixon > M Rioli
    MacDonald > Hamilton

Thoughts on these? Don’t see much value left in Dixon and Cmac

    13

    0
  91. T/U – Field Hayes at R2 vs North which allows me to finish my MIDS with Brayshaw/Laird and grab a premo RUC next week.

T/D – Just get Gawn/Darcy this week and end the RUC scoring risks

    8

    5
  92. I’m 6,100 overall and not sure if I should trade Hewett this week to get a better premo than Parker in, here are my options and I’m seriously stuck. I’ve got 25 trades left so a Hewett trade isn’t the worst but I’m not sure whether it’s worth holding butters who I was going to trade before I realised Hewett was out.

TU Butters, Dixon, Mccartin > Cumming, Parker, Rioli 17k left

TD Hewett, Dixon, Mccartin > Cumming, Boak, Rioli 80k left

I’m only considering this as Port play north, Boak and Butters might go huge but I’ll be having to bring Hewett back in a week later.

    9

    4
  93. Reilly ROB Obrien seems all but dropped this week. I have Pruess R2, Sam Hayes R3.

    So..what to do?

TU: Play Hayes R2 and keep ROB at R3 until Gawn comes down, then upgrade.
TD: Trade ROB to Strnadica, take that sweet sweet 400k and go on a spending spree. (4 rook upgrades to go)

    2

    12
    1. As a fellow SLOB owner, Alex, now is the perfect time to get him to Darcy.

Any way you can make that happen?

      6

      0
      1. Darcy is so injury prone and a rollercoaster, he scares me GD.

Next few weeks include GC, Coll, Melb, Bris. Not the easiest month.

        8

        0
  94. Bowey – J Lloyd
    J Berry – M Riolli
    Butters – Goldy
Going for $450K players with a POD as not a lot of money in the bank.
Lloyd may be a keeper and Goldy set to make some money and has loop.
Would prefer this than 1 up and 2 down.

    2

    7
    1. Hold if you can, I guess. Decent on field and can still make a little more coin.

Only trade if you have to in order to avoid a donut. Gibcus -> any premo DEF a solid move anyway.

      3

      0
      1. Yep thanks GD I picked Dean as a loophole and have Ridley who doesn’t sound too positive so if he is out again it will be a donut, hands will be tied to move him on unfortunately and swing McCartin back and bring in Touk.

        2

        0
  95. Yay or nay ?

    OUT: bowey, JHF & Dixon

    IN: Dawson/dale, Rioli & Darcy

    Bank: $10k

FYI: Preuss and Hayes are currently my R1 &R2

    7

    1. TU: Dixon too Darcy this week but puts Steele on the backburner gets pts onfield getting Hayes offield.

TD: Dixon too strnadica will be able too get Steele in a week or two keep playing Hayes R2 til byes.

      0

  96. Are these 3 trades a good idea or not . Butters,JHF and Coniglio to Bont,Petracca and Hamilton T/U Leaves 20 trades and 3 boosts. Other option is JHF,Ward and Rosas to Rioli ,Petracca and Hamilton T/d. Thanks

    1

    5
    1. Definitely don’t do the first one.

Too much sideways-ing, Bont returning from injury, Petracca not Top 8 and get to full premo before touching Cogs.

      4

      0
  97. TU: Dixon too Darcy this week but puts Steele on the backburner but pts onfield getting Hayes offield.

TD: Dixon too strnadica will be able too get Steele in a week or two keep playing Hayes R2 til byes

    7

    9
  98. tu- do trades over the next few weeks and reach full premo before byes (however won’t have 18 in each bye round)

td- wait it out and reach full premo at the last bye round (fielding at least 18 in each bye round)

    5

    15
    1. Harley you will probably want both if you’re not running Witts.

Darcy is the best buy this week as he is cheaper and Max dropped a poor score last week and will most likely drop a bit of cash in the next few weeks.

