Started the week planning to trade Cripps and Dow to Brayshaw and Jordon.
Ended up trading Dow and Bergman to Warner and Jordon. So pretty happy with that decision.
    10/10 league wins to boot

Disappointing result this week but happy with Trade ins Tex and Jordon ok also .
Fyfe on the bench also didn’t help as well as sub standard scores from H Young ( injury)
Dow , B Campbell , Oliver and other Rookies coming back to earth besides Warner .& Ziebell performing well above expectations .. Gulden , Clark , Meek Powell ok. As well as Flynn and Scott on bench
Stewart , Short Daniel Laird ok
Stars Gawn , Steele , Dunkley , Merett and Cripps
Good news is I have only utilised 2 trades so Young and Dow to go which should yield some good trades with the $378,000 I have in the bank .

Looking at my leagues, it looks likely I’ll get a bit of a rise in rankings. Was hoping for a big Monday but old mate Irish probs cost me 30 odd points in the end. Thankfully Kozzi got a game as he got me over 2000.

    Kept Neale and Cripps.

Hopefully keeps me on an upwards trend after a poor round 1. Nearing that top 1K

    How not to trade:
    1. Plan to bring in Tex and Impey for Cripps and Sharp before the round starts
    2. Decide to keep trades in hand due to rookie job security
    3. Bring in Butters for Cripps instead.

    +3s Grawndy, Ridley Taranto Dunkley

    -3s: Kozz, Brockman, Oliver, Neale

A bit of a meh round summed up by a meh finish. Hoping to roughly hold my ranking in top 1500. Having Sharp and Highmore dropped left me a donut which I didnt really recover from. Have 90k in the bank and not sure how to cover my hole in defense tbh. Was on the defence about going to CJ last week but couldnt get the cash so that hurts now. Will have to do some research and come back stronger next week

      1. Nailed the rookies and went heavy in the backline. Started Ridley, Daniel, Short, Stewart, Jiath & Clark.
Grawndy with a few midpricers forward including Ziebell and Impey and sacked Dow for Tex this week.
Macrae, Dunkley, Walsh, Laird and Taranto in the middle plus rookies. Have kept Danger.
        Going ok so far.

Robbed myself on the VC option as Captain was going to be Gawn. But you don’t roll the dice on a 130.

    10/10 leagues.

20/20 hindsight is a thing. Very disappointed in myself in taking Clark/Fullarton over Jiath/Jordan. Effectively it means two wasted trades, lower scores, and lower cashflow.

Will at least looking at Chapman in. Most likely for Kosi this week.

Second trade may be dependent on prices. I have 77k in the kick but if it won’t stretch for my intended actions then I will wait out and just look at bubble rookies next week.

Ooof, what a disaster. Had Campbell and Kos on field and then my entire high-priced midfield of Neale, Macrae, Satan, Bont and Zerrett combined for 461 points.

Thought paying up top dollar for those 5 in the pre-season was the way to go, which forced me to pass on Ziebell and Ridley – what a mistake that was. Ugh.

Anyway, gotta post the good with the bad. Good to see plenty around the site who popped off, gw.

Titch, Dusty, Oliver Green and HYoung all poor. Neale out and Dunkley in was a positive this week. Young looking like he needs to be traded out.

Moved up just a tad in the rankings, but should’ve had (and was looking like having) a bigger week. Only Walsh tonned up in the mids, with Neale, Bont, Oliver and Brayshaw all putting in some flattening scores. Ziebell, Dunkley, G+G and a handy 93 from emergency Nik Cox saved the week. Was also nice to see Doch ton up.

    Fairly average this week.
Need to sort out some depth for my backline this week. Just avoided a 0 with a last minute trade.

  13. 2198 / Macrae / 5954 (up 1781)

Neale to Ridley worked. Captaining Macrae didn’t. Would’ve gone over 2300 with the C on Gawn but lesson learned.

Looks decent this week, despite a few rubbish rookie scores. No matter how many brilliant scores you get (G & G, Ziebell, Tex), there’s always enough shockers to drag you back down (Campbell, Kosi). One day, I’ll crack the 2300 mark again

Why do I have Josh Kelly? But also how can he play some awful half forward role barely getting the ball and still score 100? Trying to decide if I accept that all year or trade him out and watch him score 180 as a pure mid.

Happy with that ..my only big annoyance so far was self inflicted..had Danger Rowell so to me the no Brainer move was to Martin and Walsh.

Living in Canada I missed the cut off time for Walsh and ended up putting in McGrath with no real conviction. Cost me quite a few points but only myself to blame.

  18. 2139/Gawn/1480

The good: Jiath, Warner, Ziebell, Steele, Dunkley, Gawn, Flynn, Gulden.

The bad: De Goey (lesson learned. He is now Ridley), Martin, Bontempelli, Oliver.

    The ugly: Campbell, H Young.

A few premiums under performed, most rookies OK but lower than last week, left some points on the bench with on field selections. Could have been worse. Happy with overall ranking considering a bit of a disappointing week.

    On we go….

Traded in Ridley for Rowell which was a win, but also traded in Brayshaw (Freo) for Phillips – which wasn’t, not this week at least. Frustrating when its the premiums letting down your team – Oliver, Neale & Brayshaw in particular, with 7 premiums not cracking a ton & 5 players not reaching 50. Something to be learnt I think for next season to not start with all the highest priced players, but finding that balance in which ones to start, and which to wait for the inevitable price drop.

  20. 2205 / Gawn / about 4,500.

I was pretty happy with my score and I was able to move up in rank by about 1,200. I anticipated that I might drop after trading out Neale but my two ins of Impey and Jiath did the job (other out was H. Young, so I was lucky to dodge that injury).

Now I have to figure out which two guns to bring in to give me a scoring boost.

  21. I did not go well at all. 1905. Got stuffed up by Butters, Brayshaw and Tom Mitchell. Also got in trouble with only one emergency option as Hayden Young scored only 18 and my emergency (Koschitzke) was used on Tom Highmore. Solved this by trading out Hayden Young (Hamstring -Out indefinitely) and Hunter Clark for Jordan Ridley and Heath Chapman.
