Just can’t bring myself to consider Stanton. Kennedy will be a superstar in the years to come, the hawks must be spewing

Next week trading out goodes for either Kennedy or J.Selwood, then looking to bring in the other one in a few weeks as a rookie upgrade. I am considering stanton but I think Kennedy seems more consistent and will average higher at season end.

As a bombers supporter I love how Stanton is finally living up to his potential and after a few more seasons will be in the elite category.

As a supercoacher in 2012 I still don’t think he’ll be as consistent as players like S.Thompson or GAJ. Stanton is getting better against opposition taggers but will probably have a few games peppered throughout the season where he gets completely shut down.

Hope he proves me wrong though lol

Got both at this stage, but if had to choose…definitely Kennedy.

Stanton makes you punch things one week and jump for joy the next….70 against wobbles, 154 against lions…

Anyone see this on the HS site today?

TOP 20 SUPERCOACH MID-PRICE BARGAINS OF 2012 (SO FAR)

1. Lewis Jetta (Syd) $333,000
Games: 6, Avg 89.5, $ per point: 3721

Has almost doubled his output from last season, mainly on the back of better efficiency and greater scoreboard impact. In just 7 per cent of teams.

2. Jonathan Giles (GWS) $340,000
Games: 6, Avg 90.8, $ per point: 3743

We can forgive one bad week (56 against Carlton). Still a safe bet as one of your starting rucks, especially with Dean Brogan injured.

3. Justin Sherman (WB) $366,300
Games: 3, Avg 97.7, $ per point: 3751

Price went up $31,000 last week but he’s in less than 2 per cent of teams. Average could be even higher if he’d taken that shot at goal in the last quarter against the Pies.

4. Marty Clarke (Coll) $315,200
Games: 6, Avg 81, $ per point: $3891

Career-best numbers in the Irishman’s second crack at AFL. Has already jumped $175,000 since Round 1.

5. Ryan Hargrave (WB) $317,100
Games: 5, Avg 80.8, $ per point: 3925

Most players picked teammate Brian Lake ahead of “Shaggy” – smart coaches picked both.

6. Jason Porplyzia (Adel) $311,100
Games: 5, Avg 79, $ per point: 3938

Worries about the Porpoise’s shoulder don’t go away but he should make a bit more money for his 136,000 owners. Although the Crows’ draw does get a bit tougher from here.

7. Ricky Dyson (Ess) $301,800
Games: 4, Avg 76.3, $ per point: 3958

Just over 2000 players have Dyson in their team; they must have known something the rest of us didn’t. Injuries opened the door but he might be hard to drop.

8. Steve Motlop (Geel) $301,900
Games: 6, Avg 75.2, $ per point: 4016

Was expensive as a Round 1 bench option at $223,600, but well worth it as he boots goals while the likes of Tory Dickon and Aaron Hall collect cobwebs.

9. Matthew Wright (Adel) $372,300
Games: 3, Avg 92, $ per point: 4047

Hasn’t scored less than 86 in three matches. Good value for the second year running.

10. Ben Cunnington (NM) $350,600
Games: 6, Avg 86.2, $ per point: 4069

Top-five draft pick living up to his potential. Hard nut has added more strings to his bow, kicking seven goals for the year.

11. Sam Lonergan (Ess) $362,300
Games: 6, Avg 88.8, $ per point: 4082

Played out of his skin last weekend, with 12 tackles and two goals helping him to a monster 142. Not sure you can bank on too many more scores like that.

12. Taylor Walker (Adel) $366,900
Games: 6, Avg 89.2, $ per point: 4115

Surprise Coleman Medal leader with 20, including 11 in the past two weeks. Can still be up and down – his score of 24 against the Hawks is a worry for potential SuperCoach suiters.

13. Tom Bellchambers (Ess) $401,500
Games: 4, Avg 96.3, $ per point: 4171

Has been very consistent in his four matches, with a high of 121 and a low of 80. The worry is what will happen to him when David Hille returns.

14. Ivan Maric (Rich) $414,100
Games: 6, Avg 99.2, $ per point: 4176

Ranked No.4 in total points for ruckmen this year and unlikely to miss a game, he is proving an excellent buy. Can’t miss him on the field either thanks to that haircut.

15. Harley Bennell (GC) $371,300
Games: 6, Avg 88.8, $ per point: 4180

Exploded last week with 37 touches and three goals for his first three-figure score. Has had three other games of 89 or better so it wasn’t a total flash in the pan.

16. Brad Ebert (PA) $429,900
Games: 6, Avg 102.8, $ per point: 4181

Port’s leading midfielder is yet to score less than 90. Has already gone up more than $100,000 but still good value.