      I would go Darcy.

      8

      0
  99. With news that o’drizzy is out should i trade him or trade rosas instead and use o’drizzy as a loophole. Either way im trading the other one next week to get to a premo

TU: Trade rosas with a risk of going down in cash and use O’drizzy as loophole
TD: Trade O’drizzy and hope rosas goes up this week for trading next week

    2

    11
  100. What would you do with this side this week? Have 19 trades left with 137K ITB

D: Docherty, Short, Sinclair, Crisp, Hewitt, Daicos (Dekoning, NOD)
M: Neale, Macrae, Steele, Cripps, Brayshaw, Green, Oliver, Rowell ( Berry, McComb, Owen)
    R: Preuss, Hayes (Hayes)
F: Parker, Dunkley, Cognelio, Brodie, Butters, Martin(Durdin,Curtis)

Was thinking Berry to Rioli and NOD to Dawson or Hayes to Darcy or Witts.

    1

    0
    1. go the ruck option – Darcy .Higher ceiling , cover , thus peventing a doughnut and more likely to get more pts over the Dawson option imo

      3

      0
    2. I’d go Rowell & Berry to prem & Rookie- whichever suits your byes for both, Daicos as Def 6 not bad.
Just worry about Darcy longer term and injury wise.

      4

      0
      1. Thanks. I’ve practically almost completed my team so I feel that I have enough trades currently for the rest of the season. So I don’t mind risking it with Darcy for the higher ceiling. I was thinking of trading Rowell next week to Clark and Durdin to English.

  101. Lads, am in desperate need of some Trade suggestions as I’ve lost all direction with my Team. With Xerri out, doubts on Ridley, Gawn & JHF set for a stint on the sidelines and a few “DNPs” on the Bench, I’m at a Crossroads.

    DEF:
    Sicily Docherty Lloyd
    Ridley Bowey De Konig
    (J.Boyd Uwland)

    MID:
    Neale Oliver Macrae Miller
    Green Rowell Daicos Horne-Francis
    (McComb Hough Soligo)

    RUCK:
    Gawn Witts (H.Dixon)

    FWD:
    Dunkley Brodie Coniglio
    Butters Martin Rioli
    (Xerri Durdin)

    $207,500 in the Bank
    21 Trades and 2 Boosts

Hit me with some ideas Lads, even some elaborate 3 Week 8 Trade type Plans.

    Cheers in Advance

    1. Is that Dan Rioli or Maurice Rioli in your forwards? I was going to say Xerri to M Rioli and JHF to Cripps

      2

      0
    2. Trade out Xerri…too much cash doing nothing. With DPP of SDK bring in a premo def such as Pendles, Dawson, etc.
Also could trade Bowey before he drops more cash, move Daicos back and bring in a mid rookie on the bubble (Carroll, Hamilton) or go early on Clark.

      2

      0
  102. any advice would be very much appreciated.

    25 trades (2 boosts) left, $7k itb

DEF: Short, Sicily, Crisp, Sinclair, Hewett, SDK (McCartin, Gibcus)

MID: Neale, Oliver, Macrae, Miller, Cripps, Smith, Daicos, Berry (JHF, Ward, Stephens)

    RUC: Preuss, Hayes (English)

FOR: Dunkley, Heeney, Brodie, Cogs, Butters, N Martin (Rioli, Curtis)

    What do I do?

    0

    0
    1. Go Rioli.

Clark ( coming off Covid ) can come in next week as he’s only played one game.

      9

      0
  103. So this idiot was going Zeibell to Stewart (I know Stewart bombed) but reversed and copped another price drop ‍♂️‍♂️ anyways rage trading him for sure freed up bulk cash so just wondering, 23 trades left

TU- use trade boost and get 2 cheapies out and Zeibell to Hewett for example

TD save the boost and just zeibell and NOD out and bank the cash for next week
    Thanks legends

    10

    1
  104. TU Trade odriscoll first
TD Trade Bowey first (high BE).

