The TEAM WrapUp 2019

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 28 2019

Welcome back to the TEAM for the last time in 2019!

ROUND TWENTY-THREE SUMMARY

I guess the good news would be our largest score EVER to finish the season off, climbing over 3000+ spots to end the Overall Ranking at #8127.  That score was ranked #91 for the week!  We also took out the Minor Premiership in League #5.

Bad news would be âthat it was our 2nd worst ranking in the four years we’ve been running the ‘Community TEAM‘,as seen below………..

2016 – 6753

2017 – 24571

2018 – 4990

2019 – 8127

ROUND 23 LINE-UP

Only three players didn’t hit the ton…..even Shaun Higgins did a great job for us over the last two weeks (who would’ve thought I’d say that?)…….just a massive weekend!

The starting TEAM line-up probably had more promise about it (as we’ll see with the ‘Nudelsuppe’ WrapUp).  Since we need to convince the majority of Coaches that an early trade is necessary, it’s hard to get anything through (especially early on).  We missed out on vital cash generation with Sydney Stack as a result.  Also not having Connor Rozee didn’t help our chances either.

There are probably a few things that can be streamlined for the future, we’ll work on that as we go.  The TEAM still provides plenty of good insight, especially in the way of trading……..some of the trade suggestions were also relevant to many teams out there.

Thank you all for your input over the season!  Couldn’t have done it without you, Coaches!  I’ll update the TEAM League results over the next week……..

  1. Cheers Schwarz, your contribution throughout the year has been nothing short of exemplary. On a note with trading, I can’t see any other way of cash generation in the first 5 rounds other than to trade. My correctional trade netted me Boak,Rozee and Sheed and a ton of cash. By round 6 I was confidently adding a Premium to the side every week . Would really like to see people’s wrap up of their own teams in a separate post or maybe in this one.
    My Hits for the season;
    Boak,Rozee, O’Brien,Balta and Hore.
    My Misses for the season;
    Stack, Cameron (WCE)
    Wasted trades; Ross,Scott and Young .
    Poor trading decisions ;
    Coniglio, Hurn injuries replaced by Lobb and Duryea and trading Goldy out instead of ROB in round 15.
    Must haves next year. Mitchell,Nic Nat.
    Probably won’t consider
    Hurn ( Age and soft tissue injuries don’t mix)

  2. I must say, this was the most educational series of post to read every week for a noob. Seeing people in the comments give their reasons for making decisions was really helpful.

  3. Thanks Schwartz, has been great watching the team throughout the year and monitor how its going, and what consensus trades the community are coming up with.

    Unrelated but would the site entertain doing a post about an NFL draft league for Aus NFL fans? Myself and few mates are interested in starting a competitive league but are struggling for numbers. If not possible then no worries, thanks!

  4. Thanks Schwartz, job well done. I would like to suggest that prior to next year we decide if we are playing for league wins or ranking. I believe this would have a major factor in how we trade. Maybe a poll?

  5. Do two teams one with a fast turn over method and one with cash generation and a steady pace, see what comes out at the end?
