  2. Just made the one trade last week and that was Sharp to Sam Berry. Dow’s stinker start to the season has him on the chopping block but don’t have the cash to upgrade to a premo.

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Stewart, May, Clark, Highmore (Kosi, L.Jones)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Titch, ZMerrett, Cripps, Gulden, Powell, Jordan (S.Berry, A.Scott, Downie)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
FWD: Dunkley, Ziebell, Campbell, Warner, Dow, Brockman (Treacy, Rowe)
27 trades left and $31,200 ITB

    Suggestions welcomed!!
    Cheers

  3. Biting the bullet and moving on some poor performers.
Dow has to go. And then I have Hunter Clark and De Goey.
    Both haven’t worked out.
Thinking of going Dow to Ridley and then….

TU H Clark (BE of 125) to Impey
or TD DeGoey (BE of 99) to Impey

Leaning towards H CLark going as Saints have West Coast and Collingwood has GWS. The other will probably go next week.
    Thanks

  5. Here’s my team.

How do I get in Impey? Preferably move on dow but 5K bank makes it difficult… So need to make a second trade or I hold dow and move on someone else…

BACK: Laird Daniel Short HClark JClark Highmore ( sharp Fyfe)

MID: Oliver MacRae Merrett Walsh Taranto gulden Campbell Jordan ( berry Powell Brockman )

    RUCK: GAWNDY (Flynn)

FWD: Dunkley Phillips Ziebell Atkins Warner Dow (Rowe Scott )

    BANK: 5k

    1. Mav

I would be worried about your backline.

Highmore ,Sharp and Fyfe D6-8 is a problem.

I would look at Dow to a playing Defensive rookie.
      Via Campbell and Fyfe.

You should know if Chapman is playing (Sunday)before the Blues/ GC game starts. (Sat night.)

      Good luck.

      1. Agree with your analysis FT.

        Maverick, my recommendations.

Trade out Dow and Hunter Clark.
Campbell to Forwards to replace Dow.

Sharp to midfield, place on Bench for Powell.

        Buy Cumming and Jiath.

        Highmore to bench.

Saves a donut in defence, gets some performing midprice defenders who are way underpriced.

        Ignore Impey, Maverick.

He’s a nice to have but doesn’t fix where the structure is bleeding points.

        1. Thanks for the replies FT and harbour .

So you’d trade out hunter Clark before Phillips?

          My thinking was

          Dow -> chapman
          Phillips -> Impey

& Give Clark one more opportunity I think he must move into that midfield again where he dominated pre season and Rd 1 . If he doesn’t I’ll use the bank from dow and Phillips to go up to a uber def for Clark next week?

But you blokes are right my defence is leaky

  6. Risky move but provides huge cash gen and sets me up for big upgrades in the coming weeks.

Neale and De Goey -> Warner and Ridley. Leaves me with $350k in the bank.

    TU or TD?

  7. Is Burgess guaranteed ruck time for 3-4 weeks while others are injured? Or will Greenwood be the GC ruck?

    5

    1
    1. Both have been mentioned as well as Caleb Graham. Whether they run with a single ruck or share the load is unknown. The coach indicated that he is undecided at the moment.
They have been ruck training with Burgess and Graham but like the unpredictability of Greenwood, especially follow up work after the hit out. He has rucked before apparently but I have no knowledge of this.
I suspect they will share the ruck duty but which two is the question?

  8. Can only VC one of these two due to not having a set non-playing rookie:

    T/up – Merrett

    T/down – Dusty

    Leaning towards Merrett

    1. MARTIN v Port

      L3 v Port: 74, 104, 121 (100 av.)
      L3 @ AO: 116, 74, 108 (99 av.)

      MERRETT v Swans

      L3 v Swans: 159, 59, 129 (116 av.)
      L3 @ SCG: 159, 129, 141 (143 av.)

Further discussed in the comments of the captaincy article.

      1. Cheers Gunboat, I’m skeptical only because he might cop the Hewett tag but I don’t have much choice! I’ve got Nick Murray, Bergman, Sharp and Highmore who are all not playing atm but two of them were emergency subs last week and Highmore may come back.

Feel like using Sharp as my loophole is my safest option

  9. Hey guys,
Essentially need to make one trade that obis doesn’t involve Gawn to free up 72.6k.

Am going Stef Martin to Gawn with about 377k in the bank, so I need my other trade for this week to free up 72.6k to afford it.
Please let me know who you think I should trade out and for whom, here’s my team:

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Short, Jiath, Butts, Highmore (Kozi & Murray)

MID: Titch, Andy Brayshaw, Tadams, Gaff, Cripps, Cunnington, T. Phillips, Gulden (Scott, Downie, Newchurch)

RUCK: Gawn (after trade), Grundy (Treacy)

FWD: Dusty, Tex, Ziebell, Impey, Daniher, Braeden Campbell (Waterman, Brockman)

    1. Andre.

I know you want to get to Gawn.

      Have you thought about Hickey.