Have coverage with SDK (but no emg cover).
Would swing Mccartin to backline so wouldn’t be upgrading anyone. I am leaning towards Bowey and then odriscoll next week

    6

    11
  105. Running Gawn, S hayes and J hayes at ruck was going to downgrade to strnadica this week but that’s out so thinking

    TU
    Odriscol ward J hayes out
    shrek Rioli and Hamilton in

    TD
hold the boost and just do odriscol ward to Rioli and Hamilton/carrol
    And bank 350k

    2

    7
  106. So I’m doing NOD and Gibcus out for Rioli and Dawson. For the trade boost though:

    TU: JHF to Darcy Cameron
    TD: MacDonald/Stephens to Hamilton

    4

    5
    1. I should say, the thumbs up option gets me to just 2 rookies on field (De Koning or McCartin at D6 and Nick Martin at M8 with Clark to come in next week)

      1

      0
  107. I know it’s been done but this is so bloody hard. Really rate everyone’s opinions in here.

    TU – Christian Petracca

    TD – Andrew Brayshaw

    Much love to everyone 🙂

    14

    9
    1. I’d lean towards Trac based on fixture, price and he’s less likely to be tagged than Brayshaw.

      2

      0
  108. TU
    Bowey > Trac
    NOD > Dawson
    Butters > Rioli/carrol / Hamilton

    TD
    Bowey -trac
    MacDonald – Rioli/carrol/Hamilton

Will be my last trade boost

    3

    6
  109. Alternatively I had a three way trade option also.
    In: Lloyd, Moore, rioli
    Out: bowey, naish, dixon

  110. Sc’ers double downgraded last week and took an L in my main league… Falling behind the 8-ball here. thought I would have the cash for Oliver but I’m about 50k short.
Wondering weather using a boost to get him is the way to go. Or is there anything I can do this week for a point injection. Doesn’t feel like the team is bad but I keep losing so it’s to sct for the W!!!!! 23 trades and 3. Boosts remaining.315k itb
    Team as follows:
Backs: crisp, Hewett, short, Sicily, daicos, gibcus, Martin, dekoning.

Mids: touk, cripps,Neale, McRae, parish, Steele, butters, Carroll. McDonald, solido, Owens.
    Rucks: gawn. Preuess. Hayes.
Fwds: Dunkley, cog, broadie,Martin, parker. Hamilton, durdin. Rosas.

  111. Hi all
Does anyone know if we can use the Trade Boosts during the Supercoach Finals or just during the Supercoach Head to Head season?
I’ve used 3 and itching to use another, though don’t want to waste them if they can be used during League finals

    1

    1
  112. Zak Butters to Darcy Cameron

Banking 50k, I believe Cameron will average more points. Thoughts legends??

    T/U – Go for it

T/D – Hold tight Butters will come good.

    6

    12
  113. Double downgrade for me this week;

    Odriscoll > Rioli (via dpp)
    Ward > Clark

Over 300k banked for next week!

    13

    0
  114. TU = Dawson
    TD= Hewett

Round 12 bye for Hewett is ok. Wanting a D/M . Don’t trust Zorko’s body, been burnt before. Thought about Pendles but he’s a lot of money for an older player that I think will be rested at some stage. Missed the boat on Hewett earlier this season – is it too late to get him now or am I better off with the POD, being that he is in so many teams?

    8

    5
  115. With stradinica not playing should I trade Dixon too begg or Jamieson instead or are they not worth it
    TU: Go instead to begg/jamieson
TD: Save the trade their not worth it

    0

    15
  116. Any DEF rookies? Im forced to get one if I dont want a donut. Should I risk it with Cleary?

    2

    2
    1. Rory Thompson probably has the best security and has already played a game. Also Buku Khamis but hard to ever be confident in bulldogs rookies continually getting games

      7

      0
  117. Worth using a boost for Hamilton or Carroll? Will leave me with 2 boosts for the season.

