      1. Thank you. I’ve maintained the structure of SC selection process right down to the 4 bench players corresponding to the 4 positional lines. I am interested in the similarities in yours, PA’s & my sides. There are quite a few.

  5. Seems i’ve gone more thorough than most (bored at work today) and in true All Australian style i’ve named a few out of position too.

    FB
    Schmidt – cash cow Rnd 11 buy & Rnd 17 sell = +$217,600
    Stratton – avg 69 & handy D8
    Henderson – DEF/FWD (read Davis below) & cash cow rnd 13 buy & rnd 18 sell = +$265,800

    HB
Smith – good late season form .. avg 74 in his 6 games since debut (just pipped Webberley and Bail for this spot)
Davis – too slow a riser for a cash cow but he’s a DEF/FWD and therefore a keeper when paired with a Grundy/Waite type
    Bastinac – cash cow rnd 3 buy & rnd 16 sell = +$280,900

    C
    Martin – great F7 btwn Rnds 10-19 with 1 sub 75pt score
Barlow – avg 116 and was on track for Charlie until injury struck
Moles – those that stuck with him have got a good M7, avg 77 over last 5 rounds

    HF
Strijk (last 5 rounds avg 83)
Grant (avg 71 btwn rnd 5 debut and last round which he missed)
    Rockliff (6 x 100+)

    F
    Fyfe – cash cow .. rnd 7 buy & rnd 14 sell = +$255,700
Podsiadly – 7 x 100+ and WEagles at his fortress in Rnd 22
    Peterson – cash cow .. rnd 3 buy and rnd 13 sell = +$191,700

    R
Trengove – Handy R3/4. Played most weeks and avg 53
Shuey – only played rnds 1-3 and rnd 20 but he could the be the difference in some finals as M7 if any of the top 4 coaches rest their stars
Blair – Rnd 16 buy and avg 85. Was a great late season downgrade option.

    INT
    Howlett – cash cow – $254,700)
    Hams – cash cow .. rnd 6 buy & rnd 17 sell = $+244,500
Silvagni – avg 60pts in his 13 games
Rohan – his DPP btwn MID/FWD when couple with those like Chapman, Harvey, Didak, Pavlich, Goodes, O’Keefe means his scores are irrelevant with a useful F8 so he’s permanent bench and just used to rotate the others around to provide injury coverage

Shout outs but no accolades to Roberton, Astbury, Trengove (Melb), Banner, Scully, Colyer

    1. Fantastic attention to detail mate. Although, we have some differences in our team selections, I can comprehend how yhou’ve gone about selecting your team.

I’m now waiting for Motts team to be published, complete with justification for the 14 Caaarlton blokes he’ll no doubt find room for 😉

      1. lol ….. yeah, he’ll somehow justify giving a spot to a rookie whose been on the LTI list since rnd 2 and is about to get delisted

      2. HAAAAA!

14 is pushing it, the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head are Davies, Lucas, and Ellard. Do you count Hendo on account of the fact that he only ever played 8 games for the Lions?

        1. I spent a bit of time thinking about what constituted a ‘rookie’. In the NBA it is someone in their first season and that was how I employed my selection policy.

If it was someone in their first season at a new club like Lachie Henderson, then Darren Jolly would have to be in the first ruck given that he is recruit of the year, as would Luke Ball.

If you are validating Henderson’s selection under the Rising Star rules then this years winner Ben Reid would be shoo in.

As for Marcus Davies, I have my eye on him for next year’s team, I think he could be a goer.

          1. My validation for Hendo was the fact that he’d only played 8 games prior, not that he was at a new club. I don’t care what The Chief said last night – I loved him getting in Lids’ face after marking in front when he was out of position when the ball was in the air.

  6. What about Hannebry from Sydney, I know it’s his 2nd year but he only played a handful in 2009 and will walk away with the rising star award.

    1. I ruled out anyone that had played before (even if they were rookie priced). Therefore no Hannebury, no Warnock, no Skipper, no Waters, no Maguire.

Maybe someone with a spare week could go through and run the calculations to work out which team we needed to start with to get the best possible team now. Surely we could all be averaging 2600-2700pts by now if we’d all pulled all the exact right moves.

    1. It’s called the Swanlow, and, I wouldn’t think that we need to have a poll to know that it’s the great Dane’s year to shine.

      1. RELTON, at the start of round 1 a lot coaches made him their 2nd forward bench player. He played in R1 scored 15 points and finally in R3 13 points plus a turtle burger with coke. There are still 33,902 poor coaches out there, that STILL have him in their sides.

        RRRRRRRRREEEEEEEELLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOONNNNN!!
