  4. No I Smith
    No Hibberd
Ottens could end up as a subsitute
Wallis is listed on an extended bench

…… crapola news for my cash cows

Seriously now considering Atley, Buckley, Lester and ??? for the fwd line

Glad it’s only a partial lockout tonight.

Can see my tinkering away on this one while watching the cricket into the wee hours (what time o they repoen the site after the game??).

  6. PA…Am wondering on your thoughts about Easton Wood. Had him earlier today, then got rid of him, and am thinking about him.
I am considering either him, Andreijs Everitt or Gwilt for my D5 spot which currently has Gwilt in it.

  7. Talk from the Club is Wood will take over from Harbrow’s role as that running back, so they are going to see how he goes. But Stack also has a new role like Yarran at Carlton, so they might be fighting for the position.

  8. Nick Lower – Lock him in for the whole season and then melt the key into scrap metal and sell it off to make some extra cash on the side.

  9. Yea saw his 96 on SC scores game 3 but didnt know how he got em. Bewick it is! Hope you have put in Bucks Mark 2 HGL?

  10. Also didn’t see any postings on Hibbard. apparently it’s a Thigh problem?

    Any confirmation on this?

  11. This has just passed across my desk “Hibberd didn’t train with the Bombers today – suspected minor calf injury”

  12. I think at 7.40pm the Blues and Tiges players are locked but the rest should be fine to move around, but that’s just a guess, RB.

  13. Cant see many other options for the Mid rookies as they didnt get named. Unless I go some Prestia but then again will he get named? Or more $$$$ on Gaff or Conca

  14. well in a flurry of moves that saw many players names come in and out and in and out again of my team i think i’ve settle on the following changes due to tonight’s selection:
Smith >> Prestia (cheapest DPP fwd/mid that may play early doors .. know he’s not an assured pick either)
Hibberd >> Irons (his el cheapo price appealed to me)
Toy >> Lester (i know Lester so the sentimentality of him getting picked forced my hand)

  18. 1. Do I go Buckley or wait a week for hibberd? Can’t see bucks staying there for long looking at their emergencies. 2. Keep irons and bewick, or go to someone starting like libba, atley, or what about even savage? 3. Darling or Tapscott? Thoughts & opinions much appreciated, ta

  19. 1. im waiting for hibberd bucks wont last long
    2. I have irons and libba but still considering berwick
    3. darling out of those two

  20. I have doubts that Buckley will be this years Relton Roberts… if he plays anywhere near as well as he did in the NAB Cup then he’ll stay and others will make way.

I’d put Liberatore in but the rest are equally as good to keep around.

Darling… Will probably play more games.

  21. People! It’s BEWICK (as in Darren), not Berwick (as in the suburb). And while I’m at it – “a lot” is two words, not one. There… I feel better now.

  25. Guys,
Are we supposed to see live score updates for the ‘in play’ players?
or is it not open yet because of the partial lockout?
I’m so anxious my hair is standing on end…

    Please help.

  26. I’m happy with 3 of my 4 players at qtr time. Glad I followed the advice of putting Duigan as the emergency with a GC player on the field which I can swap if I’m not happy with his score – and so far looks likely.

  27. Saving grace is not many will have him. Wa apparently on track for the Liston last year with Box Hill before breaking his ankle. Once again a MAR from nowhere.
Glad I stuck with the GnR strategy as I’m sure those with Foley/Yarren/Connors/Houli/Morton/Waite are all spewing.

  28. Juddy won the Blues the game in the last and only gets 45 points for it, I thought he’ll get 130+ not 107, oh well. Have Yarran but I’m still keeping him cos he has class.

    0

    0
  29. Yes I also placed Foley and Yarran on the pine as well… Here’s hoping Liberatore and Richardson can do the business for me on the weekend!!!

Have to wear Duigan’s 58 though… Danny Stanley is my ‘captain’ at the moment so I can double up Gibb’s 133!

  30. Had a line ball decision to make this arvo… Cotchin/Foley… I’m having a Relton/Pods flashback all of a sudden!

  31. Had Judd as my VC and with that last Q I was expecting 120 at least. Maybe they’ve become more conservative with the scaling.
The only class Yarren will have after that is going back to grade 3!

  32. Last year I had Richie Douglas and he’d scored 22 in the first round 1, so the following week I traded him out and he ended being one of the finds for the year. I’m not going to do that again.

  33. hmmm, pondering this one
    i can have either:
    1, krakouer (mid) and gamble
    2. krakouer(fwd) and gaff
    thoughts?

  34. Do you think Gibbs’ 133 is enough for Captain? I’m thinking that’s pretty good.

Foley, was substituted, but still disappointing. Duigan did alright, and Deledio did enough point wise (90), but made some huge errors which would have cost him.

I can’t wait to see the draws, and who I’m playing this week in my league comps.

  36. Did you use the Emergencies loophole as well?

Foley and Yarran had stinkers so I get a second crack with a couple of rookies… see if they can’t ‘Curnow’ out some early form.

This of course makes Danny Stanley the most unlikely of captaincy choices for round one!

    0

    0
  37. I sure did, Brods. Say hello to the captaincy, Drew Petrie!

Don’t have either of Foley or Yarran so I’m pretty happy right now

  38. That would be the deep, the dark, the mighty mighty blues.. the baggers.. the navy.. the deep dark navy blues!!! Carlton Football Club.
3 years in a row, top of the ladder after round one. What a record. Never in doubt…

    errrrr…. thank f@ck we didn’t lose to Richmond :O

  41. What’s happened to Gilbee?
I don’t have him or want him but it seems he’s not named in the WBD Rd1 team and he’s not injured (at least not according to afl.com.au.
    Any clues?

  42. Motts
Thinkin’ Ratts needs to go home, make a stiff scotch, log on and make seek.com one of his favourites after that.
You blokes need to bathe for as long as you can early ’cause there’s no way you’ll be challenging come Sept.
Sorry to rain on the March parade!

  43. Spot the Spud!!

I’m trying to help my brother (fantasy virgin) to put together a team. Its not easy because (a) he’s a stubbord bastard, (b) he’s a hawk’s fan (c) he doesn’t like Goddard derrr (d) he thinks with his heart not his head and (e) he never takes my advice.

So given all these constraints, I’ve tried to fill as many places with decent rookies and enough talent to score some decent points…

Here’s the team so far. Any advice would be very helpful in persuading him to change some of these spuds.

    Thanks for any help.

Deledio, Johncock, Broughton, Guerra, Scarlett, Adcock, Tarrant

  45. Guys, how many people are holding onto Isaac Smith purely on the DPP basis?

Tossing up if I need a rookie DPP (Mid/Fwd) or wheteher I can just go without and hope for the best?
