    1. Haha. Time to let go Roo Boy, although I mst admit I did have a passing interest in how my players were playing while watching the game last night.

    1. It really was a good game, RB. I was worried Sydney would jump out of the blocks quickly and they did. It meant that we spent a lot of energy playing catch-up football. Judd was sublime in the 3rd and I was delirious when we got our noses in front in the final quarter but we just couldn’t hold on.

The boys can still hold their heads high after that season. Sure we ebbed a little towards the end but in the final game we didn’t back down when the fight was taken to us and we certainly haven’t gone backwards which a lot of commentators thought we would do after pissing off Fevola.

The boys will learn a lot from that and come back harder from the experience of another close loss. We have some pretty exciting young talent on the list (Yarran, Henderson, Lucas, and I’ve still got big wraps on Casboult) and Ratts has flagged some “aggressive trading” in the offseason. One of the big fellas will have to go – my pick is Hampson which is a shame – and we’ll of course lose someone to the GC – the rumour is Grigg which is also a shame but that’s just the reality of AFL.

I’m already excited about 2011 and where we’ll finish. Guarantee you it’ll be better than this year.

    1. Nice play on words, Joey :P. The horse had no hope when it got sandwiched at the 400m mark, it may pay to follow in the cups.