I would go Stef to Hickey and use the cash to upgrade a non playing rookie through Treacy to Flynn. He still has a heap of cash to make also.

Hickey is 3rd behind Grundy and Gawn in total points for Rucks atm. He has a very favourable draw and a heap of cash to make.

      Best of luck.

  10. Looking to replace H Young in the backline.
I already have Laird, Daniel, J Clark, H Clark, Highmore, Kosi, Sharp.
    Cash not an issue

    TU: Ridley

    TD: Mills

    Comment: someone else

  11. Have I missed the Warner train or is there enough money to make that I should bring him in?
    Yes get him: TU
    No, not worth it: TD

    1. His break even is -72 and could make 100k in the next few weeks?. He has improved his score each round 70,94 and 112. Whether as a rookie he can maintain this momentum is unknown but he sure looks good in an exciting young team. I gave a thumbs up without knowing who you are thinking of trading for him?
      Good luck.

    1. Depends on how you’re paying for it.
      But looks nice in isolation.
Although having said that, I think people are abandoning rookies too early. They only need one decent game to get the cash rolling again. They need to be playing of course…

  12. Thinking I need to get Ridley into my team before it’s to late. Currently thinking:
    Hunter Clarke > Ridley
    Cripps > Impey

TU – yes pull the trigger
TD – No, waste of trades (will have 25 remaining).
Comment: trade Taranto instead of Cripps.

  13. My side:
Def: Ridley, Daniel, Short, Bowes, Chapman, L. Jones, Kosi, Highmore

Mid: Neale, Merrett, Petracca, Cripps, J. Clark, Goulden, Powell, Jordan, Bruhn, Brockman, Scott

    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy, Flynn

Fwd: Dunkley, Martin, T. Walker, Ziebell, Campbell, Warner, Rowe, Fullarton

Any players that need to be traded out? Anyone moving on Highmore?

  14. Currently have 27 trades with 200k left over.

    TU – Dow & Clark > Chapman & Houston
    TD – Dow & Sharp > Chapman & Impey
    Comment – Dow > Chapman

  15. I will be trading out H Young for Jiath but also considering trading out Clarke for Impey to help out the forward line (currently 3 onfield rookies).

    TU : H Young & J Clark for Jiath & Impey (Highmore becomes D6 & 2 Sydney rookies as F5 & F6)

TD: Keep Clark, miss out on Impey, & just do Young to Jiath (Jiath is D6 and Rowe at F6 with 2 Syd fwd rookies)

If I didn’t have H Young to deal with, I would have been getting Impey, but can afford to do both, but just not sure if I should (27 trades before any this week).

  16. Forgive my stupidity but can you do a three way swap of players. I want to move dual position player as follows. Forward to back. Back to midfielder and them midfielder to forward. Thanks for any assistance. Cheer millsy

  17. Had waterman on bench and he scored 56. Should I swap him on and get his points or leave Rowe on ground and hope he gets his hands on it against roos?
TU 56 points better than nothing
TD risk it and leave it up to Rowe

    7
  18. T/U – Kozi to Chapman. Hope JDG gets on a roll against GWS
T/D – De Goey to Impey. Kozi to Chapman
Can’t get De Goey to anyone decent so I’ll bank cash for future upgrades

    29 trades left still

  20. Phillips to Impey?

110k banked and 110k rise over the next 3 weeks. Jarmen should our average Phillips too. Just struggling to part with phillips

  21. Hey guys any thoughts would be appreciated… really need to swing Fantasia in defence so have to make a trade in next hour. Who would be the best rookie to trade in this week (already getting Chapman in).

My options are probably Treacy, Dev Robertson, Holmes, Giro or any debutant named this week. Cheers!

    0

    0
    1. Robertson, Holmes and Giro are not certainties to be named this week, so avoid if you can
Treacy is probably your best bet there

      1

      0
        1. Ahh, missed that. I’d still go Treacy. Dev will be a better scorer but you’ll lose fingernails waiting for team selections each week

          3

          0
        2. I actually Like Giro’s JS more than Chapman.

          He’s mature age,Its Chapman’s first year.

I’m not saying Chapman will get dropped.

I will be floored if they drop Giro.

  22. Plugging holes down back and in the ruck. Offloading Young & Hunter

    T/U – Jiath & Treacy
    T/D – Chapman & Impey

  23. Like many, the Flynn thing leaves issues, but there are options.

    1. Flynn to Goldy and probably get the league win but lose Flynn cash generation.
    2. Flynn to Treacy and also lose cash generation, but retain bank of 450k
    3. Cop the donut and Ford (nth) to either Impey or Tex

Option 1 means missing cash generation from Flynn and/or Impey or Tex.

Fortunately I can wait till tonight to decide. Silly me left c on Draper and missed the loop chance…other issues meant trading him are not main priority. C on Maxy.