    TU: Do it
TD: Rioli is good enough and get Clark + upcoming rookies in following weeks

    3

    10
  118. Bring in Darcy Cameron to F6?
Probably move on O’Driscoll and swing Nic Martin to M8 getting McComb/Hamilton offield..

    10

    0
  119. Already done o’driscoll to rioli
Dixon stuck at R3 so thoughts on swapping him to aiden begg for cash gen?

    0

    9
  120. Do I:
    TU – NOD/Ward to Hamilton/Cameron
TD – use a boost to do Hinge to Rioli

    Currently have 3 TBs left.

    4

    0
  121. Wasn’t sure where else to put this, but might be worth considering…

Bearing in mind that 35% is the threshold to gain DPP status, here are the status of some notable players so far this year:

    Bontempelli 37% forward
    Gawn 28% forward
    Marshall 27% forward
    McComb 52% forward
    Short 23% mid
    DCameron 39% ruck
    Bailey Smith 37% forward

    14

    0
    1. Might help up forward- just really confused with who’s gunna be top 6-10 with the forwards.
In the past players like Hawkins have finished years well and come out top 6, but if you’re right on those numbers I can see Smith & Bont getting a gig in my side come finals- and might be just ahead of players such as Taranto.
Might be good upgrades on Coniglio, Martin, etc.

      1

      0
  122. Got Carroll last week, already traded NOD to rioli and have 21 trades left
Is it worth it to downgrade macdonald too hamilton with 310k itb
This would let me do something like hinge and rosas > Clark and a premo like oliver next week
Otherwise i’d have to go to someone like dawson or pendelbury next week
    TU: Yes do it
TD: Save the trade no need to have rioli, carroll and hamilton

    10

    2
      1. Is MacDonald going to be playing in round 12 tho? Cos if he isn’t then I may aswell just have hamilton

        1

        0
  123. Is it worth me boosting this week to get Hamilton into the side. Would leave me with 21 trades and 2 boosts.
    T/U – Save trade and boost – Ward, Gibcus > M.Rioli, Parker
    T/D – Use boost – Ward, Gibcus, Rosas > M.Rioli, Parker, Hamilton + 100k

    4

    2
    1. I wouldnt trade out gibcus unless i was gonna cop a donut if I was you he’s still got cash to make when he comes back in

      1

      0
      1. I think him being out this week makes it an easy decision. If he achieves his average for the next 5/6 rounds he’ll only make 10k. I’m happy to move him on and get another rookie off the field.

        2

        0
  124. Worth a boost?

    T/U – JHF to Carroll
    T/D – Berry to D.Cameron

TD is sideways but could put $100-$150k on by R14 bye

    6

    2
  125. Was originally gonna go Gibcus and Macdonald to Caroll and Dawson, but now I’m considering brining in Big Sean Darcy for Preuss
TU – Send it cos Darcy wont be under 600k again
TD – stick with original trades

    2

    9
  126. Needing help with suggestions for a KEEPER with$516.0K to spend.
I already have Heeney, W.Brodie, Cogniglio, Rowell as some of the possible choices.

I was leaning toward Cerra or maybe Vlaustin….

    Your ideas very much appreciated.

  127. Hi all. Think I phrased this badly earlier, so…….What is the rule RE: the 5 x Trade Boosts

TU: Can be used during the Supercoach Finals or
TD: Can only be used during the Supercoach Head to Head home and away season?

    3

    0
  128. Best mid to bring in have 656k already have Neale,Oliver,Cripps,Macrae,BRodie,Cogs and Rowell . All other lines complete

    0

    0
    1. I’d look at turning Rowell into Steele after Steele’s bye (and as Rowell is going to have his).

And therefore Laird / Brayshaw right now depending on bye’s and if the saved funds allows a potential upgrade soon.
