Asked this one a couple of months ago but opinions change and we’ve had a lot people join the site recently (welcome!) so I’m asking it again. Will one, either or neither of the following two gentlemen make your SC team this year?

Maybe not to everyone’s taste, but I must have both! They are the dearest for a good reason, and I dont wanna have to trade them in later.

same. Also will be looking to upgrade Hale to Mumford asap. Hopefully he can stay away from the tribunal, what’s the bet I wait and trade him in only for him to get suspended the week after LOL! (only mentioning this because he’d have to be a bit of a lock for at least VC if not Captain this week)

I don’t have Pendles on the hope that his price is massively inflated and come the later rounds he has dropped a packet load and then I can get him in. From that point on he can go nuts. Ablett it is for me but I will be giving Mummy the VC this week and we will see how he goes.

Never done this so I apologise for sounding vaigue….Juddy with the fact that you’ll be putting the VC on Mummy, if he has a huge game……you can then change your C to a player on your bench that hasn’t got the emg or playing yeah? If he has a crap game, you can just put the big C on say Ablett before the partial lock out is finalized!

Been wondering it seems that Pendles isn’t getting much love, I don’t have him either.
Considering his price is 700k I would imagine that is the only factor in not selecting him, there can’t be any other unless as HGL said you have blinding hatred of the Pies.
Perception is an interesting thing, if say his price was 698k so only a couple of thousand shy of the 700k would he be getting more love from the SC coaches.
Little Gazza is not far off the 700k but seems to be in everyone teams (with good reason).
In my mind I saw Pendles price and said no, I selected Gazza not really interested in his price based on the fact he wasn’t 700k+.

Yeah, you may have something there Stevo,maybe also something to do with Goddard being $700,000 dollars last year and dropping heaps as the season went on, maybe affecting peoples perception of Pendles value? I know it made me stop and think a bit, but I have him now because I cant see him sucking like God did last year, even if the Pies dont go as well this year, he is still young and not peaked yet IMHO. Also, Improptu didnt have Goddard last year and I think he went ok last year?

Think Ablett is in everyone’s team as he had a poor pre-season last year and could score better than last year

Hey guy’s I love Pendles 1 score below 100 for the entire of last season that being a 94, super average, played every game and I can see him averaging in the 120 to 130 bracket no problem. I dont have him at present only because of the asking price.
I have gone with Ablett to save the 11K and will deliver similar if not greater scores, when he goes big he goes BIG!!, if you look at Abletts 2011 season he came into his first game a little underdone and slowly started the year averaging 102 for his first 5 games in R16 he got injured and scored a poultry 19.
So I have looked at Abletts numbers in his other 14 games for the season the average was 143.7 wow if he starts the season fit look out, GC should win more games this year and be more competitive in others which can only help his scoring potential in saying that you would be hard pressed in winning your league if you leave Pendles out for the whole season, will try and get him by R8

I tried not picking Pendlebury in my team & it just looked wrong. He has been in my team every year he has played, and I see no reason to change the script now. Have GAJ as well, my logic being it is easier & cheaper to u/g your M6 than your M1 during the year.

I haven’t had Pendles at all until two days ago. Just kept getting twitchy looking at my team with only Ablett as a proper week in week out captain option. I’ve got Smurfs too but he just aint in that league yet.

Hello SCT world! MJ is back for another season to discuss supercoach amongst the best SC minds in the country. Sorry I’ve gone missing during preseason, but I have been following the site nontheless. I decided I wanted to change my team as little as possible this preseason so only selected a side last week after the many hours of taking players in and out last year only to find the guys I took out scored better.
As to this poll: I’ve learnt over the last 3 or 4 seasons of SC that when it comes to picking your gun premiums, price shouldn’t be an issue. Time and time again I haven’t picked the most expensive player because I thought I’d be able to get him cheaper, only to be too far behind the 8ball by the time you get him in. Not this year.
My midfield guns will be Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Selwood as I reckon they’ll be 4 of the 5 top scoring mids this season (Swan the fifth).
I’m going for the formula of POINTS > VALUE this season.