  24. 28 trades left. Young and Dow are on the block this week and I have $396k itb. All week I’ve been thinking of bringing in Jiath and Impey but now I’ve got to thinking I could bring in Chapman and any premo forward or mid (via DPP). My current premo mids are Bont, Satan, Merrett, Cripps and I have Dusty and Dunkley. So, I ask:

TU: Young and Dow -> Jiath and Impey ($267k leftover)
TD: Young and Dow -> Chapman and any premo mid or fwd (comment who)

    1

    4
    1. Kieran.

I had the same type of situation.

I was looking at Jiath and Impey. I just thought Impey was more likely a keeper, with his role and the lack of quality forwards.

CJ looks good but I think he will require another trade. I only have 2 defence spots left.
( Started Mills, Laird, Short, Stewart.) I still need , Ridley and Lloyd .

I ended up trading Young to L jones (Port) and Bergman to Impey before last nights game.
With Heeney injured I didn’t like my bench of Bergman and Rowe.
Dow gets another week on the mid Bench.

      Sorry …Back to my advice.

I would trade Dow for Impey.

I would then get on Chapman if named. If not take a punt on Jiath.

Chapman will give you cash to upgrade your weakest link next week. There a heap of Premo’s with high BE’s so should be some bargains soon.

      Best of luck.

  25. I’m in a bit of strife staring down a couple of potential donuts this round, with neither Highmore or Flynn named. I can only rectify one, but will have to chance my arm and make a call before Sunday teams are announced as I’m looking to trade out a St Kilda player in both instances. The two options are:
T/U Trade Hunter to Treacy and play him R2 this week
    T/D Trade Highmore to Chapman
The big risk with both of these options is that one or even both of these players may not be named for Freo. Does anyone see a better alternative trade strategy?
As always, any advice is appreciated

    1. Athur McC
      Facing a similar dilemma.
Have Flynn at R2 with Hunter R3 and $71K in the bank so only options besides a donut are Treacy or Fullarton – have already used 1 trade this week.
Not convinced either have much scoring capacity…………..appreciate peoples thoughts
      T/U Treacy
      T/D Fullarton

      5

      4
    2. Treacy will play 100%

Chapman is highly likely to keep his spot as well, but we won’t know for sure until after the Saints game.

I would go Treacy, just in case.

Highmore can go to l Jones next week.

      2

      1
      1. I might have missed something here, but with Treacy going to play is Meek potentially on the chopping block?

  26. Worried about Neale (like all coaches who have held him). If he is a late out this afternoon, and you have him in your team :

    TU: Trade him out
    TD: Bench him

    11

    14
  27. Currently have Clark @ D6 and Kosie & Highmore on the bench. Was planning to trade Dow to Chapman this week via DPP (Clark to Mids) and field Chapman. Having second thoughts after watching L.Jones last night. Should I wait and bring in Jones in a couple of weeks? Does Jones have better JS?

    TU: Chapman
    TD: L.Jones

    Many thanks!

  29. Was cursing the Flynn thing but just realised I can get Marshall and avoid a donut. But I miss on either Impey or Tex and forfeit some big cash from Flynn, but that depends on if/when he plays again.

T/U get Marshall and that lovely dpp
    T/D get Impey or Tex

  30. If I have two emergencies on one line but 1 doesn’t play do I get the others score?

Stuffed my C loophole & trying to save it

    3

    2
  31. With Kosch out should i take a risk and get a 0 or trade him out and risk Dow scoring a shit score and losing cash.

TU: Trade Kosch out for Chapman

TD: Take a zero in defense and buy Impey.

    3

    1
  32. Still throwing around 2 options today – have used 3 trades to date. I need a replacement for H Young – and its between Jiath or Chapman. Jiath means I have no onfield rookies in defence with Kos & Highmore benched. But if I get Chapman as D6, I can then also get Impey by trading out Brockman or Rowe. One of these will be on field if no Impey, to go with my 2 Syd rookies.

TU: 1 trade – Young to Jiath and pass on Impey ( means fielding 3 fwd rookies awhile longer but no defence rookies) $32k ITB
TD: 2 trades – Young to Chapman & Brockman/Rowe to Impey (means one onfield def rookie and 2 onfield fwd rookies) $70k ITB

Both options have 7 onfield rookies.

  33. Is Daniel injured or did he just have a bad game? Don’t want to burn a trade on him for him to come good and play well.

    1

    1. I’m a doggies member and watched the whole game, it’s the worst game I’ve ever seen him play, just didn’t get near it for some reason and there were less kick ins than usual (and he wasn’t taking many of them)

I wouldn’t be trading him now, he’ll turn it around.

      1

  34. have kosi and highmore on the bench- worth a trade to champman or will kosi be back after being rested? also not sure about chapman’s JS.
    T/U kosi> chapman
T/D hold fire save the trade its sideways
note:used 3 trades chapman won’t be on field, cox is D6.

    3
    1. Kosi’s breakeven is 23 so even if he comes back not much cash left in him. Also worried about Chapman’s job security, does anyone have an idea of how long he can hold his spot?