17. Rhys Stanley (StK) $301,700
Games: 6, Avg 70.8, $ per point: 4259

Scores have tailed off with three under 60 in the past three weeks. Fair to say wet weather doesn’t suit him, but his job security is good because he’ll be needed as ruck back-up while Ben McEvoy is out.

18. Jamie Macmillan (NM) $311,200
Games: 6, Avg 72.2, $ per point: 4312

Jamie who? Average has almost doubled from last season and is now a Roos regular.

19. Alwyn Davey (Ess) $330,900
Games: 4, Avg 76.5, $ per point: $4325

Is finding more of the ball and has kicked three goals in each of the past three weeks. Twelve tackles in four games helps boost his scores.

20. Jake Batchelor (Rich) $352,900
Games: 5, Avg 80.8, $ per point: 4368

Has become an expert at intercept marks and has a dangerous left boot.

Stanton — Gets the easy ball and plays loose, DT specialist.
JPK — Wins the contested possession and is an inside player, SC Gun.

JPK gets my vote.

JPK has hit the Ton in all of his six games while Stats has only notched up 4 out of his 6. JPK is more consisted and gets the No.1 tag week in week out and still performs well. While Stats has a free reign and scores well because Jobe gets the No.1 tag but put a tagger on Stats and watch him stink it up big time, flat track bully.

Will be trading Goodes for Ablett if he’s back this week otherwise it’ll be Kennedy as I already have Stanton.

I think Abletts proven time and again not to underestimate him and anyone who thinks he’ll need a couple of weeks to get back to full tilt needs their head read!

Read this post on tooserious by a ‘Matty_C’ and thought it had some merit. Making me re-calculate my trades this week. Thoughts?

“Is anyone worried about cashing in cows like Magner, Shiel and Kennedy too early? Yes the new cows will make you more cash, but you have to use another trade to get it and trades are pretty sparse at the moment. In order to be fully upgraded and have at least a couple of injury trades left in the bag I need to milk every cow as much as possible!

Kennedy to Adams makes you less than 100k! Who are you upgrading with 100k? Magner to Horsely only makes about 150k which is also a pretty cheap upgrade. Your mid cows should be making you the most cash out of all your cows or at least the minimum 200k, shouldn’t they?”

what about Goodes>Horsley? frees me up to over $600k then either nxt wk or wk after (barring injury of course) make two premium upgrades.. one in mids and one in forwards..

Is Kennedy going to go up anymore anyway even in the long term? He has prob hit his peak and I don’t know bout you guys but I don’t want him sitting in my team all year so he’s gone from my team this week if Adams gets a game.

Horesly has good scoring potential, is a mature body so shouldn’t slow down, he is getting a crack at AFL finally, he won’t let that one chance slip through his hands. He is going to be a very valuable M6 for the rest of the year. Plus if you have a bye stratergy he has his bye round 13 which is perfect for a rookie as you can either downgrade or upgrade just before round 13 and save yourself a donut. Miss at your own peril with him. Im going Goodes down to Horesly so that Magner and Coniglio can hit there peak in the next few rounds to double trade up.

Is there really any rookies that are going to come for the rest of the year? Yes there are always some that surprise us through the year but barring Tom Mitchell, Zorko and maybe a couple GWS boys I don’t see any rookies that will get a regular gig at a team that didn’t play in the first few rounds. Therefore you need to jump on the good rookies when they show up ie Horsely. It isn’t ideal but SC is about risk and reward and the small risk of not making an extra 20K is far outweighed by the potential scoring potential, good JS, and skyrocket price rises I see.

your not picking Kennedy to make u $$$… and if u dont see anymore real rookies on the horizon, why trade out a premium having a break out yr??? imo, you should keep Kennedy.. will be top 6/7 mid by yrs end..

Had Stanton from Round 3 (first trade in for 2012) and have only been dissapointed once (ANZAC Day).

JPK was brought in for 2 weeks ago for Shuey (don’t trust that shoulder!) and has been solid. No regrets.

Also, as a side note, I have Scott Selwood sitting at M3 with a 125 average after sacking The Knife early on in the shoulder-gate saga. Again, no complaints!

JPK, unbelievable talent, Stanton averaging 132………I’ve gotta keep rubbing my eyes as I think their playing tricks on me! JPK for me & I totally agree with PA

Off topic, with the Goodes injury I’m thinking
Goodes out —– Ryan O’keefe in & use the extra $$$$ to go Porplyzia out —- Dangerfield in

Thumbs up……………..great trades

A lot of hoohaa about JPK after the PS last year and he couldn’t consistently maintain that form. Has improved again this year but will he be a top 6 MID above Pendles, GAJ, Swan, Selwood, NDS, Smurph?
Stants is and will only be a DT player for mine until he learns to cop a tag and get a kick in the losing games.
