What are people thinking about paul chapman? I didnt pick him intially just because I was worried about his hamstrings but his absolutely burning. I have brown and pav but with riewoldt gone I want another star. What are other peoples views about chappy and his hamstrings?

i have him in one of my teams, but he scares me a lot (and i’m a geelong supporter) due to injury. in the last three seasons he has missed 5 or 6 games each season:
2007 – played 19 or 25
2008 – played 19 or 25
2009 – played 20 or 25

I’m thinking that he is a gun, maybe just the gun I need. Yes, the hamstrings are a concern, but, his upside is massive. I might have to trade him into the squad this week.

I think anyone is at risk of soft tissue injury…you’d never have picked the Voldt to go down for 16 weeks. I say grab him, he’ll prolly be fine.

I’m mulling over a couple of f/l trades and would appreciate any thoughts.
1. Rioli/Murphy into Pav/Fyfe
2. Rioli/Ballantyne into Chapman/Fyfe
3. Rioli into J.Moore
my bench is Pods/Rocky. rest of f/l is ROK/Gia/Higgins/Grundy. I have used 8 trades.

JB has gone down in value, so u could pick him up cheaply. Moore copped a injury so just be wary, if I was u I’ll go for option 2 but I’m not sure about Fyfe job security coz there are players for Freo coming back from injury.

Brown is cheaper than Pav and maybe a better trade. I still would have to rely on a Pods/Rocky or Fyfe as a 7th forward. Whilst I gain pts on the 6th f/l trading Murphy/Balla into JB/Chappy/Pav, can I rely on the 7 spot options until I can upgrade them? And, am I risking too much from a trade usage perspective?
Hence, the Rioli into Moore thought, although if he is injured….

At the start of the season I was going to put T.Varcoe in my team, then he broke he’s thumb in training. He looked good yesterday and might be a nice sideways trade option.

I traded him and Martin into Judd last week, but that was to get Juddy b4 his value exploded more than b/c I thought Basti or Martin had inflated enough.
I presume you picked him to on-trade, and I also presume you’ll need to trade someone else to get a prem + a rookie, or, you intend to perform a sideways trade.
What will you get out of trading Bastinac? More than you have now? If that answer is yes, then it is time to trade him, if, your answer is no, then hold onto him for now.

I’ve used 7 trades and Mottsy has banned me from using any more for 5 more weeks. It’s a little painful, but I think I’ll pull through.
Very pleased to have ditched Seedy last week for Sandi.
PS I am only 1 qtr into the Derby (got it taped), but watching what Nait did to Sandi in the 1st Qtr I was a) once again amazed at the young gun and b) curious about their final scores! 114 to sandi and 72 for Nait. Then again, when he works big marks into his game (I am thinking next season) he will be an absolute SC animal.
